- Moving My Whole Family From The U.K. To Bali!
We did it - We Booked One Way Tickets to Bali - A family moving abroad to Bali In June 2024 we bought and took one way tickets to Bali. I’ve never bought one way tickets before, it definitely feels different. And I made a YouTube Short vid here of the 8,000 mile move something I've also never done before. 2024 is turning out to be quite the year of firsts. And that was always the plan. Pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone, doing new things and not settling. Go follow those dreams girlfriend. (My videos will get better from here I promise). Two years ago in Mexico , we made the big life decision to pack up our lives in the UK and as a family moving abroad to Bali. We’d been feeling super burnt out with our lives in the UK, feeling unfulfilled and unhappy for a long time. Feeling stuck in a rut in the rat race. And worst of all it was our own business. And so it was our our own rat race that we'd created. We were working long hours, never seeming to have enough money or time. To live for the weekends and holidays and not really much living inbetween those times. I call these times 'surviving' - we were most certainly NOT thriving. We disliked so much about UK living. Waking up in the dark, going to be in the dark. Closed living not being outdoors to eat in the garden or have the windows open for fresh air because of the cold. Severe lack of sunshine, the cold weather (did I mention the cold weather!?), then the constant rain (we lived in the Pennines in the North West of England, which see’s about the most of all the rain in the UK), the keeping up with the Jones’ mentality of taking on more debt to buy the bigger house, the bigger car etc. The non stop constant busy rat race life we were living of living to work. Something had to give and we’d thought about moving to the sunshine for a long time. I realise this is a right moan-fest - I just want to paint the picture of our feelings - and the colours I'm using are grey. Not depression thunderous grey just a colour wash of grey. The feeling of being unfulfilled and knowing there's SO MUCH MORE. Many things had led us to Bali. Signs from the Universe, omens and objects appearing in front of us, guiding us towards the decision and the location, a lot of soul searching, digging deep and listening to our intuition. I really need to do a post on this. And once we decided on the move, it was a though all things conspired to make what was once an impossible dream, happen. I’d been reading Paulo Cohelho’s The Alchemist and it felt so true with many quotes in that book namely: " When you have a dream and want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. " Once we decided on what our dream was, it became impossible for it not to happen. Lot’s of things had to happen to make such a jump. New skills had to be learnt to make a change from running our physical office based businesses in the UK to learning new skills that would make us money online and remotely . We had to become digital nomads (aged 40+). You can learn literally ANYTHING. And become ANYTHING. Be anyone you want to be. Be the person you always wanted t be. At any age. You're never too old to do what you were always meant to do. A quote I live by. I should really do a post on becoming a digital nomad in your 40's or older (or something like that! I never now what readers want so comment if that sounds goooood). We had to learn new ways of learning too (a quick post on a Free Home Schooling course that I took), for the kids, as we were planning to take the kids out of mainstream education and homeschool for the first time in our lives (see the reasons why we're worldschooling ) we had gotten tired of having to state our case for the kids not to have some forced immunisation (we had to really state our case for the flu jab being given to all kids in the UK and used the Elie Grey templates to argue our case. Thanks Ellie) or such like. The system does not like it when parents have autonomy over their own kids. Who knew! Our school was very good though, but we were seeing topics being brought into schools that did not sit right for us personally. And many parents feel forced into having their children in school and it just doesn't need to be this way. We had to finish a project house that we had been renovating to free us up time wise to be able to go. And if needed, we would sell this to make the trip happen. Once we decided on a a dream. The intention was put in place. Sent out to the Universe as a request, a prayer even. And we knew that it was going to absolutely happen. Even though logistically, it was an impossibility at seed stage. But the Universe works in mysterious ways (See The 12 Universal Laws ). And so 2 years later, we were setting off on the biggest adventure of our lives. Taking one way tickets to Bali with our 2 children. Not knowing what it would be like. Or how we would make it work. Or even if the sunshine life would work for us. But knowing one thing for sure in that we couldn’t not take the adventure to make memories forever with our kids. And the Universe had provided for us already, we were going to continue trusting in our inner guidance and knowing that everything works out one way or another if you trust the process. And to try an not overthink the whole epic thing and just enjoy the journey. One day at a time. One step at a time (until the thing is done). Diary Log - 4th June 2024: We took 3 planes that day. Saw 4 countries. And travelled over 8,000 miles following signs from the Universe. After 28 hours of travel! Absolutely whacked out. Heads Up: If you click through any of our partner links, we receive a small commission from them. This doesn't cost you anything. This is one of the ways you can also start monetizing your own blog. Check out my blog post about starting a blog + having affiliate links to start earning from it . Thank you for reading! When we were starting out on our plans to move our family to Bali , finding cheap monthly rentals in Bali for something more long term than a 2 week holiday for our accommodation was a mystery to us. How do you find cheap monthly rentals. Where do people that need to rent a house in Bali go? We'd spent a trial 1 month in Bali fact finding earlier in 2024 (to see whether the life would work for us). Which of course it did, but we were booking accommodation by the night using the usual places like Booking.com | Air B | and Agoda to pick up reasonably priced rentals. And we were getting some amazing nightly prices (a few days here, a week