In this beginner-friendly guide, we’ll walk you through what meditation really is (and isn’t), the benefits it brings, how to get started, and a simple practice to begin right now.
This is your soft landing. Your sacred reset. Let’s begin.
Learn How To Meditate
Come home to yourself. Breathe. Be. Remember.
If you’ve been feeling scattered, anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in your head - this is your invitation to pause.
Meditation isn’t about emptying your mind or becoming a monk on a mountain. It’s about gently returning to your breath, clearing space, and reconnecting to your inner world - even if just for a few minutes each day.
In this beginner-friendly meditation guide, we’ll walk you through what meditation really is (and isn’t), the benefits it brings, how to get started, and a simple practice to begin right now.
This is your soft landing. Your sacred reset. Let’s begin...
What Is Meditation, Really?
At its core, meditation is presence. It’s the practice of stilling your outer world to reconnect to your inner truth. You don’t need to be perfect, peaceful, or “spiritual” to start - you just need a willingness to be with yourself.
Meditation is a tool to:
Quiet mental chatter
Release emotional clutter
Raise your energetic frequency
Connect with your intuition
Align with higher guidance
Create space for healing, clarity & expansion
You can meditate sitting, lying down, walking, listening to sound - there are no rules.
Just moments of awareness.
The Benefits of Daily Meditation
Meditation doesn’t change who you are - it helps you remember.
These are just a few of the benefits you may begin to feel:
Reduced anxiety and mental fog
Increased clarity, creativity & intuition
Stronger nervous system regulation
More aligned manifestation
Better sleep & emotional resilience
Deeper connection to your body, soul & Source
And over time? It becomes less about “doing” meditation… and more about living in a meditative state - responding rather than reacting, flowing rather than forcing.
How to Start Meditating (Even If You’re Not “Good” at It)
There’s no such thing as a bad meditation - only moments of presence. Even if your mind wanders the whole time, you’re doing it right. And every time that you meditate goes towards training the muscle of 'meditating'. The more you practice meditation, the easier you will find it to drop into the meditative state quickly and with ease. You will soon not need to 'try to' meditate. Perhaps the biggest advice given to us by our monk guide was that we didn't need to try to meditate and to just do. If we let go of trying and release any expectation of what we want from the meditation then it takes any pressure off for it to go in any direction. The art of just being comes from just doing. The more you do the better you become. So be gentle with yourself and show up only. This is the first step of meditating and one that we feel is completely overlooked by many western meditators. Trying to meditate. So in the words of Phra K.K 'Just do' and 'no need to try and do'
Here’s a gentle place to begin a new Meditation Practice for Beginners or those who 'It's been a while since...':
1. Find Your Space
Somewhere quiet, cosy, and safe - where you won’t be interrupted. Light a candle, hold a crystal, or keep it simple. Make the space. This is you doing the mental ritual of creating intent to meditate. Simply by setting up your meditation space (scared space) you are telling your monkey brain that you intend to meditate. We light an incense stick and place some crystals near by to symbolise our own intent to meditate. This is us finding our space / creating our scared space.
2. Set a Timer
Start with just 3–5 minutes. That’s enough. You’re building a habit, not a marathon. Grab our Free Meditation Starter Kit
Which includes a Free Meditation Timer MP3 + The Meditation Habit Tracker to help you build your daily meditation practice. 5 Mins a day can change your life!
3. Close Your Eyes & Breathe
Focus on your breathing. Simply sit or lie down and only focus on your breathing. Bring your awareness to the inhale breath and the exhale breath. Notice the sensations in your body. When your mind wanders (and it will), just return to the breath. No judgment. You could just breath for the whole 3-5 mins at first, because you would be surprised how many of us have lost the art of being aware of our breath. 3-5 mins of pure breathwork will do wonders for your meditation practice and overall health. Feeling good with the breathwork? Now you have breathed your way to relaxation you could continue onto a meditation. But don't beat yourself up if it takes many days of just this breathing exercise.
4. Use Guidance If You Need It
Guided meditations are perfect for beginners - like having a gentle voice walk you home to yourself.

Start Here: Your First Meditation Practice
Here’s a simple practice you can try today:
Sit or lie down comfortably.
Close your eyes and take 3 deep, slow breaths.
Begin breathing naturally. Be aware of this breathing.
Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly.
Silently repeat:“I am safe to be here. I am safe to slow down. I return to peace.”
When thoughts arise, gently come back to your breath.
Stay for 3–5 minutes, then open your eyes slowly and give thanks.
