- Simple Guided Meditation for Calm and Peace (For Busy Minds)
If your mind feels busy, restless, or constantly switched on, this simple guided meditation is here to help you slow down. I’m the same. Always thinking, always looking forwards and just getting random thoughts popping into my head for no reason. There’s no pressure with this practice. No need to “do it right”. No experience required. This is a short, gentle breathing meditation designed to help you feel calmer, more grounded, and a little more at peace even if meditation has never really worked for you before. I’ve spent time on meditation retreats in Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, and Bali, learning directly from Buddhist monks. I’ve studied a variety of techniques, from breathwork to concentration exercises, and these experiences have shaped the approach I’m sharing here. Meditation has also been shown to reduce stress and improve focus (Headspace guide), which is exactly what we’ll aim for today. You can lie down, sit in a chair, or sit on a mat. All you need is a few quiet minutes and a willingness to breathe. By the end of this post, you will be feeling much happier, more calm and more confident with meditation. This post is part of our look into what is meditation and it’s benefits, How to start meditation , guided meditation and deeper looks at spirituality. This is Our Story - we were living a Depressed and Disconnected life in the UK and we choose life instead. To thrive rather than survive. We're sold everything & took a leap of faith to follow our intuition to raise our vibration and live the life of our dreams travelling the world, worldschooling our kids and building our dream home in Bali . If this resonates with you please subscribe to our blog + YouTube channel Guided Meditation for Calm and Peace Below is the full guided meditation. It’s spoken gently, with long pauses so you can follow the breathing at your own pace. There’s nothing to achieve here. Just listen, breathe, and be kind to yourself. And you know us, we're friends so let's jump right in to todays blog. Table of Contents Guided Meditation for Calm and Peace What This Guided Meditation Is (and Isn’t) How to Use This Guided Meditation A Simple Breathing Meditation Explained Sound, Frequencies, and Calm Who This Meditation Is For New to Meditation? Final Thoughts on Calm and Breathing What This Guided Meditation Is (and Isn’t) Meditation can feel confusing at first, especially if you’ve seen lots of different styles online. So let’s keep this simple. I've always really struggled to find some good qiality content that really explained meditation, but in a way that I could understand and relate to. So, I wanted to fill that hole and share what I have learned along the way. A simple guided meditation for calm and peace — just breathe and let the mind settle. What this meditation is: A simple guided breathing meditation Calm, slow, and gentle Designed for busy minds Beginner-friendly Something you can come back to again and again What it isn’t: It’s not about stopping your thoughts It’s not about forcing calm It’s not about “clearing your mind” It’s not about doing anything perfectly If your mind wanders…. That’s normal. That is all part of practicing meditation. How to Use This Guided Meditation You can use this meditation in whatever way fits your life. Try it once and see how it feels Use it as a short daily meditation Come back to it when your mind feels busy or overwhelmed Listen with headphones or without Pause the video if you want more time between breaths Even a few minutes can make a difference. A Simple Breathing Meditation (Explained) This guided meditation uses slow, steady breathing to help the body and mind settle. You’re invited to gently notice: The in-breath The out-breath How the breath naturally deepens and slows There’s no need to control the breath or change it forcefully. Simply noticing your breathing is often enough to calm the nervous system and create a sense of ease. Over time, this kind of breathing meditation can help you feel: More present Less reactive More at peace in your body Sound, Frequencies, and Calm Sound is a big part of how I personally approach meditation. In this guided meditation, you’ll hear: The sound of running water Very subtle background solfeggio frequencies mixed low beneath it The frequencies move gently between 528 Hz and 432 Hz. I love to use pure tones just in everyday life, but specifically during meditation, there's a full look at the 7 healing Solfeggio frequencies here They’re not there to do anything to you just to help create a calm, steady atmosphere that supports the breathing. If you prefer silence, that’s completely fine too. Meditation is personal. Use what feels right for you. Who This Meditation Is For This guided meditation is for: People with busy or overactive minds Beginners who want something simple Anyone feeling stressed, tense, or overwhelmed People who struggle with traditional meditation Men and women looking for a calm, practical approach You don’t need to be spiritual. You don’t need a special space. You don’t need to know what you’re doing. You just need to breathe. New to Meditation? If you’re just starting out, you might find this helpful: Beginner’s Guide to Meditation - a simple, honest introduction to what meditation actually is and how to get started. If you’d like something a little longer and more detailed, you can also try: A Deeper Guided Breathing Meditation - for when you want to slow things down even more. These all work together, there’s no “right order”. Final Thoughts You don’t need to meditate for long for it to make a difference. Even a few minutes of breathing, awareness, and stillness can help you feel calmer, more grounded, and more at ease. Unlike social media which lasts a day or so then it’s gone into the social media abyss. Pins continue to drive traffic long after they’re posted, which basically means you do the work once and then reap the benefits continuously thereafter and on auto pilot … even as you sleep! Which is how I like to do business. Thus Pins will drive traffic long after you pinned it. It’s Huge - Pinterest has over 482 million monthly active users, where 97% of those searchers are open to looking for suggestions. I.e they’re not searching for a brands XYZ, they’re searching for any XYZ ideas (I.e. this gives you a great opportunity to get your content out there and infant of invested teachers actively wanting to see your stuff. And best of all you get to get infant of this huge traffic monthly FOR FREE! Meaning you can rank on Pinterest against huge big brands, it’s an even playing field. Users on Pinterest are buyer ready - majority female, ages 25-54 years, with household income of $100k - a great demographic. It's FREE - Pinterest drives FREE, high quality traffic that works on autopilot (once you’ve added the pins. It's 24/7 - Pinterest is a 24/7 lead generator for your business - because you can guide people to free lead magnets, sales pages, webinars, services, offers etc Cheaper Ads - If ads are your thing and you want to start running adverts for your business, then ads are cheaper to do on Pinterest than any other social media tool. You can batch create - You can create all your 1 months content on one day for the whole month and schedule the months pins for your pinning strategy, freeing you up daily to write and grow your business whilst Pinterest works in the background. Grow from the beginning - You can start generating leads, traffic and growth even as a new blogger, before you get picked up by the big Search Engines. So now we know how great Pinterest can be for marketing a business. Let’s dig deeper into the types of business that can benefit from focusing on Pinterest as one of their key marketing tools. Who can benefit from Using Pinterest? Basically everybody! But the 3 main business models that do very well on Pinterest are Product Based Businesses, Service Based Businesses and Online Based Businesses. Pinterest for Products Based Businesses - example: an e-commerce store such as Shopify store, and Etsy shop, a print on demand business, handmade goods business etc. By creating shop-able pins that link directly to products or product pages you’re going to be able to get those pins ranking for the product. That then people who are searching for (e.g. personalised birthday gifts) are going to find your product. You can also tap into Pinterest Trends to create seasonal and trending content that drives traffic during peak shopping periods. For example: Pin Topics for a products biz could include: “The Ultimate Valentines Gift Guide” or “5 Must Have x for X” or “How to Style INSERT YOUR PRODUCT in 3 ways” Pinterest for Service Based Businesses - example: photographers, coaches, freelancers, social media managers etc. By creating educational content this will establish authority which thus attracts clients. You can create lead magnets (such as free educational guides, checklist with the main goal to grow your mailing list, sign up list. Where when someone clicks on the free lead magnet all they have to do to access it for free is sign up to your mailing list. Other trust based pins - testimonials, case studies, and success stories pins that drive traffic back to your website. For example: Pin Topics for a service biz could include: “Why You Should be using Pinterest For Your Businesses Main Marketing Strategy” - the very reason you’re reading this blog post here. So I write this blog post sharing lot’s of very useful info. Then I create a pin and pin it, so people wanting to know: Why Should I Use Pinterest for My Business? And The Benefits of Pinterest for Content Creators or 5 mistakes Small Business make on Pinterest. With these pins, drive traffic to the page you want to promote. Pinterest for Online Based Businesses - example: Digital products creators, Bloggers, UGC Creators, Affiliate Marketers etc. By creating Pinterest friendly blog posts that showcase what you’re selling such as a digital product or promotes a freebie, a course, a lead magnet to build your audience. For affiliate marketing you would create pins around product recommendations with your affiliate links. Share behind the scenes visuals to give brand authority , you could share ‘idea pins and video pins to showcase tutorials on how to do something, quick tips and value packed con tent based on what people are looking for. For example: Pin Topics for an One based biz could include: “The Ultimate guide to making passive income from Blogging” - driving traffic to a blog posts that shares a lead magnet ebook on it or “How to Make Money with Affiliate Marketing (even as a beginner)” or “5 Canva Templates That will Save you Hours of Work” promoting said Canva Templates as digital products. With Pinterest, you can get traffic from day one and grow fast – even without a large number of followers. So if you want help getting your blog in front of millions of people, don’t know where to start, then read on... I’ll show you step by step our system to getting started and setting yourself up for traffic success on Pinterest. STEP 1 — Pinterest Keyword Research Pinterest SEO is exactly like Google SEO, but it's visual and so you still need to find your keywords that you want to rank for and this might be different to those that Google ranks you for. Here’s a handy guide on how to find your Pinterest keywords: 1. Type your topic into Pinterest search Example for our blog: “Bali travel” Pinterest shows us AUTOCOMPLETE terms such as: • Bali travel guide • Bali itinerary • Bali with kids • Bali cafes • Bali must see spots These are our Pinterest keywords . 2. Look at the coloured “Guided Search” tiles These are phrases people click often. Example for our Bali travel example: Bali travel → budget , waterfalls , temples , first time , family This helps you target VERY very specific, low-competition searches. 3. Use Pinterest Trends (free tool) Where you search different keywords to see which have higher interest. STEP 2 — Create Pinterest Boards That Match Your Blog Categories Your Pinterest boards = is your content library. You should aim to Create approx 10–15 boards based on your blog’s SEO clusters. Examples for this blog are: • A Best of Be Nothing Like Blog (this will incl. all pins from your blog and should be the first board your visitors see when they arrive on your Pinterest profile). You’ll want to pin to this board directly from your blog at a later time to make sure it showcases your blog with what readers can find. The rest of the boards should be around your content pillars. i.e. • Bali Travel Guide • Bali Itinerary Ideas • Meditation for Beginners • Grounding Practices • Soft Awakening • Slow Living Inspiration • Worldschooling Guides • Family Travel Tips • Eat Pray Love Bali Vibes • Southeast Asia Travel • Start A Blog • Make Money Blogging Setting up each board in this way means that each board has: □ a keyword-rich title already (because we searched them in Step 1 so we know) □ a keyword-rich description □ is aligned with topics you will write about OUR TIP: Pinterest ranks your account based on board theming. So theme for what you want to rank for! After you have created each board, Pinterest prompts you to add some pins to the new board. Pinterest shows you a selection of pins which it thinks fit the title of that board. Pin around 10-20 pins which reflect the topic of the board, to help get your board of to a good start. To pin these suggested pins, all you need to do is click the red ‘PIN’ button and it will be automatically added to your newly created board. Repeat this process until you have a good selection of boards which reflect the main topics of your blog. STEP 3 — Create 3–5 Pins for EVERY Single Blog Post Each blog post that we write becomes multiple pins for Pinterest and this is how you multiply your reach. So every blog post gives you 3-5 keywords worth of reach which means the right people are finding the right content for them. If 3-5 feels to many, you should create at least one pin for each post on your blog. If you already have a blog and haven't been using Pinterest a great way to boost traffic fast is to go back to your blog and create pins for all your existing blog posts. Once you have done that, you can just create a new pin each time you create a new blog post and make this your regular practice. You'll want to make different style pins per post. As a guide we typically do the following style pins Per blog post: ✔ 1 standard pin (vertical graphic) ✔ 1 idea pin (like a mini-story) ✔ 1 photo-only pin ✔ 1 text-based pin ✔ 1 “quote from blog” pin (optional but great) That’s 3–5 pins from just one blog post. But that really targets a specific person looking for our exact content. OUR TIP; Do not worry about “over pinning” — Pinterest actually WANTS volume. STEP 4 — Design Pins That Actually Get Clicks Once you have all your boards set up, t he next step is to start using Pinterest to promote your blog… with the pins you're going to make from this step! You'll want to design your pins so they follow proven results of what pins work and don't and as a guide, we find that a high-performing pin typically has the following: □ a tall 2:3 size (1000×1500 px) If you want a bit more room, you can push it as far as a 2:4 ratio (e.g. 600 pixels wide by 1200 pixels high), but no more or your pin will get cut off in the Pinterest feed. □ bold readable text □ contrasting colours □ emotional or aspirational imagery □ a clear promise (“Bali Itinerary for First Timers”) □ your URL or logo small in the corner And so we design our Pins in Canva to follow the above rules where we can. Canva is free to use and we love using it (see our Canva guide here ), but other apps are suitable too such as Adobe or PicMonkey. These are not hard and fast rules but more guides to show what works and what doesn't. Pins that don’t work include pins where there is: ✘ too much text ✘ script or fancy swirly fonts ✘ dark photos ✘ unclear message ✘ tiny words ✘ “mystical” captions that don’t match search intent Pinterest wants clarity . This is fairly obvious if you think in terms of what stands out for you when browsing a search engine or images. You really want: very little text, straight to the point simple font to make it easily readable and clear, nice bright images that say what is is. Making you or me what to click through and see more. So now we've got our pins you can pin directly in Pinterest or the best way is to add a pin to the blog post and pin directly from the blog. To do this you'll need to install the Pinterest Extension to your browser. Pinning directly from our blog is purely A personal preference which is completely up to you. We just find that having a pinn-able image in your blog post, encourages others to pin your posts too which all helps. Don't forget when pinning to always pin your pins to your ‘Best Of’ board too! STEP 5 — Pinterest Title + Description SEO Pinterest uses your text to then rank your pin so you really must write a title and Description for each pin. Failure to do so results in pins not getting ranked = seen and so there's really no point in creating beautiful visuals in the first place. For each pin: Write a Pinterest Title □ that includes the main keyword □ that is clear (eg. “Meditation for Beginners: Easy 5 Minute Practice”) Write a Pinterest Description □ that has 1–2 keyword-rich sentences in it □ is natural-sounding (not stuffing keywords in because you're desperate to rank for it) □ and it includes secondary keywords For Example: “Learn easy grounding techniques for beginners to feel calmer, centred and more connected. These simple grounding practices help regulate your nervous system and reduce anxiety naturally.” is a great Pinterest description for my grounding post here . And I still need to create my pins for this new blog post. That's still on my to do list which I share on my SEO blog Checklist here Point Number 14 in that - grab it free here ) STEP 6 — Pin Daily (but do it the easy way) Pinterest rewards consistency so aim for a daily pinning strategy. Best of all you don’t need to manually pin every day — use a scheduling tool (Tailwind or Pinterest’s own built-in scheduler) that allows you to batch create on a signle day but then schedule the pins to run all week. What We Aim for with our Pinning Schedule is: • 1–4 pins per day (scheduled) • and we mix new pins + reshared pins • 80% your content, 20% repins We do this purely because Pinterest wants and rewards: ✔ consistency ✔ volume ✔ freshness It’s obviously really important to pin YOUR OWN PINS onto your boards to drive traffic back to your blog. But it’s also important to pin OTHER PEOPLE’S PINS onto all your boards too (except your ‘Best Of’ board because that’s just for your pins!). Because you want to be known for pinning high quality, useful pins that help your audience. And you want Pinterest to see that you pin high quality pins that get lots of re-pins to get Pinterest to start showing your pins more in the searches / feeds of your audience. And the more your pins get seen and re-pinned, the more traffic you get back to your blog. STEP 7 — Create Pinterest Idea Pins Idea pins are Pinterest’s favourite format. They get massive reach . Create idea pins from each blog. An example on this blog is: • snippets of blog posts • quotes from the content. Eg. for this blog that would be Quotes from our meditation content for example or each content pillar • mini travel guides • step-by-step grounding exercises • our Bali photos • “before/after inner peace” style messages Note: this is all examples for our blog to give you examples of what you could include for your own blog. If you're struggling for content ideas on your own blog, drop us a comment below letting us know your blog and we'll help you with some pin ideas for your blog / website. Idea pins are perfect for driving brand awareness — and now they CAN link to URLs again (Pinterest only added this back recently!) STEP 8 — Monitor What Works Because everything is all about learning and getting better you'll want to check in every 30 days or so to check the Pinterest Analytics to see what's working for you and what's not. Things to check: • your top performing pins • top boards • outbound clicks • impressions • search terms Then repeat what’s working. If it's clear to you that something is doing better than other things. Do more of that. Pinterest growth is a snowball — it starts slow → then becomes steady → until consistency becomes explosive. I hope the above really helped now it's time to tick off those Pinterest Jobs that you should aim for for each post that you publish. The full PINTEREST SEO CHECKLIST THE COMPLETE PINTEREST📌 SEO CHECKLIST Print this off then tick through for each post. So You Can Optimise every pin for maximum reach and blog traffic. 1. PINTEREST ACCOUNT SETUP □ Business account □ Claim your website □ SEO-friendly username □ Profile name includes keywords □ Profile description uses keywords □ Good profile photo / branding 2. PINTEREST BOARDS SETUP □ 10–15 keyword-rich boards □ Board titles match blog categories □ Board descriptions use relevant keywords □ Cover images on-brand □ Boards arranged neatly 3. Use for every blog post to make sure you are getting the most out of every post. Beginners Blog SEO Guide Steps 1-16 Step by Step: ✅ 1. Choose the Right Keyword for your Blog Before you write, confirm: □ I used a keyword research tool ( Ubersuggest / Keysearch / Ahrefs / Google autocomplete). □ The main keyword has search volume (500–10,000 is ideal for beginners). □ Keyword difficulty is low or medium. (below 50 is perfect). □ Search intent is clear (what EXACTLY is someone trying to find?). □ I created a list of 5–10 secondary/related keywords. ✅ 2. Optimise the Blog Post Title (H1) Your title should: □ Include the main keyword. □ Be clear, not clever (“what it is” over “mystical metaphors”). □ Match search intent exactly. □ Promise a transformation or solution. □ Use power words only if natural (Ultimate, Complete, Easy, Step-by-Step). Examples on my own blog: • Best Things to Do in Ubud for First-Time Visitors • How to Start Meditation as a Total Beginner ✅ 3. Write a Strong, SEO-Friendly Blog Introduction Your blog intro should: □ Confirm the reader is in the right place. □ State the problem they’re facing. □ Tell them EXACTLY what the post will solve or teach. □ Include the main keyword once (naturally). Example structure: “Looking for how to ground yourself properly ? You’re in the right place…” ✅ 4. Use Proper Heading Structure (H2 + H3) □ I used the main keyword in at least ONE H2. □ Secondary keywords appear in H2/H3 where natural. (this is your list of 5 from Step 1) □ Every section solves a real question the reader has. □ Headings are clear, not poetic (save that for paragraphs!). Google scans headings first — clarity wins. So your headings should help show readers what problem the post solves / what q's a likely reader would like answering. ✅ 5. Write High-Quality Blog Content That Actually Helps a reader Your post should: □ Fully answer the search intent. □ Be skimm-able with short paragraphs. □ Include bullet points, lists, bolding, spacing. □ Include personal experience (Google LOVES this). □ Include step-by-step instructions when appropriate. □ Be at least 1,200–2,000 words (travel = 2,000–3,500). □ Avoid fluff, filler, vague statements, or copycat content. Your content should be genuinely better than the top 3 ranking posts. And as research you should read the top 3 posts to help you see where they fall down or what they miss. We want to be the authority on the topic. ✅ 6. Add Original Photos (Major EEAT Booster) □ I added original photos from my camera or phone. □ I renamed images with keywords (e.g., bali-waterfall-tegalalang.jpg). □ I added alt text describing the image (not keyword stuffing). Google LOVES unique visuals — it separates your blog from AI/stock content. ✅ 7. Optimise Your URL □ The URL is short, clean, keyword-rich. For our blog we write the URL first as our H1 Title then save. Then change the H1 Title to be exact Keyword. Example:/grounding-techniques-beginners/ not /how-to-ground-yourself-and-connect-to-the-earth-spiritual-guide-2025 Short URLs rank better. Which is why it pays to write your slug first. ✅ 8. Include Internal Links (Very very Important) □ I linked to 3–5 other blog posts within the same topic cluster. □ I added 1–2 links to pillar posts. □ I added 1 link back to a Start Here or About page. Internal linking boosts rankings FAST. ✅ 9. Include External Links (Credibility Boost) □ I linked to 2–3 trustworthy sites (Wikipedia, government sites, health sources). □ I avoided linking to competitors directly ranking for the same keyword. This signals trust and transparency. ✅ 10. Add a Compelling Meta Description □ 150–160 characters. □ Includes the keyword. □ Tells the reader what they’ll learn. □ Encourages clicking. Example:“Learn the most effective grounding techniques for beginners and discover how to feel calmer, safer, and more present in your daily life.” ✅ 11. Ensure The Technical SEO Is Correct □ Post loads fast (use WebP images or compressed JPGs). □ No giant images over 300 KB. □ Mobile-friendly formatting. □ No walls of text. □ Short paragraphs (1–3 lines). □ Table of contents included at Top of post underneath blog intro (Google likes this). ✅ 12. Add a Strong Conclusion + Next Step □ Summarise the key takeaway. □ Invite them to read another related post. □ Include CTA: subscribe, download, or explore a guide. Example:“If you loved this grounding guide, you’ll enjoy my meditation beginner’s guide — start here next.” ✅ 13. EEAT Enhancers (Google’s Trust Signals) □ I added a personal story or lived experience. □ I wrote in a warm, human voice. □ I signed off as myself (author name visible). □ I linked to my About page. □ I used my real photos where relevant. Google rewards real humans . ✅ 14. Pinterest Optimisation (Optional but Powerful) □ I created 3–5 Pinterest pins for this post. □ Title on pin includes main keyword. □ Pinterest description uses keywords. □ Pin links directly to the blog post. □ I added the pin to multiple boards. Pinterest can deliver traffic faster than Google. Even as a beginner with practically zero traffic to your blog or website. Check out This Step by Step Guide to using Pinterest to Grow Affiliate Traffic to Your Blog in 2026 . ✅ 15. After Publishing: SEO Follow-Up Within the next week: □ Share post on Pinterest. □ Add 1–2 new internal links from older posts. □ Update any related posts to link back to this one. After 30–60 days: □ Check Google Search Console for indexing. □ See which keywords you’re ranking for. □ Add a missing paragraph or section to fill gaps. □ Improve title if CTR is low. SEO is not “set it and forget it” — it’s iterative. ✅ 16. Bonus Enhancers (For Maximum Growth) □ Add a downloadable checklist, PDF, or guide. □ Add a short video or YouTube embed where possible (Google loves multimedia). □ Increase topical authority by adding 1–2 related posts. □ Include a question-based FAQ section (great for featured snippets). □ Add schema markup (your site may already automate this). Aim to do most of these steps as your SEO strategy for every blog post. This Is the Exact System That Grows a Blog to that holy grail of 50,000+ Sessions we spoke about here and why this figure is always our goal for our blogs. - Maximising Your Blog’s Reach: The Ultimate Guide to Reciprocal Backlinking
Thinking of starting a blog? You'll want to know where to publish your blog first off to get backlinks. Backlinking is a great way to get more reach for a blog. This is our list of favourite blog submission sites that you can register your new blog on for a free reciprocal back link. These sites will publish your new blog in the directory in their relevant sub category for your niche. This will be like the very first publish of your blog to the wider world. The blog submission links below all have a high DA and are currently free to submit to (at the time of writing). Anything over 50 is a good domain authority to have. For example: Blog Flux has a domain authority of 50 so it's a good place to list your blog. 2. Blogarama has a domain authority of 53 In the competitive world of blogging and SEO, creating high-quality content is just one part of the equation. To drive traffic and build authority, you need a robust backlink strategy. One effective method is reciprocal backlinking, where you exchange links with other bloggers or website owners. This can help boost your blog’s visibility and SEO rankings. In this guide, we’ll explore the best places and methods to list your blog for reciprocal backlinks. What is Reciprocal Backlinking? Reciprocal backlinking involves mutually agreeing to link to each other's content. This strategy can help both parties increase their website authority and drive more traffic. However, it’s essential to approach this method thoughtfully to avoid being penalised by search engines for link schemes. Top Places to List Your Blog for Reciprocal Backlinks 1. Blog Directories 1.1. Blogarama Blogarama is a popular directory that allows you to list your blog and connect with other bloggers. Engage with the community and reach out to bloggers in similar niches for reciprocal linking opportunities. 1.2. AllTop AllTop is a directory that categorises blogs by topic. It’s a great place to showcase your blog and find other blogs in your niche for reciprocal linking. 1.3. Technorati Though Technorati has evolved over the years, it still remains a valuable resource for discovering blogs and networking with fellow bloggers. 2. Blog Networks and Communities 2.1. Medium Medium allows you to publish content and engage with a community of writers. Connect with other Medium writers for potential reciprocal linking opportunities. 2.2. Reddit Reddit has numerous niche-specific subreddits where you can share your blog and network with other bloggers. Look for subreddits related to your niche and participate in discussions to build relationships. 2.3. Quora On Quora, you can answer questions related to your blog’s niche and include links to your blog. Engage with other users who have similar interests and explore potential reciprocal linking opportunities. 3. Social Media Platforms 3.1. LinkedIn Join LinkedIn groups related to your industry or niche. Share your blog content, participate in discussions, and build connections with other bloggers and industry professionals for potential link exchanges. 3.2. Facebook Groups Many Facebook groups focus on blogging and SEO. Join relevant groups, share your content, and network with other bloggers to find reciprocal linking partners. 3.3. MyBlogGuest MyBlogGuest is a platform where you can find guest posting opportunities. By guest blogging on other sites and building relationships, you may also find opportunities for reciprocal backlinks. 4.2. GuestPost.com Another platform for guest blogging, GuestPost.com allows you to connect with other bloggers and website owners. Build relationships through guest posts and explore link exchange possibilities. 5. Forum Communities 5.1. Warrior Forum Warrior Forum is a popular community for internet marketers and bloggers. Participate in discussions, share your expertise, and connect with others for potential reciprocal linking. 5.2. Digital Point Digital Point is another forum where you can engage with other bloggers and webmasters. Look for threads related to backlinking and exchange opportunities. 6. Industry-Specific Websites 6.1. Niche Directories Search for niche-specific directories in your industry. These directories often have communities of bloggers and website owners who are open to reciprocal linking. 