there). There are still bargains to be had in Bali. We've stayed in over 40 places in Bali so definitely know the good, from the bad, to the downright ugly. To the amazing instagram villas. But long term this was just not going to be a sustainable way of looking for our family accommodation. For a holiday, sure, this is the perfect way to book accommodation. If you want to explore different regions of Bali. Doing it this way, gives backpacker style freedom, and often it's pretty good for those sticking to a budget as there's quite a lot available last minute. It gives flexibility as you can stay a few days in one place and move on to the next area to explore as we did. Bali is such a diverse country that when taking a holiday there as a family, you might want to explore the different places rather than being stuck in one resort or one place. You'll find that this is the way that many people 'do' Bali. But be aware that this option is also very tiring. The climate is hot and it's not always the best way chugging around with kids looking for the next nights accommodation. So, if you know that you are going to stay in Bali for a month or longer, then you'll want to know this great hack that we use for finding cheap / cheaper accommodation for our family home in Bali and for your next longer term stay in Bali. Especially good for expats and those wanting to stay in one area for 1 month+. But where is this holy grail of cheap rentals....??? Read on, we got you. And this is how we book our family rentals when in Bali (until we buy our own land and build our own villa for our family home). We are currently renting this property and it's a really good price for a home for a family of 4 - take a house tour of our Traditional Local Balinese House On YouTube . Sure it's traditional and lacks some style, lacks a pool, but it feels very Bali, it's in a local lane, and in making those savings it allows us to spend more on living, trips, treats, massages and all the usual expenses that a family has. And remember guys, we are a family of 4. Solo travellers can live REALLY, really well in Bali for under £1k, but we have 4 heads to rest, 4 lots of meals every day x 3 meals - that's 12 meals per day, 4 lots of smoothie bowls, 4 lot's of fun to pay for. Family life mounts up. But when we budget, we can keep our whole monthly family budget to under £1500 (which for a family of 4 is cheap) and we still have treats and massages and eat out every night. I bet you're wondering HOW??? Well, it starts with getting a good price for our monthly rental accommodation first. Take a look to see what we're paying for this local house for 1 month - at my YouTube video of ££$$ How Much We're Paying $$££ For Our Traditional Family Home in Bali (Uluwatu - one of the most expensive places to rent in Bali) - I think you'll be surprised on the price. Heads up, this is my first video for YouTube - they do get better from here I promise ;-) So as you can see from the video our monthly rental is pretty darn good, for a family of 4 rental in Bali (price correct as of Sept 2024). And you'll notice I mention about an even better priced villa that we're heading to in October, for which I'll do another post / video about soon, so that you can compare and contrast the differences between the two and compare prices wit bills all in V's bills not included... So where do we find our Cheap monthly rentals Bali? And not just us, everyone who stays in Bali longer than holiday status uses this hack. The answer is Facebook Groups. Go on Facebook and join all the groups that you can for the area you're interested in. here you'll find multiple daily posts from landlords posting their long term cheap to mid - to expensive monthly villa's. You'll see stuff on these pages that you just won't find on booking sites. Some of the one's we joined for Ulu are: Uluwatu Community Housing - Buy rent Villa & Land - Bingin / Pecatu / Bukit Bali Listings - Buy & Sell: Villa - Property Real Estate There are loads though - so search rent / rentals bali and join the areas that you're interested in. We joined a few for Ubud when we're staying there but remove ourselves as it can be quite overwhelming the amount that come up. Which is super great when you're looking for property! You'll obvs want to do your own due diligence on anywhere that you're looking at. But these groups are the only way that we book our monthly rentals now. We have stayed in a £250 a month property to the current traditional house, to a luxury £2k p month villa to our mid range £900 villa. So there is something for everyone. You'll also find on here some swoon worthy places tat we don't stay at, as we can't justify the price on spending £4k a month but you can if you want to. You can also put your own post in these groups of what you are looking for, which will open yourself up to many responses to landlords showing you their property. Some of which will be plainly not suitable, but from time to time you get lucky finding your perfect place. This is exactly how we found the gem of a property that we stayed in July 2024 and are going back to for October 2024 -January , because we loved it. I'll share this next rental with you soon. So I hope some of these facebook groups help you in making your move to Bali. And guys, if you want the contact details of any of our local Bali Contacts/landlords that I post about here (i.e. places where we've stayed and the genuine landlords of each place, let me know in a private message and I'd be glad to share these with you so you can open dialogue with the landlord yourself) More On This Topic: Bali Local Food Shop What we're paying for rent in this villa Luwak Coffee - Our Experience of a plantation visit Visa on Arrival for Bali Learn Basic Bahasa I hoped this post helped you. - How To Shop Like a Local in Bali
