Week 1 - My YouTube Channel Growth Review Video and Account Stats

Week One - how I grew my YouTube Channel - Growth Review Video

Week 1 - My YouTube Channel Growth Review Video and Account Stats

It's been 1 week since I started my YouTube Channel and this is my promised once weekly review of the channels growth and how its doing, with one goal of growing the channel to monetized status. I want to be earning from YouTube in the quickest amount of time possible and plan to document the journey until I get to that point to show others how to do exactly the same. In week I'm happy with the progress. I'm loving making videos (which is the most important to me if i'm going to stick this out). All my stats and arrows are green and pointing in the right direction. Let's dig deeper...

Check out my week one growth review video below:

Analytics and Growth in Week1:

16th September - 22nd September 2024 things are going UP + that makes me happy

During this week:

I posted 11 shorts (more than my target 7 daily) but I've been finding shorts easy to do as I usually concentrate on Instagram and so I've just swapped my focus from Instagram to Youtube shorts for the time being as I see more potential to earn on YouTube than on insta right now)

I posted 2 videos (hit my target)

I didn't do the first weekly growth review video until the following day so that will show in next weeks stats. Just so that I could let the stats from the full 24 hours take effect and the week have the full 7 days.

You can see for the 20th September things start moving. Maybe this is because YouTube see's that I'm active and not just a one post wonder. I'll keep up with the momentum here with posting 7 shorts and my 2 vids goal per week so YouTube learns my channel is consistent. YouTube loves consistency. And it's only week one and so I'm starting with the basics: Showing UP + Consistency.

Overall the week I had 3.3k views | 30.2 watch time hours | + 15 new subscribers

All of my stats are UP. Everything is green. It's only the first week and so there's not much to talk over here.

I end week 1 with total 66 Subscribers | 30.2 WTH | I'm not concentrating on views.

Starting week 2 with 66 Subscribers | 30.2 WTH.

Of course the channel is a long way off the 1k subs and 4k watch time hours that it needs to become monetized but everything is moving in the right direction as opposed to the wrong direction and I can work with that!

More of the same commitment and focus from me next week then time for the weekly Growth Review for Week2.

Equipment I'm using:

I don't have the latest video equipment to start this journey. I am using:

An iPhone 13 to film

A mid priced Gimble to give smooth recordings

A paid for CapCut Pro editing software (the free version is enough, but I wanted to unlock some things to try out)

Links to the things that Helped Me Grow My Channel in Week 1:

Canva - Free or paid subscription to create thumbnails for the YouTube Vids

My Canva Crash Course for Beginners EBook - A detailed guide with video tutorials to get you started with Canva

CapCut - to edit my vids

VidIQ - to learn from, do their daily learning tasks and get video titles / hooks + very good YouTube Videos to grow your account. I like these videos because they're super easy and concise. Plus the guy that does them is a Northern chap and I miss home.