6.2. Professional Associations If you belong to a professional association related to your blog’s niche, check if they have a directory or networking opportunities for reciprocal linking. Best Practices for Reciprocal Backlinking Focus on Quality Over Quantity: Prioritise quality and relevance when selecting reciprocal linking partners. Links from high-authority and relevant sites will be more beneficial for your SEO. Avoid Overuse: Don’t rely solely on reciprocal linking. Diversify your backlink strategy with other methods like guest blogging, influencer outreach, and content marketing. Follow SEO Guidelines: Ensure that your reciprocal linking strategy complies with SEO best practices and guidelines to avoid penalties from search engines. Build Genuine Relationships: Focus on building genuine relationships with other bloggers and webmasters. A strong network can lead to more valuable and natural backlink opportunities. You'll want to get your blog published in as many high quality places as possible. In brief, getting your blog 'out there' is the first hurdle to having a successful blog. And you'll want a successful blog because there is cash to be made. Of course you'll need good content and informed blog posts or articles, but that kind of goes without saying. Once you've got the quality content, and you're consistent with creating quality content - you'll need traffic. There's no point in writing amazing pieces that simply never get seen. And that's where Google comes in. And Google likes good SEO + Backlinks. Are blogs important for seo? A successful blog relies on good SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) to be picked up by google and then seen by relevant readers for what you're actually writing about. So a good blog will need good SEO to rank well, and the more quality blog posts that you produce for your blog that are also optimised well, in turn help your blogs overall SEO. So, quality content + good SEO are important for any successful blog. One of the key performers in any good SEO plan is creating good quality backlinks for your blog or website. Getting backlinks is one of the hardest parts of SEO (in my opinion) because you have to physically ask for them, which can go unread. You can also guest write for other blogs, but creating these relationships takes time. There are many ways that you can get backlinks for your new blog and i'll probably do another post dedicated purely for all the ways to generate quality backlinks for your blog. The quickest way to take you from zero to double figures in terms of how many backlinks you have, is by submitting your blog to blog submission sites UK and abroad, which will link through to your blog. This isn't anywhere near the amount you'll want / need, but it's a good starting point. You'll want to find websites and blog submission sites that have a high DA (Domain Authority) with google and work on getting your blog listed on these sites. My list above is the best list of blog submission sites that have decent to high DA and won't hinder your blog ranking, and will generate backlinks for your new blog. I would recommend registering with 2 submission sites per day to avoid looking spammy and organically grow your backlinks through creating amazing posts. By the end of the month submitting your blog in this way will generate you those much needed backlinks and you can watch your ranking increase over time. Conclusion Reciprocal backlinking can be a powerful strategy to boost your blog’s visibility and SEO rankings. By listing your blog in relevant directories, engaging with blog networks and communities, leveraging social media platforms, and exploring guest blogging opportunities, you can find valuable reciprocal linking partners. Remember to focus on quality and relevance to maximise the benefits of your backlinking efforts. Happy linking and blogging! - Realistic Truth: How I Make Money Blogging - How Long Does It Take To Start Earning Well?
I decided to write this blog to help anyone who is thinking of starting a blog with the intention to earn online . Not just a few quid here and there but a meaningful income to either supplement their main income or for it to become their main income. Part of my Financial Freedom Series - Helping people to become financially free to live the life of their dreams. As you know in June 2024 we took one way tickets to Bali with our Kids to slow travel full time and we are now around 1.9 months (at time of writing this) into that amazing journey. Check out our YouTube Channel here where we share little bits of our Bali life , travel life and spiritual journey. You can click on the relevant link to get to your preferred section: The unpopular truth 1 about earning a living from blogging The next unpopular truth 2 about earning a living from blogging How This Blog Started What is a Realistic Blogging Salary? The Holy Grail Figure which 5x's earnings overnight (pretty much) The Strategy 0-50k Sessions How to Grow The Blog? Steal My Strategy /Growth Roadmap Words of Encouragement for New Bloggers I get asked all the time questions such as 'How do I get a remote job?' and 'how do I start earning online?' like you guys. We understand that many people have a dream of doing a job that they love, love the idea of freedom based work and dream of worldschooling their kids and travelling the world as digital nomads but don't have the flexible location based income to support it. To answer the above Q's - truthfully there's no one straight single answer to them. Because the first truth about how we became digital nomads and started being able to properly 'live' this nomad travel life (with kids) with help from blogging without dipping in savings IS: you have to have an online income. For us this was an online business but this wasn't enough to support our family fully and so we had to learn new skills and start new things that allowed us to start earning 'properly' online. Blogging is one of the ways that we now earn online. And this blog post is the first step in helping others wanting to start their own blog to see what it takes to take said blog from nothing to an earning vehicle. And sharing the truths about how long it will take to start earning properly from blogging and what you can expect to earn in that timeframe. If You're new here Check out Our Journey here I get asked all the time by people that haven't got experience of working for themselves but think that being a Digital Nomad is a cool job title that they'd like to do and that being one is somehow instantly well paid, cushy with glamorous travel perks asking 'How Do I become a digital nomad?' and it kind of makes my mind truly boggle. Because there is no Digital Nomad recruitment office sat somewhere on Earth just waiting to sign people up to pay them good money, to travel the world and give them the life of their dreams - without the exchange of their skills or time for money. Wouldn't that be great if there was. And if you find that place give me a shout. Because we're still spinning all of our own plates to create the income via multiple income streams that keeps our dream alive. That said it's completely possible. With time and consistency. And it doesn't have to involve MLM (as that's not our thing at all - tried it, hated it, wasted time and money in the process) BUT that being said I also know a lot of people in the MLM space who are earning serious money. It's just not 'our thing'. Not only is it possible with blogging but the earnings can be unlimited too. Especially with time, because blogging traffic compounds. But I must stress before you read on, because I think many people think that earning online via blogging is super easy and requires little to no effort or time. That's not the case and there's no free ride. The Unpopular Truth 2 about starting earning from blogging Truth Number 2: Earning online is still a job. In fact it's a business and needs to be run as one. Because, if you've ever had your own business you'll know exactly what it takes to run your own online business and earning online is exactly the same. That's if you want to earn from it of course. And these truths are going to make me unpopular. But we need truths if we are going to move past it and you start earning a good income online. (unless your boss gives you remote flexible working of course - if so then you are winning as you'll have the location independence and the security of known income). So with any successful and earning business - You need to be able to offer something of value to paying people (products, information or a service). You need to get this product, info or service 'out there' in the way of marketing. And then you need to get paid. In terms of having a blog that pays - this looks like: Having a blog that offers readable info that people want (a good topic in your own niche) and then getting good at writing so those people stick around (skills) and then getting really really good at SEO (skills) so you can get your info in front of eyes (top of google) and then make money through those eyes seeing or clicking on an ad (ad revenue) or on your affiliate link (affiliate earnings). All of which are not going to earn you £2k a month instantly or consistently. And so for this you will also need a good content growth strategy (which I share my exact roadmap for you below). Blogging with a strategy is a tried and tested method of earning money online. Keep reading because I Basically share exactly what it takes to start that blog and how to start earning from it. Not just a few £'s here & there but a regular monthly income that's realistically achieved to make a salary £1.5k-£2.5k a month. There are a few really good ways to earn well online. Some of which can be pretty fast too. Blogging being one of them and in this blog I intend to share realistic timescales, realistic earnings and a strategy and plan that you can follow to help you grow your own blog from zero to a really GOOD INCOME. Our Story and how this blog started: For us early in 2024 we had one online income and knew that we needed more income streams if we were to make our plans a more permanent thing. We were just about to start our travel adventure. We planned just 1 year initially and was hoping to start making money online enough to continue travelling if we wanted. We're now almost 2 years in on that travel adventure (at the time of writing) with new plans to carry on a few years more seeing as much of the world as possible whilst our kids are still young. And earning from blogging. A Realistic Blogging Salary of £1,500 to £2,500 a month. How to Get There and How Long Will it Take? I t is absolutely possible to grow a blog from zero monthly sessions to 50,000 — which is what you need to get £1500-£2500 a month in ad revenue - which is a realistic single salary for travel. Or even if you’re starting from modest numbers — especially with full-time hours available. This is the truth . It's not fluff, nor is it unrealistic optimism. It's totally do-able and read on for why 50k sessions is the bomb. The holy grail if you will for us bloggers. And to do so you need: strategy + consistency + time . To reach these monetary goals. So if you are looking to earn £2,000 on average a month (a salary) that will be uncapped continuing on but to begin will give you that wage / income each month. Here's my little bit of encouragement for you that you need to hear based on facts , from someone who is doing it already and has done it already with another blog - and so I want to share some truthful hopium and not false hope to show: Why This Is 100% Achievable for You P.S. before we start, you're probably wondering why the 50k sessions goal? Growing a blog to 50k sessions per month is the number of sessions that a blog needs to get onto Mediavine. In my own experience this is a goal for any blog because if you concentrate on just Google Ads, the revenue is fairly small each month. As a guide: With 50k sessions, you'll likely earn around £300-£500 a month with Google Ads, which whilst this is nice as a side hustle, it isn't going to become that salary income replacement. BUT getting your blog to 50k sessions will allow you to then apply to get your blog to receive ad rev from mediavine which typical pays 5x more than google. And so if you have grown the blog to already having 50k sessions (the Mediavine threshold) and will already be on google adsense and earning roughly £300-£500 pmth, then once you get approved you can see your income approximately 5x which takes a blogs earnings up to £1500-£2500 pmth. We call this: The Holy Grail. So can you see how turning your passion for writing about topics you love, with a strategy and plan is the way to reach the holy grail. And earn an income. An income from writing, anywhere in the world, that is uncapped. And by uncapped I really mean UNCAPPED. Because from 50k you can using the same growth strategy you can and will SCALE!!! Anyway, scaling is for the future. Right now let's go from zero to 50k.... and if 50k sessions seems sooooo big and unachievable for a new blog. I'm here to tell you that it's not... Let's dive in: ✔ 1. 50,000 sessions from blogging is NOT “viral” traffic — it’s strategic SEO steady traffic Many Mediavine blogs get the majority of their traffic from SEO, not social media. This means: it’s a repeatable, learnable skill , and not something that's down to luck or timing (i.e. right place right time). You just need the right strategy in place and then get good at SEO (all very learnable skills). Blogs go from 0 to 100k+ monthly sessions all the time once the right system is applied. If you dedicate full time hours, this is absolutely within reach in 12–24 months (or faster in certain niches). And this is why I say to not expect riches overnight. But expect them, if you're doing everything in this blog you can and should 'expect' them. ✔ 2. Get a niche for your blog that is HIGHLY SEO-friendly My blog covers: • travel • slow living • spirituality • personal growth • Bali • wellness • meditation • grounding • family/world schooling These are ALL niches with: • high keyword volume • endless long-tail keywords • article formats that are easy to rank • people actively searching every day So first up, Find a niche that people are searching for and you have HUGE potential — before you've even begun to fully tap the SEO landscape. ✔ 3. Google LOVES deep, authentic, experience-based blog content And so the goal is to get good at this. Again, a learnable skill. If you make it your mission to make this EXACTLY your strength, then you can reduce the timescales above. Google’s EEAT update (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trust) favours: • personal stories • lived experience • first-person travel • original photography • unique insights • non-AI duplicated content So the goal with whatever your topic is to make your writing natural, soft, and expressive — perfectly matched to what Google rewards right now. We use ChatGPT to help with speeding up of things, like the SEO descriptions and Titles and Keyword help. AI is your friend to help speed up with ideas and professional jobs BUT don't use it to do the creative work. You are the energy of your own blog. That creative energy force must be you. The style, the feel, the story that readers will come back to. The You. Not an AI bot. My tip is to keep the writing to just you and the keyboard. This keeps your blog authentic and you. The world doesn't need more AI. It needs more YOU and the beautiful creative energy as you type and flow. ✔ 4. Give yourself the time to create volume on your blog Most bloggers grow slowly because they only post 1–2 times per month. If you have full-time hours, then you can grow accordingly. If you implement my plan below, you can create: 📝 8–16 posts per month 📸 with supporting media 🔗 and include internal linking clusters ✨ utilising Pinterest traffic - Even as a beginner with practically zero traffic to your blog or website. Check out This Step by Step Guide to using Pinterest to Grow Affiliate Traffic to Your Blog in 2026 . This is how a blog or website EXPLODES. Explode is good in terms of eyes, numbers and revenue. P.S. I'm also purely talking here about ad revenue, not mentioning any offers or products you sell. The potential for your blog here is WOW. 