How We Save $$££ £200 On Our Monthly Food Budget whilst Travelling as a family of 4 - Like £200+ a month savings - that's so good that it's the only way we do things now - even on holiday. This is a travel hack that we discovered whist learning to budget with our monthly food budgeting as a family of 4 living in Bali. It's to Shop Like a Local. It's so good that we now do this even on Holiday's to save mega bucks to splurge on life's luxuries. AND we eat better than ever. Read on to find out... How To Shop Like a Local in Bali for the freshest ingredients and big family savings. Like all Mum's, I learnt how to budget in the early years when our Daughter was born. We had virtually no money, a struggling business and a little one to look after. With limited money coming in, managing the household budget was an absolute must. With food shopping costs spiralling - sticking to the monthly food budget was all important. I became the Queen of Budgeting. My relationship with money isn't like this any more, but I'll always use my thrifty ways to keep the family budget down. Because frankly who likes wasting money if you don't need to. And this one thing is what we do here In Bali to save money on the monthly food costs.... and eat better than ever. The Background We moved to Bali to live a high frequency life. We had both been on our own spiritual awakening and had started naturally pulling away from desiring anything low frequency / vibe. Things that once appealed we were starting to feel a very strong pull away from. Like a magnet repelling. This included food. There was a strong pull away from meat (note we are not vegan and do still enjoy meat every now and again), anything processed and really anything that wasn't good for us. A strong urge almost craving for fruits, vegetables and whole foods. On closer realisation, it's all about the sun. Anything that has been grown from the sun will start to scream out to you (just remember this point if you too are noticing this pull and a change in eating if on a spiritual awakening - but more on this another time). Eating high vibrational foods was like feeling the goodness pouring into us and when you feel something good, you want more of that, right. In the busyness of Western life it's easy to miss noticing this. Listen in. This was a natural change as though our internal antennae just did not want for this stuff any more. The journey has been all about tuning in and listening. So that's how the food part started for us. And for pure health reasons, this pull was only doing good things to our bodies too. Win win. I recommend you start listening to your body when it comes to food. Our life in the UK had felt very dense, very heavy and really not how we should be living. This was the main reason for making the big move. It was like a very strong pull / calling to be somewhere else. And once we knew where that place was. It was so loud that we couldn't ignore it. We started from the basics to make changes to every aspect of our lives starting with the very basics of living well. And that started with what we were putting into our bodies: good quality good quality food / nutrition. We are super human beings, capable of self healing and it's true for what we put into our bodies: we are what we eat. Start seeing food as NOURISHMENT rather than a material object for consumption / overeating / something to gorge on to make us feel better. It's a means of Nourishment. To nourish ones body. WE started to listen to what 'feels' right with every aspect of our living. But to start living that way as normal everyday in Bali. Making small changes, one by one, until they became the norm, and our whole life was a complete high frequency life. Where we could connect to source and continue with our spiritual journey. It's no secret that I'm a big fan of the smoothie bowl . Colourful works of natures art in a bowl. And that we want to start the day with this kind of thing. Fresh fruits, local to the area. Things grown from the sun (our life giver), is alive and enriched with photons from the sun. When you put this kind of food into your body, you are giving it what your body truly needs. I really recommend meditating on this and listening to the body, seeing what it feels like, cutting out all the noise of modern life and just listening. my homemade smoothie bowls bring all the boys to the yard. All ingredients bought at this local market. Recipe here You'll start to 'feel' what's good and what's not good for your body. The body knows and soon you'll start to crave this goodness. And Bali is the home of the smoothie bowl amiriiiiight!? Or so instagram would make you believe. Actually the Balinese start the day with a bowl of rice with spices on, like a rice porridge - but there's no harm in juicing this one. Love smoothie bowls too? Check out The Most Instagrammable Smoothie Bowls in the World , a place right here in Bali that's a must visit in Ubud. The Worlds Most Instagrammable Smoothie Bowls - save this place for your next visit to Bali Now you know the background of our intent, it was always going to be important that I fed my family well in the morning in our new life Bali. Dragon fruits have insane health benefits . And every day begins with a smoothie bowl here for us. A pitaya smoothie bowl to be exact (Dragon Fruit or Buah Naga - The Bahasa translation). My smoothie Bowl Recipe | the health benefits of Pitaya post Bali is really cheap to eat out or order in for every meal. Using the Grab / Gojek apps (the go to must have's for all your Bali foodie requirements) it's so easy to order delicious, nutritious food in rather than make it yourself. (You can even order groceries in via these apps). For example, if we wanted to order breakfasts in every morning or eat out at a restaurant, we would be looking at paying around 60k IDR for each smoothie bowl which is about £3 AUS $5.70 | US$3.90 | Euro 3.50 ( which only £12 a day - this is so cheap, especially for a family of 4's breakfast costs on holiday), but for a family of 4 throughout the week this really mounts up (thats £84 per week, again not bad for your holiday budget). And if you're 'living' in a place Longer term, you can really pack in the savings on your monthly budget by living like a local.... and no.... I'm not suggesting rice porridge, but delicious smoothie bowls, every morning, with ingredients bought fresh from the market. Almost everywhere you go on holiday, you will have a local market right under your nose, and you might not even realise it. Ask a local and they will usually point you in the right direction. Mostly, it'll be just a walk away (or you can get a taxi / ride if further away) to maximise the savings. We do this even on holiday now, because of how much we can save, and also the freshness and not having to wait for delivery etc. And how integrated you will feel to an area and it's people by doing this. We only stayed in Vietnam for a month, but we got to know the local markets, the locals loved it, we had good laughs every day and we got access to what the locals get. That's all the best stuff! At a fraction of the cost. Our weekly fruit cost around £10 for a family of 4. We buy the toppings in at the beginning of the trip which lasts the month and we have the most delicious breakfasts as a local price! Just a girl. Squeezing some mango's. Come with me on a walk to a local market in Bali to get the freshest + save money and buy like a local I walk out every morning for fresh fruits here in Bali. I will film this mornings walk and share it on our YouTube Channel . So you can come take a walk with me to a local Balinese market to buy our smoothie bowl ingredients. Showing exactly just how easily we save £250 p month on our food budget by making our own breakfasts. We buy local coffee in a big bag to have a fresh coffee whilst we work (before the kids wake) and then with breakfast. And for a fraction of the cost, we live a beautiful relaxed morning. Eating foods that were grown just around the corner from us. It's a really nice way to live. See My YouTube Vid Below: Come on My Morning Local Market Walk With Me In Bali to save ££$$: I have a super go-to smoothie bowl recipe for all the ingredients bought at this market today here , that is pretty much my standard day to day morning recipe you just need access to good fruit and a blender. I make the bowls look really pretty and serve them up to my family each morning. This is 'my thing'. Si makes the Balinese coffee - that's 'his thing' - (You will not believe how good the coffee is in Bali, grown and produced right in Bali and sold in big bags for about £2!!!!) the best part of our morning hack is that it's all from home and it's all bought in from the local market. And it's this one thing that saves us a huge amount on our weekly food budget. We eat out most nights of the week for evening meal and don't even have to think of costs due to this neat little hack. Can you tell, i'm really quite pleased with myself about this one: 2 of my favourite things: eating well and saving money! A double win!! This is my morning set up with the ingredients bought in fresh from market - it's still possible to live cheaply in Bali Now even when we travel as a holiday, we do this hack. We find out the nearest market and take a trip there. WE see local life, get involved, meet the sellers, educate the kids in market buying in that country and get access to the cheapest and BEST fruit and veggies that the country has to offer. Live like a local! For breakfasts - it's the easiest way that we save money as a family of 4 and eat better than ever! You don't have to be as ridiculous as me and take your blender (yes I really did take a blender and cafetière to Vietnam with me. And boy was I smug about this. Fresh coffee in the mornings and beautiful smoothie bowls on hand) you can also buy electrical goods for a fraction of the price and get it delivered to your accommodation. Also most self catering places will have a blender. If they don't ask the question. You'll be surprised how helpful landlords can be in making their guests / tenants comfortable and will sometimes provide a blender. Each a true story in our travel life. In Bali, it's all about the people you know and you get on by asking for help. Ask and you find out the information. All key learnings for us in our Bali life. In order for the flower to seed & sprout to plant, flower, seed & fruit - it needs simplicity. We are the same. Fresh air, sunlight, water and nourishing soil (food). - 9 Reasons Why People Awaken Faster in Bali
Why People Awaken Faster in Bali: The Gentle Science Behind a Magical Feeling This post may include affiliate links that we may receive a small commission from at no extra cost to you. Thank You for supporting our blog! There are places in the world that feel like an exhale the moment you arrive. Places where your shoulders drop, your breath deepens, and your mind becomes quieter without you trying. The Leyline intersection, temples North, East, South, West, the heavily influenced Balinese Hinduism and tolerance of all religions on her lands, the nature, the volcanic energy, the ceremony, the people. For many people, Bali is one of those places. And for others they just don't 'get it' and I really do get both sides to that argument. On the surface, Bali is not a holiday destination I would ever choose (even now after living here for almost 2 years). Plus it's so bloody far from the UK it's generally not somewhere many Brits go for their holidays. Popular for Aussie tourists - some love Bali, some don't - and it's an ongoing debate that I see on social media. I understand both sides equally. But one side comes from logic and one side is felt. Underneath the surface of "holiday-Bali", there's something happening here for souls (or spirit). Energetically. For souls that have shadows to work through and souls that are awakening, Bali draws them in and sometimes spits them right back out. And for empaths, truth seekers and those awakening, it has some kind of magical draw to it that's hard to explain and see with human eyes. But as a feeler of energy it can be 'felt' the moment you enter it's volcanic airspace on the plane. Some describe it as “energy.” Some call it “frequency.” Some say it’s “spiritual.” Whatever it is it's "something". And in this blog I talk about what exactly it is, how Bali has helped my own spiritual awakening become that little bit softer after a dark night of the soul in the UK and why the frequency of Bali is pulling souls here to help awaken consciousness in the great age of truth and awakening that we're in right now on Earth. Skip this bit if you're already a reader >> If you're new here, hello and welcome to my blog. I'm Fletch (waves) you can read about me here. But in a nutshell I was a burnt out business Mum of 2 living a rat race life in the UK that had depression for most of it . One step forward, two steps back and after the beginnings of a spiritual awakening, and self healing from depression, I started asking the Universe for signs and those signs brought us here to Bali. This story is not unique to just me, my parter and Dad to my 2 kids was also going through his own awakening and was having his own crazy communications and signs. I keep nagging him to start writing more on this blog about his own version of events but you know what these boys are like. Maybe in time he'll tell his own story here. But what started as a tool to keep us accountable (this blog) when we first had the idea to up sticks and leave the UK with our 2 kids in tow. (When it felt uncertain and scary and like wtflippin-el-are-we-doing. Around the time when we thought we were going mad). Slap bang in the middle of a spiritual awakening that left us in that no-mans land of not fitting in where you are already and not knowing where you should be. Read our story here . This blog is