🎥 and if you have social media channels - repurpose the blog content for YouTube/IG (for example after I have posted this blog post, I will create a YouTube video sharing everything I talk about in this post), which I will upload to YT sharing my link to this blog which helps with getting more eyes to this much more detailed blog post for those that want to find out how to earn well from blogging in 12 - 24 months! ✔ 5. If You already have the voice and the storytelling — you just need structure You may not need to learn too much on the writing side or the storytelling side. And if so this is why starting a blog is perfect for you. Your ready to simply channel that into: • high-ranking SEO posts • data-backed keyword clusters • a content library that grows in authority • better indexing • stability over time If you already have the most important ingredient i.e. you can write well .The rest is technique . And this technique is learnable. And will become your high paying skill. ✔ 6. The jump from 0 → 5,000 is small (at the beginning it will feel like it's going to take you ages to grow anywhere near 50k BUT): 0 → 5,000 is a jump that forms the foundation of it all. It feels small but keep going because, 5,000 → 15,000 is momentum 15,000 → 50,000 happens FAST Traffic growth looks exponential, not linear. Also remember, your blog will be earning as it grows which will be helpful. You won’t see 10% growth per month. You’ll see: Month 1–3 growth: Slow Month 4–6 growth: Noticeable Month 6–12: Major spikes Month 12–18: Massive compounding happening This is NORMAL. But can you see growth as the blog posts start growing, the months go on and the early months set the foundations for much bigger compounding growth. And if your only goal was to make £1500-£2500 a month then in just a small amount of time and a little journey, you're all ready to apply to Mediavine and increase those ad revenues to become ooomphy month on month. You could stop there, but writing by this point will be in your blood. And quite frankly since this is just the beginning why would you. I'll share a £0-£30k per month blogging strategy soon but first, let's jump into the roadmap for actually getting to the 50K+ monthly sessions, because it's do-able and by following my exact plan, with full time hours you can get 50,000 sessions and be eligible to apply to that Holy Grail. Steal My FULL GROWTH ROADMAP TO 50,000+ MONTHLY BLOG SESSIONS Here is my exact plan. If you follow this with full-time hours, you can realistically hit Mediavine within 12–18 months . This is a professional plan used by SEO agencies (but tailored to my niche and brand). You should add your own niche content pillars. 🚀 STEP 1 — Pick 3 Core Niches (Google Needs Clear Topical Authority for blog content) Choose 3 clear “content pillars” that your blog will become known for. Based on your goals + passions, skills. For my blog it's: 1. Bali & Slow Travel (this has a huge search volume + is evergreen = will rank always as opposed to Xmas content for example or trend led content) 2. My Soft Awakening & Meditation (both mine + Si's versions of our own spiritual awakening. This has low competition + is authentically us in our own words from our own experience) 3. Worldschooling / Family Travel (niche but high-income audience) My three above categories gives me: • strong SEO clusters • high ranking potential • good commercial value • a unique angle no other blogger has Everything I write falls into one of these pillars. And you should think about your own niches and use my niche guide to help brainstorm and drill down if you're not 100% sure on what your own blogging niche should be. My personal tip: You can pivot. What works for me now won't always work and I'll change - for example I didn't blog about Manifestation techniques but this is a niche that I love and know how to do, so I now share and this is going to become a more dominant pillar in time. Tip 2: Don't think you have to have it all figured out just yet. Pick 3 niches content pillars that you could write about for now. This doesn't have to be your job for life. 🚀 STEP 2 — Build 10–15 Topic Clusters (THIS is how you grow your blog from from 0 to 50k sessions - that holy grail) Think of your blog like a library. Google ranks blogs that are “experts” on very specific topics. Things that I'm an expert in talking about. Or that I'm living and doing right now so can yap on about them which helps those searching for such type of info. So you choose clusters Mine are : 🌺 Cluster 1: Bali Travel Guides Bali itinerary 7, 10, 14, 21 days Where to stay in Bali (by area) Best cafes in Ubud/Canggu/Uluwatu Digital nomad guide to Bali Living in Bali: everything to know Cost of living in Bali for families Best beaches, waterfalls, rice terraces Bali for first timers Cultural etiquette Bali scams to avoid (this ranks HIGH) The Bali visa guide (always needed) These types of posts alone bring me 20k monthly sessions . 🌿 Cluster 2: Meditation & Soft Awakening (My Unique Niche) What is soft awakening? Meditation for beginners (my story version) Grounding: a full guide ACIM explained gently How meditation rewires the brain The power of slowing down How to feel safe in your body again Nervous system basics for spiritual beginners Feminine energy awakening signs How to start journaling for inner clarity A gentle morning practice for peace These posts have very low competition and can rank FAST. 🌙 Cluster 3: Worldschooling / Family Travel How to start worldschooling Worldschooling curriculum ideas Worldschooling for beginners Travel with kids: practical hacks What we’ve learned from raising kids abroad Family-friendly destinations in Southeast Asia How to balance work, travel, and homeschooling This attracts a very valuable, engaged segment. 🚀 STEP 3 — Write 2–3 SEO Posts Per Week (This is my growth engine) With full time hours, this is easy to do. Each post = 1,500–3,000 words, with the following for SEO (I'll put together a detailed SEO blogging guide as SEO is the skill that gets your content out there to the right and searching eyes: • keyword in title • keyword in H2s • intro summarising search intent • original photos with keywords in Alt Tags • internal links to cluster • conclusion + CTA By writing 2–3 posts/week = you'll have 8–12 posts per month . This is the strategy. In 12 months, you’ll have 100–150 posts. This is where the exponential growth happens. 🚀 STEP 4 — Pinterest: The FASTEST Traffic Channel Pinterest can bring 1,000–20,000 monthly sessions BEFORE Google even kicks in. My niche is PERFECT for Pinterest: • travel • Bali aesthetics • meditation quotes • soft awakening visuals • grounding practices • worldschooling But again you need a plan. To keep you posting on Pinterest. My Pinterest plan: I Create 5 pins for each blog post I Use Pinterest keywords (hugely important) I Pin daily using scheduling I Link every pin to my blog Pinterest is often the bridge that gets bloggers to Mediavine while waiting for SEO to mature. Especially if you have a brand new blog, because new blogs don't have much domain authority to begin with and will need time to show Google that you are here to stick around, the authority on all things xyz and show it that you mean business. I can't stress Pinterest enough. Think of it as your Search Engine for images. 🚀 STEP 5 — Build Authority Pages (Google Needs This) Create: ✔ About Me Page with our personal story Google LOVES this for EEAT. ✔ Start Here Page (your meditation intro!) ✔ Contact Page ✔ Resources Page This increases trust and boosts rankings. 🚀 STEP 6 — Build Internal Linking Every time I publish a blog post I: • link it to 3–5 related posts • update older posts to link to new content Google sees this as “topical depth.” This can double your traffic. Because the old posts rank well and showing new posts around the topic shows authority relevance. 🚀 STEP 7 — Monthly Content Themes for Momentum Here’s my first 6 months: Month 1: Meditation + Soft Awakening Grow your “Start Here” section. Month 2: Bali Travel Basics Begin your travel authority. Month 3: Ubud + Canggu Deep Dives Google LOVES area guides. Month 4: Worldschooling Starter Content Attract high-value readers. Month 5: Advanced Bali Guides Temples, wellness, hidden gems. Month 6: Transformation / Healing Your signature category. This helped me build BOTH traffic AND brand identity. 🚀 STEP 8 — I Track Progress: Check monthly on Google Analytics and Google Webmaster: • impressions (these should go up first) • click-through rate • keyword ranking improved • sessions growing If impressions go up, traffic WILL follow. 🚀 STEP 9 — Timeline Expectations (REALISTIC) Here’s what a normal growth curve looks like if you follow this plan: Months 1–3: Traffic increases from 0 → 2,000–5,000 (early SEO indexing + Pinterest) Months 4–6: Traffic 5,000 → 12,000 (Google trust begins) Months 7–12: Traffic 12,000 → 30,000 (content compounding, backlinks appearing) Months 12–18: Traffic 30,000 → 50,000+ (you become an authority site) THIS is the normal, achievable growth pattern for a dedicated blogger. THIS is the system — and full-time hours make this SO doable. Things that kept me going in the early day. IMPORTANT ENCOURAGEMENT that i needed to hear that you might too: You already have: ✔ the writing talent ✔ the lived experience ✔ the niche ✔ the voice ✔ the time ✔ the depth ✔ the consistency potential ✔ the emotional resilience ✔ the awakening story ✔ the Bali factor ✔ the SEO-friendly topics ✔ and a rapidly growing spiritual identity With all the above in mind we're not trying to do something outrageous. We’re stepping into something totally aligned with our own personal paths, our brand, our story, our purpose. And you could too - just your story, your path, your purpose. Our own blog growth and our own awakening were NOT separate journeys. This blog was simply another place where our awakening could expresses itself. And with that it became a point that we Must Write and Grow rather than a hobby. And that's now what keeps us writing. So long a s we can help others on their own journey. I hoped this helped you. Let me know in the comments below if you liked this post. I hope it's inspired you to show you what's truthfully possible. Many think that starting a blog will start earning great money almost immediately, but with a more realistic view and the right strategy you can be earning enough from your own blog for it to become your main income (with great foundations to scale) More On This Topic: How To Earn Money From Blogging How Bloggers Make Money From Blogging Grab Your Free Blogging SEO Checklist Best Blogging Platforms Don't Miss A Thing! Have you ever wondered how bloggers actually make money? Or why people put out content for others to read? Like, what's the point. Can one even earn well by doing this? well, for the eagle eyed of you who noticed - I already told you the 2 main ways above. From running ads on your blog and from having affiliate links on your blog. But pretend I didn't just tell you that and you just don't know. Well, this was me. I started blogging in 2007 as a blog that I started alongside my online gift business, which soon turned into a blog about mainly me and my small family life whilst running a business. I didn't start that blog to earn money, but as time went on and I found my passion in writing, I also started to realise just how profitable blogging can be. It doesn't happen overnight . But I can now tell you from experience that it begins with a passion and a love of the topics I write about firstly, followed by a personal learning journey for the blogger (getting better at the online skills), learning everything possible about SEO and how to get seen by Google and other search engines. Which by this point, your blog will be starting to get seen and you can start to look at all the ways that you can turn your passion into an earning hobby. One that potentially can change your life. Whilst you're waiting for Google and other search engines to pick you up. Start using Pinterest. Pinterest is an amazing Visual SEO Tool that can grow your blog traffic practically overnight if you use it right. Even as a beginner with practically zero traffic to your blog or website. Check out This Step by Step Guide to using Pinterest to Grow Affiliate Traffic to Your Blog in 2026 . On this blog I will show you: How to set up Google AdSense and get it added to your blog to start earning money the very next day after getting approved. And in future blogs I will share loads more blogging info if you are interested in earning from your blog - helpful stuff such as the best niches for blogging in 2026, how to start a blog, best blogging platform, places to get your blog listed on that will generate you FREE traffic, SEO tips (Search Engine Optimisation) for the beginners and things you must do to ensure a healthy start for a new blog. As well as SEO tips for growing your blog to monetization (when you've already got a blog and want to take it to the next level or 'levelling up' as I call it - the stage I'm currently at with this blog). I know how to successfully start, grow and earn from blogging. I started a blog that earned 5 figures. This current blog has just got monetized and started earning a small amount of money daily which I plan to scale and show you how I'm doing it. So you can see how easy / or difficult it is to earn money blogging. I believe that good SEO is key to growing a blog. In my day job I'm an SEO consultant for 2 online brands. I also have my own online gift business that creates 6 figures with ZERO ADVERTISING. All sales from that business are driven purely by having good quality SEO - and blogging is much the same. Nail the SEO and the traffic will come. Traffic = views | Views = money if you follow the below and get your blog ready to be monetized with ads and affiliate links. So I feel have a lot of skills to share around this topic. And I share them all for free on this blog. Even though you may not be 'selling' physical products on your blog, the SEO principle is the same - to get more eyes / views on your content that will in turn generate more ad revenue. I'll share as much on that topic as you want to know. Please do drop me a comment to let me know what you would like to see on this blog and where you are on your own blogging journey and journey to your freedom life. Blogging can be an extremely lucrative way to earn money online . It's a location-less career too, meaning that if you have the lust for travel and freedom (like me), then you can literally work from ANYWHERE in the world with your laptop and internet connection. From home, from a terrace on the rice fields. From a coffee shop in your local village or a coffee shop by the edge of a train track in Vietnam! Or in a coconut shack by the beach in Bali below... blogging with a view Our whole family's income comes from earning online and one of those ways is through having a monetized blog. And now instead of being based 'at home' blogging, we travel the world blogging. BUT I do want to be totally honest here, the blogging earning journey is one that requires patience and time - don't give up your job to start blogging and think that you will earn enough to replace your salary straight away. Because the real truth that not many will tell you is - you will not earn a single penny / dime in the early days of blogging. In fact you will spend on the blog on hosting fee's and time spent writing for nothing. BUT Stick at it and there is no reason why (that sensibly), in 6 months to 1 year - you can get your blog monetized and start earning from your blog. And since timelines are speeding up on Earth, this really is no time at all. What's more, I know others that have done it faster than me. From this point there is the potential to earn really big amounts in a relatively short space of time. How you then scale your monetized blog is up to you. This blog will show you how to monetize your blog with Google Ads. Which is the easiest and fastest way to start earning from blogging (imo). How Long it Took me to start earning from Blogging? In truth, it actually took me 2 full years to actually start earning from blogging . Enough to fully cover what I was getting paid from my day job. And then I started this current blog ( The Be Nothing Like Blog ) in 2020 and am only just starting to earn money from this 4 years on. But I only started properly blogging on it in June 2024 (I just bought the domain name and set the blog up before that. Did nothing with it. What a wasted time. Just think of where it could be if I'd started) So this blog is very early on it's it's earning journey because even though it is 4 years old, I started it as hobby only posting as and when. I have just got this blog monetized using my exact steps below. And am now starting to apply my business head to grow. I plan to grow this blog like I have in the past with regular quality content. 