now a go to tool for others on their own awakening, truth or healing journey . And especially for those looking to raise and maintain their frequency through vibration . We listened to every scrap of intuition that was nudging us, then screaming at us that things must change. A scream that became so loud it was scarier to ignore and stay in the UK than sell our house, buy one way tickets and take our kids out of mainstream education to slow travel and world school - both 2 things we'd never done before. Not having all the answers, but sure that it was something we must do. And so almost 2 years in I'm feeling reflective on my own questions as to 'Why Bali?' and 'What is my purpose?' and 'What am I here (in Bali) to do?' - probably if you are on your own awakening journey, the very same types of questions that you are asking yourself. Here I answer them in relation to my own experience of a spiritual awakening in Bali. When we got off that one way flight, we were all still in survival mode with a fried Central Nervous System (CNS) from years of living in a Western disconnected society. More so than ever, because we'd just taken a huge leap of faith to move 8k miles and didn't really have any of it figured out. For total transparency here though: I had a regular income for monthly work in my own online business that could pay for us all should the worst happen and Si not be able to earn on his online work. P.S foreigners are not legally allowed to work and so online earning is a must. We also had savings. I get many people messaging to say that they're thinking of just taking the leap and that they will figure things out when they start travelling. For me, personally, I've found starting any new business very difficult (including digital marketing which I suck at, MLM which I'm not keen on etc). I had plans to start many things here that would fund our family income but so far these new ventures have not worked out for me in the way of any meaningful income (yet). And So my best advice to anyone inspired by this story is to have savings that cover however many months you need. The online space is a great place to earn money that's location dependent, and earning online is the best way to become financially free - whether that's selling digital products or earning on YouTube - but it's not as easy as social media will have us believe "I made £30k whilst sleeping" posts. My honest opinion. And travelling costs more than we budgeted for most of the time. Savings have been a God send. We overspend all the time and truthfully our money will run out if we don't start earning more soon. Although our house should be ready in April 2026 which will mean we have zero housing costs once that's done and so that's going to cut of monthly spend significantly. Back to it - Fresh off that 22 hour flight - brand new to our plans with no plans life. More than ever we had to put our trust in something we couldn't see, surrendering the control of not having all the answers, not having it figured out, whilst doing it with 2 little humans that need (some) stability and feeding. And for the first 6 months to 1 year, I didn't give myself a minute to feel it all. I was just back to my default of surviving again. This familiar territory that I knew so well. I was concentrating on everyone else and how they were doing with it all. But what I found in Bali is that the healing is done through frequency from the land and so any healing or an awakening can done, by proxy, almost without realising. This is why I can't stress enough - GROUNDING - get those plastic lumps off your feet and go barefoot everyday (wherever you are Geographically even just 5-10mins) is going to connect you to the balancing energy - even if you feel all over the place in your own awakening. Just give yourself this one gift everyday and your CNS will thank you for it. Many people awaken in Bali, because once you peel through the layers of yourself: Bali feels like the external version of inner peace. And that’s why many people awaken here — not through intensity, but through softness. Although Bali can be extremely intense for those not in resonance to it. In this post, I’m going to share the real reasons why Bali helps people open, soften, and return to themselves… gently. Which is why people feel that energetic pull to return and spend meaningful time here. It's not a 2 week holiday thing. It's a soul resonance thing that once your spirit has felt this frequency, your whole being wants for that and knows that it is home. But is this because Bali is a place? Or is it a frequency? Let's explore ... There's a little bit of woo in terms of leylines which I personally love and work with but I know they're not everyone's cup of tea. As well as real-world factors that alter your nervous system. 🌺 1. Bali Regulates Your Nervous System — Without You Doing Anything This is the biggest reason of all as to Why People Awaken Faster in Bali. And this can be done anywhere, it's just a case of knowing how to regulate when density is heavier. But in Bali this happens by default. In the West, your body is always braced: It's fast paced, theres social pressure / expectations, noise, consumerism, surveillance, stimulation always, competition, city energy and suppressed emotions. Your system never truly drops . Most people live their entire adult life in a low-level survival mode: • rushing • multitasking • overthinking • comparing • striving • performing • self-pressure • disconnection In Cities, with busy jobs, with social expectations, and constant noise keep the nervous system in high “alert” state. This was certainly how we lived back in the UK. And this is all by design btw. Society is designed to keep people in a survival-fear-based mode. WHY? Because when you regulate and live within a regulated CNS, life flows and you start to see the synchronicities and pointings to your true self. That is : the self that is not of the ego and that is connected to source energy. The creator of worlds. And guess what, once you live within this identity you awaken and start to remember your original divine powers of healing and co-creation. Your natural state blue print that has been closely guarded and kept suppressed. This is just the start. But Bali is built differently. In Bali, your system drops instantly: with a slower pace, barefoot living, nature literally everywhere, warm air, open smiling faces, friendly tones, low stress, communal compassion You shift from fight/flight into rest/receive - which is the actual gateway to awakening. Warm air relaxes your