3x per week. Which will grow my readers, views and ad revenue in time. And I will share the growth of the blog to help you too. Now that it is monetized, this blog trickles in money daily. And those daily amounts get paid into my Google AdSense account. For total clarity, and I want honesty and truth on this blog because it's here to help - this is A TINY TRICKLE - max $3 per day. So, Whilst this is not going to change my world right now, speaking from experience of earning online, I'm excited. Because once you get your blog to this stage - the monetized stage - this is the exciting part with any new blog - as soon as your blog get's traction and get's picked up by Google - you know that it is completely only down to numbers. Scale those numbers by continuing with your passion of regularly blogging and you will start earning more and more. And the more you write the more this figure compounds. You could be sat on a goldmine right now and all you had to do was START . Further on in this blog I show examples of how much ???$$$ you can realistically earn from blogging below. From the moment a blog starts earning, it's earning potential is huge and blogging is an excellent way to earn money online. Imagine getting paid for something you love - if that love is writing! And best of all you can write whilst travelling and experiencing the world with your kids (if like us, that's your thing). It can completely replace your salary and turn into that 7 figure pot you've been dreaming of. Or it can start as another income stream to go alongside your regular one, giving you freedom / choices and options (and of course more actual money!), which is also nice. Now that I am focusing on growing this blog to be the big earner that all blogs (yours included) can be! I can share it's progress with you to show you exactly how to scale a blog that's earning $3 a day to $100 a day! And $100 per day to $300 per day. Scaling is the key once you're on that blogging journey. And I plan to scale this blog in the sunshine as opposed to last time where I scaled in the UK sat looking out of the window at the grey and the drizzle. But first, read on to find out HOW to get monetized with Adsense . So you can start earning from blogging. Whilst earning from blogging isn't going to be a fast fix get rich quick scheme. I definitely recommend starting that blog TODAY. Join me! I can definitely pass on the information that I learned that got me monetized so that you can get monetized too. And earning online more than I ever could with my regular job. And now with this blog, show you from pretty early on in it's Monetization stage - how to scale those daily cents and pennies to pounds and dollars. And take you along with me on how that's going. But first HOW DO I GET MY BLOG MONETIZED WITH GOOGLE ADS? Here's the good bit: How does one make money online from their blog? There are many ways actually, but the easiest and main way is through advertising. Actively or passively with Google AdSense and as your blog grows other sites that will triple/quadruple what Google pays (but first, baby steps, and more on these sites another day!) Advertising on blogs Blog monetisation through advertising is a strategy where you allow companies to place ads on your blog, and in return you earn revenue. It’s all about placing the right ads that resonate with the reader, turning every click and view into money in your pocket. The more traffic and engagement you have. The more valuable your space is to advertisers. This is why having good SEO is crucial. Once you’re hitting around 1000 visitors per day, you can start to see meaningful earnings from ads. The easiest way to start earning on your blog from advertising is through Google Adsense. But after blogging consistently you might only have 100 views per day. There are ways to increase and scale your blog, just like anything in life, when dealing with numbers. It really is just a numbers game. So if you got to 100 views a day from blogging (great job), you can now work on getting to 1000. If you got to 1000 you can get to 10,000 (see what kinds of amounts of money these kind of numbers can earn you below). And this is how I started to start earning from blogging. With this blog I've just started to have ads through Adsense, which earn very small daily amounts. As mentioned earlier, these payments are very small - but from small acorns grow mighty oak trees and I know from other blogs that once at acorn stage, the seed has been planted and if you write and learn, the blog grows from this point with very visible daily results £££$$$. The below is an actual real example of a live ad on my blog. For every person that views this little ad below as they're reading all of the valuable free info I give in this blog post, I get a small amount in payment in my Google Adsense Account daily. (This is not a lot $$££ see the exact amounts that you can expect to get paid from placing these ads throughout your blog below). But these amounts increase as my blog traffic grows and it compounds as I add more content and grow the blog. Here is an example of a live ad on this blog : This ad was placed here by myself at writing stage (using a snippet of html code given to me by Google Adsense). I don't decide what YOU see on this ad. Google decides on all of that to put the most relevant ads in front of the most relevant people. And I love that with Google Adsense that I don't have to do any of the guesswork. Just copy and paste the code and google does the rest, freeing me up to be creative and just write! If you're interested and wondering how this blog has evolved and is becoming a new revenue source for me, wondering what you could start blogging about? Well you can literally start a blog about anything. Your hobby, You as a person. Your journey overcoming something and how you did it. I have another blog but this blog is around 2 years old of actual live writing and is only just starting to earn money for me. It started as my personal blog as a mum of 40 making sense of my life so far , talking about my healing journey from having depression all of my life to living my dream life. A blog to document our journey from our idea and dream of wanting to make the move from UK to Bali, to manifesting that move and moving my whole family to Bali . And then documenting our life as we did it . A personal diary if you like, that kept me accountable. As time went on it's changed into adding more things that would help others in terms of freeing themselves financially and mentally from being slaves to an unfulfilled life. When I started blogging I didn't want to talk about the really personal stuff, but as time went on I realised that talking helped. And in me being personal, I could help more people and so I overcame any shyness and now talk openly on this blog and on my YouTube channel if I feel that it will help humanity. And that's my goal. I want to help. From talking about our spiritual awakening that we have been on these last couple of years and how that felt, what happened etc, so others also experiencing similar, didn't feel as alone as we did. And then onto more bigger topics of how we are all Energy , The Laws of The Universe and our spiritual work that we do and being a lightworker. If you're a blogger looking to turn your passion into profit, like I did, Google AdSense is one of the most popular ways to earn money from your website. AdSense is a simple and effective way to monetize your content by displaying targeted ads that earn you revenue every time a user clicks or views them. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to set up an AdSense account, explain how AdSense works, and give you an idea of what kind of earnings you can expect from your blog. What is Google AdSense? Google AdSense is an advertising program run by Google that allows website owners and bloggers to display ads on their site. Adsense is one of the most popular advertising networks for bloggers. It serves as a bridge between advertisers and blog publishers. You can apply for google Adsense even as a relatively new blogger (6 months of blogging content) and as your traffic grows you’ll start seeing cents and pennies mounting up in your account each day. But as your traffic grows, so do those cents and pennies that grow into dollars and pounds each day. Grow your traffic and you will grow your income. And the earnings are limitless. All through having a few ads on each blog that you write. These ads are contextually relevant to your content and target the users who visit your site. Google serves a mix of ad types, including display ads, text ads, and video ads, and you earn money every time someone interacts with one of them. How Does Google AdSense Work? AdSense operates on a pay-per-click (PPC) and pay-per-impression (CPM) basis: Pay-Per-Click (PPC) : You earn money every time a visitor clicks on an ad displayed on your blog. Cost-Per-Thousand Impressions (CPM) : You earn money based on the number of times the ad is shown to users, regardless of whether they click on it or not. This is typically measured in CPM , or cost per 1,000 impressions. Now that you have a general understanding of AdSense, let’s walk through how to set it up for your blog in 3 easy steps. Step 1: Prepare Your Blog for AdSense You don't have to have a big amazing all bells and whistles blog. Just start your blog. See my blog on the power of just starting ! Write on that blog for around 6 months (or sooner) and apply. Before applying for AdSense, you need to ensure your blog meets some of their basic requirements however. And if you're just thinking of starting a blog, it's best to know these before hand so you can start thinking at the very beginning of how in time you could monetize your blog. I wish I knew this info before starting my blog as it would have kept me accountable into writing more often to get my traffic up sooner. If I had a goal to work towards (like getting my blog up to around 100 readers per day and fast, Id have committed to writing a lot more than just one post per week. I saw this blog as my personal diary and so wrote content as and when). If I'd have set out much sooner on my growth for earnings journey, then I'd have been earning a lot sooner than I did. I want this for every blogger out there. Because why not. Get paid for doing something you love sooner. Google has specific policies that your site needs to follow to be eligible for AdSense. Key Requirements: Original Content : Your blog should have unique and valuable content that provides real value to readers. Avoid copying or plagiarising content. At Least 6 Months of Content : While this isn't an official requirement, having a blog that’s been live for at least 6 months with consistent traffic and quality content can increase your chances of approval. Adequate Site Navigation : Your blog should have clear navigation menus, a privacy policy, and easy-to-find contact details. Google likes well-organized and professional sites. Mobile Friendly : Your site must be responsive and work well on mobile devices. Enough Traffic : While there’s no set traffic threshold, a site with some consistent daily visitors (around 100–200 visits per day) will be more likely to get approved. Step 2: Create a Google AdSense Account Once your blog is ready, you can sign up for an AdSense account. Here’s how: Visit the Google AdSense Website : Go to the official AdSense website at www.google.com/adsense . Sign in with Google Account : You’ll need a Google account to sign up for AdSense. If you don’t already have one, create it. Complete Your Application : Enter your website URL, personal details, and other necessary information. Google will ask you about your blog’s content, traffic sources, and audience. Submit for Review : After submitting the form, Google will review your application. This can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. During this time, ensure your blog is well-maintained and has enough content. Important Note: During the review process, Google will check for content quality and adherence to its policies. Your account might be rejected if the site doesn’t meet the guidelines, but you can always fix the issues and reapply after a few months. Step 3: Set Up AdSense Ads on Your Blog Once your account is approved, you can start displaying ads on your blog. Here’s how to add AdSense ads to your site: Log into AdSense : Go to your AdSense account and navigate to the "Ads" section. Create Ad Units : You can choose from different ad formats, including display ads, text ads, and responsive ads. Customize the size and style of the ads to fit your blog’s design. Generate Ad Code : After creating your ad units, Google will provide you with ad codes. Copy these codes. Place Ad Codes on Your Blog : Paste the ad code into your blog’s HTML where you want the ads to appear. You can add ads to your sidebar, header, footer, or within the content. Most blogging platforms, like WordPress, also allow you to use widgets to place the ad code without touching the HTML. Tips for Maximizing AdSense Revenue: Positioning : Place ads above the fold (the part of the page visible without scrolling) or within content where visitors are more likely to engage. Ad Balance : Use a balance between ads and content. Too many ads can negatively affect the user experience. Responsive Ads : Choose responsive ad units to ensure ads look good on both desktops and mobile devices. Step 4: Monitor Performance and Optimize After your ads are live, you can track your earnings through the AdSense dashboard. Here, you can see how much you're making, what ads are performing well, and which pages are generating the most revenue. Optimizing Your Earnings: Experiment with Different Ad Placements : Test placing ads in various locations on your blog to see which areas generate the most clicks and impressions. Focus on High-CPC Keywords : Research high-CPC (cost-per-click) keywords in your niche to attract higher-paying ads. Improve Your Traffic : The more visitors your blog attracts, the more likely your ads will be viewed and clicked, increasing your revenue. Potential Earnings from my experience in my own blogging journey This is my experience. For comparison, I've also included the official research findings too below. My earnings vary, but with good traffic you can earn around $3 per 1000 views ($0.30 per 100 views) of a single ad placed. This may sound small but it adds up with constant traffic and engagement. Let's work it out below... Let’s say you have 10,000 daily readers each reading just 3 of your posts. And let’s say you have put 5 ads on each of your blog posts. That would be (10,000 views x 3 posts x 5 ads) 150,000 views. For 150,000 views that would be $450 / £356. This is daily! Now earning $450 / £356 daily from a single blog is amazing right? Hence why we love writing for our blog because the earnings can be tremendous! Multiply this daily amount by 30 days in a month and you can start to see earnings and compare to monthly earnings of a salary. Using these figures you can think of this monthly as a salary of around $13,500/£10,600 It’s important to state here, that this isn’t guaranteed, and does vary daily as the number of readers fluctuates daily as well as the ad amount paid, but as a general rule you are looking at this average of $3 every 1000 views as a guide. On this new blog we average £0.35 every 100 views, which as we scale will scale to $3.50 every 1000 views at the moment but this previous example was from a lifestyle blog. Finance and money blogs ad revenue is much higher than this $3, think more in terms of $5-$13. So ad earnings really will depend on the niche you choose. How Much Can You Earn with Google AdSense? The Official Stand point: The amount you can earn with AdSense depends on several factors, including traffic volume, niche, visitor location, and ad placement. However, to give you an estimate: Average AdSense Earnings: Cost Per Thousand Impressions (CPM) : Typically, you can expect to earn anywhere from $1 to $5 per 1,000 impressions. For blogs with low traffic, the CPM could be on the lower end, while established blogs with a lot of traffic may earn more. Cost Per Click (CPC) : Earnings per click can range from $0.10 to $2 , depending on the niche and the type of ads displayed. For example, finance or tech blogs tend to earn more per click than lifestyle or entertainment blogs. Example: If you have a blog that receives 10,000 pageviews a month, you could potentially earn between $10 to $50 per month from AdSense, depending on your CPC and CPM rates. To earn substantial income with AdSense, most bloggers will need consistent traffic, good ad placement, and high-quality content. Typically, with around 100,000 pageviews per month , bloggers could earn anywhere between $500 to $2,000 per month, but it takes time to build up that level of traffic. Ad placement is crucial for this. You will need to put your ads where they’re visible but not intrusive - like at the top of your blog or in-between paragraphs. Too many ads can be annoying for readers too. So try not to spam ads everywhere in your blog. It’s all about finding the perfect balance when it comes to your ads. One that earns well for you and doesn’t annoy the reader. That happy medium. I find around 3-5 ads per blog depending on the size of the blog. Although if I'm giving lot's of free and super helpful content to a page I will add more (like this) because the reader is getting loads of value from the blog and doesn't mind the ads it's almost like a trade off for good quality bumf - you don't mind skimming past the ads. But you can trial your own pages and dow whats right for your your style and readers) So how do we go from 0-100 views (earning $0.30 per day), to 100-1,000 views earning $3 a day, from 1,000-10,000 views earning $30 a day and then from 10,000-100,000 views earning $300 a day? Well, To increase your blog views from 100 to 1000, you will need to focus on creating high-quality, relevant content, optimizing for search engines (SEO), promoting your blog on social media, building an email list, guest posting on other websites, and consistently publishing new content on a regular schedule, while also analyzing your data to understand your audience and refine your strategy . And this is the same for those bigger numbers, only you do it for longer. Stay committed and get better at your blogging game. But it's really not rocket science and you must remind yourself that if others are doing ti - then so can I! And this is my motto for everything in life. Everything is learnable!! Conclusion Monetizing your blog with Google AdSense is a great way to generate passive income, but it requires time, effort, and consistency. By focusing on high-quality content, growing your traffic, and optimizing ad placements, you can turn your blog into a source of income. Although AdSense earnings may start small, with the right strategy, you can scale your revenue over time. To summarise: there are huge earning potentials to be had from writing a blog and earning from it. But remembering these key tips will help you turn your writing hobby into a lucrative earning possibility. Remember: Content is king - create engaging content that attracts readers Apply and connect google Adsense Place ads sensibly and carefully to keep balance Content is king- I already said this, but I can’t reiterate this enough. Once you added the AdSense to your blog, it’s kind of time to forget about it. And only concentrate on the writing. Give informative, well SEO’d content regularly and concentrate only on content over earning. The earnings will come if you do this. But don’t expect to start a blog and for it to earn immediately. Take the time to make writing a daily practice. Write about things that you love. Be consistent with the writing and as your traffic grows (which it will if you do all of these things) so will the earnings. In my first 2 years I earned $30 a year from my first blog!! Not even enough to even cover the hosting fee’s. My blog was costing me money! But as I found my feet and saw that my 100 views = $0.30 per day I saw how scalable this was and it was purely just a numbers game and here's my simple blogging formula: Create 10x more quality engaging blog posts to 10x earnings to $3 a day. And once there create 10x more quality and engaging blog posts to 10x those earnings to $300 a day! And this blog is now at this $1-$3 a day stage. - Discovering Galungan in Bali: A Celebration of Goodness and Harmony
We felt so lucky to see our very first Galungan celebration in Bali in 2024, when we'd not long since stepped into our full time travel adventure and we had been enjoying watching the preparations happen all around our village as the run up to the celebration see's Bali looking even more beautiful than ever. Come with us as we learn all about this special sacred festival that happens each year in Bali… This post explains what Galungan is and what to expect around that time on the island and how you can get involved in the celebrations where good triumphs evil and energy and balance is restored on the island. If you're interested in Our Story - from living a Depressed and Disconnected life in the UK where after a spiritual awakening - we choose life instead. We sold everything & took a leap of faith to follow our intuition to raise our vibration and live the life of our dreams travelling the world , worldschooling our kids and building our dream home in Bali . If this resonates with you please subscribe to our blog + YouTube channel And now that you know us, we're friends, let's jump right in to todays Galungan blog. We didn't know what Galugan was when we first arrived. We noticed the streets filling up with even more decorations and ornaments than usual. Where the offerings were extra colourful and fuller than usual, and the streets are lined with bamboo decorations... literally everywhere. It's was beautiful walking around the village to see the Penjor being made and then put up along the streets and outside of homes. As if Bali needed another excuse to make itself prettier than she already is. It became one of our world school topics and just wandering around the streets to take photos became a daily ritual for us as a family. Btw, this was in 2024 and this year - Galungan 2026 runs 17–27 June — and is a really beautiful time to witness Bali’s deep spiritual culture. The night before Galungan, the men and boys post the penjor in the ground by the entrance of the family home. More about the penjor a little below. The decorations may look pretty but the whole celebration is a time for spiritual unity and reflection, where the aim is to achieve peaceful thoughts and convictions. Overall the festival celebrates the victory of dharma (truth) over adharma (evil). These notions are definitely one of the pulls of Bali for us as we navigate our own truth and spiritual awakening. One of working with frequency and energy and raising consciousness. And so, it's been beautiful to watch as Bali prepares for Galungan. Watch my quick impromptu walk around the village here to see the preparations of Galungan. What is Galungan? Galungan is one of the most significant and vibrant celebrations in Bali, Indonesia, marked by a unique blend of cultural traditions, spiritual beliefs, and community togetherness. Galungan is a time when the spirits of ancestors are believed to return to Earth, allowing families to honour and celebrate their heritage. The festival is rich with cultural practices that emphasise community, spirituality, and the importance of family ties. And each family home will hang a penjor outside their house. This sacred holiday, which occurs every 210 days in accordance with the Balinese calendar, celebrates the victory of dharma (goodness) over adharma (evil) and is deeply rooted in the island's Hindu traditions. If you're planning to experience Galungan or simply want to learn more about this enchanting celebration, this guide will walk you through its significance, traditions, and calendar of events. The celebration involves offerings to Sang Hyang Widhi (the Supreme God) and Dewa Bhatara (the gods and goddesses in their various manifestations) as expressions of gratitude. The Significance of Galungan Galungan symbolises the time when the spirits of deceased ancestors visit the living. It is a period for Balinese Hindus to honour their ancestors, reflect on their spiritual lives, and seek blessings for their families and communities. The celebration spans ten days, culminating in the festival of Kuningan, which marks the end of the celebration. Key Themes of Galungan Dharma vs. Adharma: Galungan is a reminder of the constant struggle between good and evil in the world. Family and Community: It emphasises the importance of family bonds and community unity through shared rituals and celebrations. Cultural Heritage: The festival showcases the rich cultural heritage of Bali, reflected in art, music, dance, and culinary traditions. Galungan is a time for: Spiritual Reflection: A chance to reconnect with spiritual roots and reflect on life’s moral values. Family Unity: Emphasises the importance of family gatherings and communal activities. Cultural Heritage: Showcases Bali's rich traditions through rituals, music, and dance. We've updated this post with updated 2026 dates Discovering Galungan - Calendar of Events While the exact dates for Galungan change each year due to the Balinese lunar calendar, the festivities generally come every 6 months. For 2026, the Galungan festival in Bali is between 17th June 2026 - 27th June 2026. falls on: Here is the Galungan calendar for this year 2026: Galungan Calendar for September 2026 Key Dates Hari Raya Galungan falls on 2 key dates in 2026: 🌸 Galungan Day: 17 June 2026 🌼 Kuningan (10 days later): 27 June 2026 These dates mark the start and end of the 10-day celebration according to the Balinese Pawukon calendar. We're here for both Celebrations. One of the distinctive features of the Galungan celebration is the installation of penjor, tall bamboo poles decorated with offerings, lining the streets and creating a natural ambiance. That we've been seeing in the run up to each Galungan, being made, assembled and put up by locals. It truly is a beautiful place to be around this time. We've been doing some learning with the kids as part of their Bali and Hindu worldschooling projects and have been learning about all things Galungan: Preparation Days Leading up to Galungan, families prepare by creating beautiful penjor (decorative bamboo poles) and traditional offerings (banten). The atmosphere in markets and villages becomes lively as everyone gets ready for the celebration. Post-Galungan Events Family Reunions: The days following Galungan are typically spent visiting extended family, sharing meals, and exchanging stories about ancestral heritage. Temple Offerings: Throughout the week following Kuningan, families continue to make offerings at local temples, further honouring their ancestors. Celebratory Traditions 1. Penjor Decoration The streets and homes of Bali are adorned with penjor— it looks so pretty. Decorative bamboo poles that are elegantly curved and decorated with offerings. These are placed outside homes and temples as a symbol of respect for the gods and ancestors. 2. Traditional Offerings (Banten) Families prepare a variety of offerings called banten, which include fruits, cakes, and incense. These offerings are made to express gratitude and seek blessings for prosperity and harmony. 3. Family Gatherings and Feasts Galungan is a time for family reunions, where relatives come together to enjoy traditional Balinese dishes, such as Babi Guling (suckling pig), Lawar (mixed meat salad), and various sweet treats. 4. Cultural Performances Throughout the festival, traditional Balinese dance performances and gamelan music echo in the temples and public spaces, creating a vibrant atmosphere of joy and reverence. Conclusion Experiencing Galungan in Bali has so far been a really special time and we can't wait to celebrate in 2026 which falls at the same time that Mr Boo turns 10 (double figures!). We'll be heading out for a walk to look at the penjor and visit a temple to see the locals in their beautiful clothing. We'll be doing lot's of mindful activities with the kids and mostly spend Galungan in peace, and quiet reflection in honor of our neighbours. We'll share pictures on the blog and our YouTube channel of course. This is the island's rich cultural heritage, spiritual practices, and communal values and Galungan is a celebration that brings together the past, present, and future in a beautiful tapestry of life, love, and spirituality. This is the heart and soul of Bali. And THIS is the reason why we came. - Our Experience of a Bali Luwak Coffee Plantation Tour