muscles. Nature surrounds you from every angle. Life slows you down, not speeds you up. Even just for a holiday. Pro-long this state and your natural healing state can triumph. When your nervous system softens… your mind becomes clearer, you stop having to rely on your mind for safety and to think yourself out of a pickle, a problem or just day to day. You start to notice that your emotions become gentler, and your intuition becomes louder. That feeling is what people call “awakening.” It feels like magic, because you start to become aware of The Self as something more than just the body. It starts to feel like magic. But it's not magic — it's regulation . And regulation feels like peace. Even if your outer world isn't peace at that moment, the inner world can feel peace with regulation and no need for things or stuff to cause this peace. In fact quite the opposite: this internal peace has nothing to do with stuff/things/medication. It's daily mindfulness . Go check out my Bali Mindful Coloring Book for when you can't get to Bali - let Bali come to you - designed to evoke this inner peace simply through taking action to color in. Bali gets you thinking 'there must be more to this peace thing than meets the eye' Yes Yes YES there is! By golly she's getting it. Peace is what we're aiming for here... but for now baby steps. This is why Meditation is central to an awakening. When in a present moment peace state of meditation you start to regulate your central nervous system even just temporarily (and some is better than none). More peace mirrors more peace. More peaceful thoughts, more peaceful outcomes. Safety. And where safety is fear cannot be. It's impossible for the 2 to live side by side. You no longer need to survive in this state. And this leads me on to point 2: this temporary state can become more of a lifestyle thing in Bali because.... 🌴 2. The Island’s Pace Rewrites Your Internal Rhythm And that's a good good thing. In the West, productivity is the god. It's revered and our status is viewed in terms of how busy we've been or how productive we've been. How much exactly did we squeeze into a window of time. And that behaviour is actually rewarded. A bit like Pavlovs dogs - we get a pat on the head since being little - that we've been frazzingly busy and so well done, here's a pat on the head. But in Bali, presence is. Things take time here — and strangely, that time is healing. Life moves slower: • conversations are unhurried • meals are lingered over • people actually look at you (in fact will actively ask 'hey where you going?' which at first can feel alarmingly nosey. But it's not it's the pace of life. People actively slow their day to be involved in your day and simply want to know what you're doing or where you're going in general interested day to day slowness. • traffic forces surrender • ceremonies pause life at least twice a day or the daily offerings where everything stops to place and light the Caning Sari (those beautiful little offerings literally everywhere all over the floors, pavements, walls in Bali. The air literally shifts. • nature constantly invites you back into now, whether it's a big butterfly landing next to you, the Bali dogs yapping it's all part of the slow flow. That pause. Virtually everything forces you to stop and notice it in all it's splendour or culture shock (wherever you're at with your own Bali experience). Your internal rhythm begins matching the island’s rhythm. It has to. Otherwise you're rubbing up against it and that simply doesn't work. You stop rushing. You stop gripping. You stop forcing clarity. And then something really beautiful happens: your real self begins to emerge. Not the performative self. Not the survival self. The soft one. The grounded one. The one you forgot. Your True Self. Layer by layer for me (as I'm a slow learner) but as fast as you'd like if you're good a taking things at face value. P.S. I slept loads in Bali. I allowed myself to sleep. 🌊 3. Nature Is Everywhere — and Humans Are Wired to Heal in It Bali is one of the most nature-dense places on Earth. There’s something healing about just being in it: • the humidity • the thick green leaves requiring nothing but being-ness (and sunshine + downpour aplenty) • birdsong and gecko as background noise to everything (and all animal symphonies to be fair). We wake at 5m to the cockerels, then the cows start, then the dogs, always the crickets, always the geckos and frog hum. It forces you to realise that we are all here together and we are all part of the same thing. even if that is just a Tuesday morning at 5am • warm rainstorms, the thunder, natures purge and cleanse • the rich soil • flowing water • lush rice terraces Nature doesn’t just look pretty — it's actually proven to change our biochemistry. Sunlight + ocean ions actually change our brain chemistry. Studies show: ✔ nature reduces cortisol ✔ sunlight boosts serotonin ✔ ocean ions lift your mood ✔ greenery improves emotional regulation So whilst here, grounding in all this nature, it's no wonder people feel more themselves here. Some say that it's Bali that heals you. Bali doesn’t heal you. You heal you - you always do - But Bali creates the environment where you remember your divine nature to heal. It removes what overwhelms you long enough for your inner clarity to surface. And you don't need 8k miles between you to do this. Just knowledge and awareness that this is all around us anyway - even in the more denser places energetically speaking, where maybe nature isn't buzzing and pulsing quite so loudly. The beauty is always there, the space to listen is always there. And being out in nature is the best way to quieten it all so you can get some space between yourself and Yourself. Something I wish I knew before feeling like I had no choice to but leave my old life in UK. In looking back it was never about Geography and I thought it absolutely was at the time. I just couldn't hear my own internal clarity. And with this healing, one day I could go 'back home' to the UK. In fact after years of searching and running, I finally made peace with myself and God / Source / The Universe (however you like it - the creator of all that is) I would rather like to return home one day with new knowledge and inner wisdom. The UK might not be so bad as a whole and healed person. And I feel like so much good can be done there with a new way. 