A Journey Through the World of Luwak Coffee: Our Bali Plantation Tour in Ubud Watch our YouTube vid of our Bali Luwak Coffee Plantation visit below When we embarked on our first Bali month long trial (to see whether we could make the big move to Bali with our 2 kids), we took an unexpected trip to the above Luwak coffee plantation in Bali. Btw, If you're interested in Our Story of how we went from living a Depressed and Disconnected life in the UK to living the life of our dreams travelling the world , worldschooling our kids and building our dream home in Uluwatu, Bali then I've linked some blog posts above that you may like. And if not, Let's jump in to todays blog: The lowdown on our experience of a trip to a Luwak Coffee Plantation in Ubud . This post includes affiliate links that we may receive a small commission from at no extra cost to you. Thank You for supporting our blog! Unexpectedly, as we'd just been to a Water Purification Ceremony with a Balinese family that we'd met, who asked if we wanted to visit a coffee plantation. You can just visit a plantation yourself or you can book a guided tour like this top rated tour which combines a Sunrise Hike up Mount Batur with a Luwak plantation visit. This time, we were without kids and I'm glad about that. The kids would definitely enjoy the learning aspect of the coffee tour for sure, and the nature as you walk around. But our kids are sensitive little sausages when it comes to animals being caged up. They wouldn't have enjoyed seeing the Luwak (Civet) animals caged up. We didn't really want to visit the Luwak Coffee place, but our Balinese friends were being so sweet to us, showing us around their local area. Balinese people are the kindest people we've encountered on our travels. They knew we loved coffee and suggested what they thought we would like to see. Sometimes the easiest option is to just smile and say 'ok' and do something that you might not ordinarily do. We love coffee. We love seeing new things. We love animals. So the visit was conflicting for us from the start. It's important to note at the beginning here that nothing bad was happening to the animals. At the tour, there was a civet animal in a cage (the animals that produce this coffee). The civet looked healthy and looked after. But from the start I'll just point out that vibrationally this didn't feel right for us. Since we go off energy, it didn't feel like a place that we wanted to enter. And we wouldn't return. We personally don't enjoy zoo's for the same reason. And despite our full time travel life in Thailand - we have never - would never do elephant riding tours and such. That said the education side of things was a great way to spend an hour or so learning all about the processing of the amazing coffee bean that comes from the Civets bum! There are many people that are against Luwak coffee for being an abusive animal practice and also that it's actually very difficult to find authentic and ethically produced Luwak coffee. This post isn't written to discuss that side of kopi luwak and it's production, but has been written to educate and inform of our experience of visiting a luwak coffee plantation, so that you can plan your next Bali itinerary. There were many tourists enjoying the tour and there was a chance to buy some Luwak Coffee at the end of the tour. So people do seem to enjoy this kind of thing. We wanted to share our experience of visiting the Luwak Coffee Plantation in Bali so that coffee lovers can make their own mind up whether to visit a Luwak Coffee Tour for themselves when next on their Bali vacation. Bahasa Indonesia Language Lesson: COFFEE = KOPI. Prounced (koh-pee). When speaking Bahasa we put the noun first so Luwak coffee would be Kopi Luwak. Luwak pronounced (Loo-Wak). What is Luwak Coffee? Kopi Luwak, is one of the rarest coffees in the world. And up there with one of the most expensive coffees too. Also known as civet coffee, kopi luwak is a coffee that consists of partially digested coffee cherries, that the Asian palm civets LOVE to eat, which have been eaten and pooped out. The cherries are fermented as they pass through the civet's intestines, and are collected after being pooped out. The belief is that the digestive enzymes remove the acidity from the coffee beans. Why is Luwak coffee so expensive? It's expensive because of the unusual lengthy processing that it goes through. The time and expense that goes into farming the beans. First the cherry orchards maintenance, then the cherries needing to be eaten and processed through the digestive system of an animal and extracted from it's poop. All requiring care and costs. The belief is that the digestive enzymes remove the acidity from the coffee beans, resulting in a smoother cup of coffee. The average cup of Luwak Coffee in Bali costs around $30 US dollars. It's believed that because of these high prices that Luwak coffee can demand over a normal cup of coffee, that the whole process is unregulated and thus prices have been driven up by the lack of regulation and tourists all wanting to try and take home that famour Luwak Coffee. Some places in Bali charge up to $80 US Dollars for one single cup. Hmmmm. The Allure or put off (depending on how you look at it) of Luwak Coffee Luwak coffee, or Kopi Luwak as it’s known locally, is renowned for its rarity and distinctive flavour profile. What sets it apart is its unusual production process. The coffee beans for Luwak coffee, are consumed and then excreted by the civet cat, a small, nocturnal mammal found in Southeast Asia. The beans pass through the civet’s digestive tract, where they are fermented and undergo a transformation that purportedly enhances their flavour. Arrival at the Plantation As we arrived at the plantation, we were greeted by the warm Balinese sun and a serene landscape of verdant coffee trees. The plantation itself was a picturesque sight—a blend of traditional Balinese architecture and lush coffee fields. Our guide welcomed us with a friendly smile and a brief overview of what lay ahead. A Walk Through the Coffee Fields Our first stop was a stroll through the coffee fields. I personally loved this part. The plantation was a vibrant tapestry of green, with coffee trees bearing clusters of red and green cherries. We learned about the different stages of coffee cultivation, from the careful planting of the coffee saplings to the meticulous harvesting of the cherries. The guide explained the importance of soil quality, altitude, and climate in producing high-quality coffee beans. And showed us beans in different stages of their growth. Meeting the Civets Next, we visited the civet enclosure, which was rather sad. A lone civet lay on a branch, looking sleepy and sad. The civet, is a beautiful creature, with a distinctive striped tail and beautiful eyes. Our guide explained that these animals are well cared for and live in a controlled environment to ensure their well-being. We were told that the civet in the cage, is in there for only a few hours then returned to it's natural habitat, for another covet to be replaced. I'm not a fan of zoo's and so didn't feel good about this. Check out our YouTube Video of the Luwak Coffee Plantation visit | Pinterest The Processing of Luwak Coffee The most fascinating part of the tour was witnessing the processing of Luwak coffee. We saw the collected beans being carefully cleaned, dried, and roasted. The roasting process was particularly intriguing, as the beans were transformed from green to a rich, aromatic brown. The guide shared insights into how roasting time and temperature affect the flavour profile of the coffee. A Coffee Tasting Experience No visit to a coffee plantation is complete without a tasting session. We were led to a cozy tasting area overlooking the picturesque fields. The staff prepared a selection of coffees, including the highly sought-after Luwak coffee. Each cup was a revelation. The Luwak coffee was exceptionally smooth, with a unique richness and depth of flavour. We also sampled other varieties, each with its own distinct notes and nuances. Reflecting on the Whole Bali Luwak Experience As we sipped our coffee and soaked in the stunning views, we reflected on the intricate journey from bean to cup. The visit had given us a profound appreciation for the craftsmanship and dedication involved in producing Luwak coffee. It wasn’t just about the coffee itself but the entire process—we hoped that the Balinese culture of care and respect for animals is applied to the civets at the plantation. They certainly looked well cared for, but still we can't help feel sad about an animal caged for profit. Our day at the Luwak coffee plantation overall was an immersive experience that connected us to the rich traditions and sustainable practices of Balinese coffee cultivation. It would have been much better to see just a video or pictures of the civets in their natural habitat, rather than see this lone civet caged up. At the end you get to stop by the shop to buy some coffee. We bought a coconut coffee from the one we loved the most from our tasting experience. It's no secret that we more than enjoy a cup of coffee , and it was a good experience to understand the journey the bean has taken to reach our cups, even if it is through an animals bum. If you find yourself in Bali and have an appreciation for coffee, a visit to a Luwak coffee plantation is an experience that offers a deep dive into one of the world’s most intriguing coffee traditions. But many have an opinion on whether the whole practice is ethical or not. What do you think? - How To De-Register Your Child From School to Homeschool or Worldschool
this post has been updated to include a free version of the letter for you to copy / paste. If you want to start worldschooling your child or start home schooling your children, you’ll need to follow similar steps to what we did below. Because our kids where both in UK education and school already, we had to go through a process to de-register them from mainstream education. This blog covers our personal experience of de-registration with our kids school and the Local Education Authority, as well as your legal requirements that you need to take as Mum and Dad. Steps to Follow and what to do if you encounter resistance by school or LEA along the way (which btw they are not allowed to if you follow the steps below). De-Registering Letter Templates A day at a temple cave in Da'Nang as part of our worldschooling in Vietnam itinerary Looking to De-Register your children or child from school to start the adventure of homeschooling or worldschooling ? You’re in the right place… This post explains briefly what homeschooling / worldschooling is and how you can homeschool or worldschool your child legally in the UK and the reasons Why we choose to do so ourselves. As seen on BBC Bitesize We recently shared our expertise over on the BBC Bitesize Worldschooling website about our own experiences of worldschooling our 2 children and also share everything on our blog. And created this kit with letter templates PDFs, Journals and Everything that helped us on our own homeschooling journey to inspire other Mums and Parents that it's possible to have thriving homeschooled kids from the get go. As well as share our de-registration letter templates in our homeschool / worldschool pack to start you on your way. What are the Rules to Homeschooling in the UK? If your child has attended school already, you will have to de-register them from school and ensure they are removed from the register. This is a legal requirement for students to be legally home educated in the UK. And that's where we were at. If you don't do this the right way, the child will be classed as missing from education and you can get into trouble. So doing it the right way - is the best way. Our kids were in Class 3 (age 7) and Year 10 (age 15) and both attending different schools in the UK. So, if your child is attending a mainstream school in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you can simply de-register with a letter to the Head Teacher of their school. At an art market in Chiang Mai and Painting as part of our worldschooling in Thailand Itinerary Step By Step How To De-Register My Child From School UK Send letter of de-registration to the headteacher (use my template) Get proof or posting and send tracked if posting or hand in personally Do Nothing else. School will inform the LEA and because you as parent put your letter in writing, the LEA must remove your child from the register And it really is as simple as that. To deregister a child from a UK school, write a clear letter/email to the Headteacher stating you are withdrawing your child to home educate under the Education Act 1996, Section 7, including their name, DOB, and date of withdrawal, and get confirmation. The school must then inform the LEA who must remove. I include a few different letter templates in my worldschool kit, but feel free to copy the below FREE de-registration letter to include everything that you need: FORMAL LETTER to send to the school: SEND TO THE SCHOOL ONLY Your Name Address Date School Name School Address Dear [Head’s name] Re – Name of child . Date of birth. It is after very careful consideration and discussion that we have now decided to take full responsibility for providing for our son/daughter’s education by Home Educating them in accordance with section 7 of the 1996 Education Act. We therefore instruct school to delete [child’s name] from the school register with immediate effect, in accordance with Regulation 9(1)(f) of The School Attendance (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2024. We will ensure that our son/daughter is provided with an efficient full-time education suitable to his/her age, ability, aptitude and to any special educational needs. For the avoidance of doubt [childs name] last day attending school is [**insert date] and deregistration must be actioned as soon as this day has passed. Yours sincerely You do not need to explain WHY you are going to home educate your child. Instead, you can explain other arrangements are being made for your Childs education. I include a copy of my De-Registration Blank Template Letter in The Worldschoolers Kit below. For Scotland I know different rules apply so please check with your LEA. If you are sending this letter via post, we would recommend a trackable postal method and also save a copy of the de-registration letter for your own records to prove your compliance with law if it’s ever required. The school will inform the LEA (Local Education Authority), so you do not have to contact them personally. The school may also want to set up a meeting with you to discuss your decision, but this is not something that you are under any obligation to attend, although you may wish to maintain a relationship with the school going forwards and so, it might be in your interest to meet briefly with them. We personally didn’t get asked to do anything like this and also if we had, we knew that we didn't need to explain ourselves or our decision. If you’re asked directly where the children will go to school, you can answer or just inform them that you’ve made other arrangements for their education. Many parents feel as though they must tell and justify their decision to a school or LEA. You do not! The education of YOUR children is up to YOURSELF as a their living Mother or Father. Some educators are not knowledgable about the laws concerning home education and may provide resistance to your decision. But it’s really important here as Mum and Dad to remember your rights and try to educate the individuals that are giving you any resistance. The school does not need to ‘approve’ your home educating plans or education programme. You do not have to show your qualifications or special training to do so. Education in the UK is compulsory, however schooling is not. And as parents it's up to us to decide what a an appropriate education is. It's a fundamental parental right to home educate your own children. You do not have to submit your work for approval etc although you may want to keep a record of it for memories and future proof for school or college. Worldschooling in Barcelona - First we wrote shopping list, then went shopping and Boo spoke Spanish to order the food and pay in local currency all on his own, then he cooked our evening Spanish Tapas night with Dad and served the girls homemade Sangria and delicious food like Spanish waiters. We turn everyday chores into rich positive learning experiences. According to the UK Education (Pupil Registration) Regulation 8(1)(d), a school-age pupils name must be deleted from the admissions register if they have ceased to attend the school and the school has received written notification from the parent that the pupil is receiving education somewhere other than than at school. Which means that If you use my De-Registering Letter Template this means they must quickly de-register your child (the pupil) if you request in writing. My Awesome Worldschoolers Kit includes everything that you will need to de-register your child as well as other tools to make your transition seamless. So you remove the fear and doubt and thrive from the very first day. The De-Registering Letter Template inside the kit is a Sample Student De-Registration Letter for all school ages that covers all that is required to start your home education program in the UK. Our letter was a little bit different to the sample letter in that we were not going to be home educating in the UK but rather world schooling instead. So, home educating but with travel and around the world. And so I've also included a template letter inside the kit if that's your plan also. What Do I Do if I Encounter Resistance from the School? In our situation, there was no resistance to our choice to home educate, but I do know some parents that have had difficulty and resistance. If you are worried about this possibly coming up when you de-register your child from school your can use the Follow