🌸 4. Balinese Culture Is Gently Regulating The Balinese people live from values that modern life has lost. They don't mimic or act or do it for tourist reasons. They full on embody and live their culture. They actually couldn't give 2 hoots if you are watching, taking part or what not. But they welcome you with open arms if you do want to partake or marvel. They live with this at their heart: • community • kindness • cooperation • respect • devotion • harmony • gratitude Daily offerings (canang sari) are reminders to pause and give thanks. Temples are woven into everyday life, not separated from it. Children grow up in large loving networks. People laugh easily, smile readily, help instinctively. This creates emotional safety. Humans subconsciously regulate with the nervous systems around them. And we as a family have all allowed ourselves the space to subconsciously regulate around gentle people, so that in time I've noticed a softness in our movements where your body becomes gentle. Around peaceful people, your body becomes peaceful. Around present people, your body becomes present. This is the “energy” people feel in Bali — a human nervous system responding to a peaceful culture. 🕊 5. Bali Gives You Space — Internal & External In many countries, it’s hard to hear yourself think. We recently left Bali for Barcelona for 1 month and oh my goodness was the difference so stark. It made me appreciate the island of Bali so much once I'd left it. In Bali, silence is easy to find. Slow mornings are normal. You can hear wind, water, crickets, birds. Your mind unclenches. And in that unclenching, you start hearing: • your intuition • your real desires • your emotional truth • your unspoken needs • your inner child • your own wisdom It's like finally learning how to listen. In Barcelona I was tested to ground the frequency of Bali and my own internal structures in a heavy geographic setting. There's no use having to go somewhere to feel the state, the key in awakening is embodying the frequency no matter the structure. This was my own test. 🌺 6. Bali Reflects Your Inner World Back to You (Fast) People often say: “In Bali, everything feels amplified.” That's because it operates fully in frequency. You notice: • when you’re not aligned • when you’re holding tension • when you’re forcing things • when you’re ignoring intuition And you notice it quickly. Why? Because the island is quiet . When the outer world is calm, the inner world becomes a lot louder. It's a lot easier here to hear the inner guidance, or receive guidance or clarity to life issues. Instead of numbing or distracting yourself, you feel — and feeling is the beginning of healing. Which is why people often “change” in Bali: Not because Bali transforms you. But because Bali stops drowning out your truth. 🧘♀️ 7. Bali Supports Soft Awakening, Not Forced Awakening If you've already gone through a dark night of the soul, you'll already know that this can feel pretty brutal. Some people awaken through: • intensity • breakdowns • loss • rock bottom • chaos What's left after that is an identity emergence and this comes through being aware of what is actually happening and then love. Acknowledging the love and light that is at the core of who you are, In fact it's all we are. And that's not all, that's everything. Myself and many others who are drawn to Bali — awaken through: • slowness • gentleness • creativity • peace • soft moments • self-connection • nature • safe relationships • quiet clarity After the ego breakdown and the emergence of the True Self, it's about building and trusting and re-learning everything you thought you knew but through new eyes. Different eyes that see things completely different. Your awakening doesn't have to continue as being brutal if you don't want it to. Awakening here happens because you’re no longer in survival mode. Your softness finally has room to come forward. Awakening isn’t meant to hurt. It’s meant to reveal. Bali reveals who you are underneath stress. And who you are is soft, intuitive, creative, open-hearted, and deeply at peace. For me, when I enter denser lands, I brace immediately. My body tenses and I feel that pang of anxiety in my stomach, cortisol floods my body and I can feel it physically happen. And then via Universal Laws my reality becomes a mirror. Stuff and experiences happen that are undesirable to me and I see how this plays out in real time. It doesn't need to do that in Bali unless of course you come at Bali with resistance - she will quite literally mirror that back to you harshly and quickly. But I too am learning this through lived experience, and sharing it here with you. With an increased consciousness and awareness, it's possible to be aware of what's happening through a higher perspective and almost look in on the situation to see it for what it is, then adjust and regulate the emotion accordingly. This is transmutation of energy and I'm learning and playing with this at the moment. Whenever I'm away from Bali, I'm aware of the difference in frequency and can see what's happening and I can apply Bali frequency to wherever I am. I am still learning my own power at this point. But hopefully this demonstrates to you that's it's not Bali per se but the frequency of Bali and that can be attained anywhere that you allow it. This has been my biggest lesson. I always thought frequency was external to myself: a place, a thing (maybe a medicine), the foods you eat etc. It can be. But our biggest strength as awakening humans is to drop all externals for everything, because it is all within. Including that mental switch from fear and lack to love, peace and abundance. I didn't know this. 🌿 8. People Come to Bali to Remember, Not Become The most beautiful truth: Bali doesn’t change you. It helps you return to yourself. And that feels like a very big change. It uncovers, (if you let it) what was always there. For good and bad. If there are shadows to illuminate here at this stage in your own awakening, then this is helped along here in Bali. We can heal them or we can bury them. For an awakening of your true gifts it's always paramount to heal them. But on our own time, because everybody's journey is different and perfectly timed for them. If you are interested in healing your shadows check out the shadow work section of the blog. It might be your time. Your real self was always peaceful. Always wise. Always intuitive. Always open. Always capable of joy. Always connected. And always LOVE. It wasn't until I started Self Love that I became aware of how loved I was and supported and held. The practice of self care wasn't even a thing in my former life. So in my own healing from depression journey, I began with Self Care and progressed with Self Love when I could bare to be kinder to myself. I was a low healer, until one day the work was done and it felt like it was overnight. Bali simply gives you the environment where remembering becomes easier than forgetting. 