Up Letter Template in the pack that addresses this in a polite, yet factual manner applying rules of the Law to support. But like I mentioned, we encountered some miffed off attitudes but no challenges. You must remember that by de-registering your child from mainstream education, what you are essentially saying to the Teachers and the system they represent is that you don’t want your children in that system. For whatever your reasons are. We have 2 teachers in our close family and after speaking with them we understand that this can be how teachers may feel. It can feel really personal for Teachers as they dedicate their lives to this system, these rules and most truly believe the system they uphold works and is for the only good of children. And for us, it wasn’t even that we were against the school system at the time. We were just ready for a challenge and an adventure with our kids whilst they were still young enough. We were sick of the rat race life. And we were sick of hardly seeing our own kids, handing them over every day to other people. Plus we had a full itinerary planned - our own varied and wide curriculum that we wanted the freedom to teach. And those were the main reasons for us. There were more and you can read in more detail about The 7 Reasons Why We Decided to Homeschool our Children . But overall it wasn’t some big rebellion against the system. So whatever your reasons for wanting to homeschool or world school your children, then the reasons don't matter. What matters is that you banish the fear that society puts on us to follow our own life plan to live a life where we all thrive as families rather than shoe horning ourselves into a life, an identity, a system that doesn't fit all. More On This Topic: What is Worldschooling v Homeschooling? Reasons Why We're Wordlschooling 3 Months of Worldschooling - Our Homeschooling Journey 3 Months in I hoped this post helped you. I hope it's inspired and empowered you to take control of your own child's learning and education in a way that suits them and you. For some people school fits - and they could never dream of taking their kids out of school to home school them. But for us as a family, it just didn't. For other parents, they are simply not aware that home schooling or world schooling is even an option. And for so long we fell in this category - we had dreams of travel and a life where we educated the kids ourselves in world school hubs with likeminded families etc, but we were scared or didn't even know home schooling was even possible. It wasn't until we started educating ourselves on the truths of reality and obligations / legalities of education that we started to think really seriously about taking that leap ourselves. Whilst we're not experts, and honestly we're still learning as we go, I'm here to answer any questions you may have and help in any way I can. For us de-registering our kids from schools and embarking on this life adventure was one of the most rewarding experiences we've ever had as a family. We have come together in so many ways and it's something I'm proud myself and Si had the courage to see through. And I'm proud of how adaptable both kids have been in their own different ways. And 2 years in on our worldschooling journey (with no desire to stop) I'm proof that you don't have to have it all figured out, nor be rich or born with a silver spoon - and that you can just take every step together, with your little people in a way that feels natural to you as their Mother. - A Free Course for Parents Wanting To Start Their Home School Journey
If you're completely new to the idea of homeschooling (like I was) but are looking at home schooling your kids, here's a FREE COURSE for Parents that I did that helped me find my feet with making the decision. It's free. Online. I'm not paid for pimping this out. It's easy to do and helped me realise that homeschooling is very normal and popular choice of education in the UK (and world). I didn't need to be an eco warrior earth mum to do it. Phew. I always start any journey with education. If I don't know about something - I learn it. This course was the first steps on my home ed journey. Go to the bottom of this page for the FREE course details . When we took the decision to uproot our family and take the kids out of mainstream education, we had to learn new ways of learning. We were not the 'homeschooly type' (that's not even a thing btw) but we were going to be opting for this new way of life, inside our brand new way of life in Bali - and we were going to be homeschooling for the first time in our lives for a long list of many reasons why . We were seeing topics being brought into schools that did not sit right for us personally. And had gotten fed of having to state our case for the kids to not to have some forced immunisation when everyone else seemed perfectly fine about it. At times it felt as though we were the only one's going against what everyone else was blindly agreeing too (little did we know there were other parents too that were just keeping quiet and not causing a fuss, but also standing firm on their beliefs and right to not be co-erced into anything that didn't sit right - more on this quiet army some other time). We used the Elie Grey letter templates to state our reasons for why we objected to the flu jabs for school age children in the UK in 2024. Thanks Ellie! The system does not like it when parents have autonomy over their own kids. Who knew! And many parents feel forced into having their children in school and it just doesn't need to be this way. Here's the first steps I took in my own home schooling education. We home schooled on our month long visit to Bali to see how it could work for us. It worked. Life was harmonious. Of course the kids still argued. Fought. We're not the Von Trapps, but we came together and left wanting more of this beautiful new way of living. We can see how we've been doing things wrong all of our lives and we're ready to start full time. If you are thinking about home schooling your kids, but don’t know where to start, I thoroughly recommend The Centre of Excellence’s diploma on Home Schooling . We did it before embarking on our decision and it helped us when making the decision of whether Home Schooling was right for our children. Click on this link to use my refer a friend referral to sign up for account with them to get your Free Home Education course. At the time of writing this Sept 2024, we are 100 days into our home school journey. It's been challenging but oh so good. The topics we've covered are varied and vast. But what has been absolutely amazing is that the kids have led the way with their learning and even though we're covering the basic boring stuff like Maths and English (with Doodle Apps for the 8 year old) and Maths GCSE for the 15 yo, they are both gravitating to a more hands on style of learning. Our 15yo has set up her first online business (we're so proud of her) and our 8yo is in the process of setting up his YouTube account as he's learning video editing. At such young ages, these are things they would not have done whilst at mainstream school (through fear, worry what others will think and all the the self doubt self sabotaging concepts we all pick up at school) that stop our kids from thriving and living the life where they thrive. I'll share more about their online skills learning and business journey soon. We were not the 'homeschooly type' (that's not even a thing btw) but we now have a whole section on the blog dedicated to HOME SCHOOLING - so I guess you could say I am definitely the home schooly type now. Smirks. Home Schooling / World Schooling it's all the same. We call our home learning situation ' Worldschooling' because we're always somewhere else in the world (mainly Bali), but the principle is the same. Check that section out if you feel lost, overwhelmed, or just want to see what a typical day looks like. I hope it helps you. And also please comment here to let me know what you would like to see in that section. I am always at your service, Fletchy McFletchface xx The course is more detailed than I thought it would be, especially since it is a free course. 10 modules split into smaller parts. I got a lot of value from it, (learning in an evening, where I had spare time, over a couple of weeks) and I hope you get a lot from it too. Of course, we now world school both kids, which is essentially home schooling but out in the world (The course is good for this too) and it all started with this course. Not bad for a freebie. - Worldschooling - What is it? Why? Sounds cool...
World schooling / worldschooling sounds like such a cool thing to do. All the digital nomads are talking about it. And with ease (seemingly) doing it. They are jet setting around the world, living the dream with their little tribes of boho kids behind them. Sounds appealing right? The only problem is, we're not digital nomads and we don't know how they're doing it. What we do know is that we want to try it. There's been a pull in our souls for many years to do this. We just didn't even know it was 'a thing'. toys sad to see their kids leave for school. Bertie & Lilly head back into mainstream school after lockdown What is world schooling? World schooling kind of happens naturally as a parent anyway. We’re constantly educating, teaching, and talking over scenarios and topics of virtually everything our kids see. Day in day out. So much we get sore throats some days. This gets less so when you’re in the throws of the day to day routine, but you’ll notice their interest peaks when you’re out and about, walking, on a day out, going on holiday. It gets next level when travelling the world for longer periods of time. Kids are continuous information sponges. We dip in and out of world schooling for much of the year. But the kids still attend a mainstream English schools. And we are bound by what they get taught and when we can take them on holidays etc. So the real definition of world schooling would be like home schooling (no actual school) but you travel the world. The world is your home. And this isn't the same as home schooling at home during lock down, which was hell on Earth. Disengaged kids, bored out of their minds, seeing the same 4 walls day in day out. Going in the garden to look at berries on tree's or the garden birds for the millionth time. No it's quite different. It's an engaging series of learning through travel, projects we set up for them to learn from. Cultures, history, ecological viewpoints, nature, environmental perspectives, wildlife, anatomy and conservation. Astrology, looking at the Universe, Learning to surf, learning to dive and doing it everyday. Learning the language of the place we're in. Meeting people of different cultures. Of course we'll be doing a little maths, number work and English. Reading all the time anyway. But this is learning through freedom. What flows on that days is the topic we'll be learning about. We as a family are at a serious juncture in our lives. We’ve always felt that we don’t really fit in – in our lives in the UK. As kids and now adults myself and Si have very different views than most people around us. We have always felt different and like we stand out like sore thumbs. And also we are not living a fulfilled life. Our souls are not happy. And we are starting to see this in our kids and the things they like doing and are good at. And it’s made us question whether the life we have is the life for us. We are a creative family. Myself & Si have had our own business for 15 years. This requires creativity. We have marketed our business in unconventional & creative ways. I have made things from nothing, with my hands and sold them for income all of my life. I’ve never had a ‘proper’ job. But I’ve worked my arse off trying to make a life for us. The roof over our heads has come from our creativity. I love being outdoors, I love the ocean. I have a pull to be near it. And yet I'm not living my dream. And Si is a DJ, he plays for money and that is our life. Many life events have taken him away from this passion, where more money can be made, for example, we’ve always gone with that. And so yet again he finds himself not living his dream. We are artistic, and apply that flair in almost everything we do. We came together and had 2 creative kids. Si also has a son from a previous relationship who is a 'creative’ and is forging his own path in life and is a DJ. He travels the world and people pay to listen to him & go to his events. We have creative kids. But we don't feel like this creativity is celebrated, more like kicked out of them. If you have creative kids that have a lot of character and a real flair at something that’s not thought of in mainstream schools as being anything of importance, we started noticing that this flair starts to disappear. They are getting on in school, but they’re not engaged. They don’t LOVE school. In fact the subjects they do love aren’t in mainstream education or if they are they are not celebrated. So, the things that our kids are naturally gifted in, are not celebrated. Our kids are not celebrated. And that makes me sad. I sent myself to University to have a back up plan. When I graduated, I set up my first business. My education had nothing to do with this. It was down to my personality, my attitude. The skills of how to do it learnt along the way. But with this said, I don't want to jeopardise their options of gaining qualifications to tick those boxes. We value the real world scenarios over formal education settings. We value exploration and freedom over rules and restraints of classroom teaching. We value our childrens' happiness over achieving school targeted grades or being bound by a time table. We don't want to create worker bee's. We want to create dynamic, enterprising, curious kids that think ANYTHING is possible in their lives. Not to think that their path in life is to work every hour in a 9-5 job that they grow to hate, that they get 4 weeks of holidays from per year. Until they are 65/70 years old. This is the reality for many kids. Kids are so unique we don’t believe a one system schooling fits all. How can it. And in trying to squeeze our kids into one, I’ve seen first had their unique talents and skills and what makes them them, slowly fade. We felt so alone in thinking all of this. Like we were wanting to create unruly, anti establishments kids. Until we learnt that world schooling is a real ‘thing’ that normal families can do and are doing. With success. It’s not something that’s reserved for the rich or elite. And what’s more theres a thriving world schooling community that we’re just dipping our toe into and meeting. So I mentioned that we’re at a juncture in our life. We think this world schooling life fits our family and we’re going to give it a go. We’re selling up our life in the UK and taking a gap year to travel the world and taste the full time world schooling life. To see if it’s the life for us. Learning new skills right now to move our jobs into a more digital nomadic style. The world is changing. Everything is going digital and I want my kids to be equipped for this new world. Not the world of yesterday. How are we going to Worldschool? We plan to work on our digital businesses, which will enable us to have an income whilst we are away, to make this dream work, and IF we're all thriving, to keep the dream going full time permanently. There are so many ways to make money online. Whether that's through an online business, digital marketing, working remotely for a business or even affiliate marketing. We didn't realise it at the time of deciding to uproot and thought that we'd have to sell everything that we owned to make our dream work. We would have done that anyway, but in learning new skills and new ways to make money, there's a whole world of possibility. I'll share lots about this on the blog. No more sad toys More On This Topic: What is Worldschooling v Homeschooling?