🌿 9. Ley Lines of Bali Or Energy Hotspots! The idea of “lines of energy” have been suggested where the energies are intensified at certain locations within the world to try to explain why some places feel different, more peaceful, more alive. There are planetary and Earth Chakras as well as our own body-energy chakras. Our planet as a living body has 7 major chakras associated with places where ley lines converge. Although there are many minor. Also called female and male dragon lines in Chinese tradition. Ley lines are energetic currents that flow above and or below the ground. And a good way to find them is via old maps. But I share a map here for your reference. These spritually significant points on Earth around the world often share similar features : • old churches • crosses • natural beauty • the sources of springs / wells • abundant plant life • ancient groves of trees • sacred temples • neolithic earthworks • slower-paced communities or sites of old habitation • rituals and devotion • connection to nature • peace, quiet, and presence • cultures that value harmony over productivity All over the world religious buildings have been built on what was considered these scared places. Bali is one of those places that humans have experienced as energetically calming, harmonious, and conducive to inner peace for thousands of years. When taking dowsing rods or pendulums you can often find such areas of increased activity (go check out me dowsing at Melasti beach a known and public area in Bali for intense energy). Many sites are scared or closed off to the public and I only share publicly here the ones that it is only right to do so. At these points you can tune into the Earth energies where cosmic energy flows and comes into the region. Similar to chakra points in the body (the bodies energy meridians), the Earth has her own chakra points and it's said that Bali is the Purification centre of these energy lines where all Earths energy comes to be purified before flowing on through the other dragon lines: onward to Ayres Rock. Where we would balance the bodies chakras when out of sorts, blocked or stuck (check out The Chakra Healing Section), the Earths chakras are calling out for balance. And groups of ordinary people are meeting to focus global meditations to heal, restore, balance (gridwork). When positive energy pulses through these areas, they can function as intended, as the nerves and the arteries of Earth. It's also said that the moving third eye chakra of Earth is in Bali (although this can and does move and may not stay there), but pointing to the theory that Bali is energetically significant. But we knew that anyway right? From experience there are working portals here in some locations that are closely guarded by local knowledge that you may become aware of whilst you are here. Energy vortexes to different dimensions and cosmic energies to flow through and from. Why I Specifically Felt the Pull to Bali during my own Spiritual Awakening If like me you are feeling the pull to Bali, there might be a very good reason for that. This is why I was drawn here by synchronicities, signs, prayer and getting answers. Then deciding to act on that guidance as opposed to stay in my predictable, fear based, unhappy life. It became a pull too strong that I couldn't. Even with kids. I was drawn to uproot and move my whole family to Bali for a number of reasons, mainly because: • My system was finally ready for peace. And when you're ready for peace you'll know • And you heal in peace, not pressure. Bali offers this emotional space for people • My old identity had softened • I needed a safe place to rebuild trust in myself and learn to feel my way through this new self • I needed slowness • My feminine energy needed space to develop and come online to gifts relating to creation and manifesting. I needed an environment that allows feminine energy to lead and Bali is one of the few places where feminine softness feels normal and valued . • My healing asked for gentleness • My creativity needed room to breathe • My mind needed quiet • So my soul recognised the environment Every part of myself was saying: “Take me somewhere soft enough for me to feel again.” And Bali answered. And she will do that for souls needing to be here for specific reasons. That’s what the “energy” or “frequency” of Bali is - vibration is a feeling / emotion that becomes a frequency or belief of a place where I feel “I can breathe here.” “My body settles here.” “My heart feels open here.” “I feel more myself here.” The island is a soul-retrieval portal for many Not because of past lives specifically, but because of all the elements regarding Bali's energy: • it’s safe, gentle, heart-led energy which allows space to reconnect to simplicity, stripping away noise to let people remember who they are here. Quietly.Softly.Organically. I had a soul reading in Bali which was very enlightening. More on that some other time. 🌺 My take home for anyone thinking of making that Bali leap: You don’t awaken in Bali because Bali is magical. (of course it is beautifully magically gorgeous - go check out my YouTube channel where I share lot's of daily Bali shorts mostly, just wherever I am at that time - it's mostly always Bali beautiful) But You awaken in Bali because you finally have space to hear yourself. If you’ve ever felt that pull - that quiet whisper to slow down, soften, reconnect - listen to it. It may not be Bali for you. It could be some other place. But start to trust in the quiet whisper. But somewhere in the world (or within yourself) is a place that feels like an exhale… and when you arrive there, your soft awakening begins. - Our Visit To Singapore Buddhist Temple | The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple with Kids
This post includes affiliate links that we may receive a small commission from at no extra cost to you. Thank You for supporting our blog! Singapore is a multi-cultural city, meaning you'll find Buddhist temples near Hindu temples, Mosques and Churches all living in harmony with each other in this stunning city metropolis. That in itself makes Singapore an amazing place to take kids and open up discussions on peace and harmony and living together as one. As our world schooling subject at the time was on Buddhism, we were on the lookout for the best Singapore Buddhist temple and we took the opportunity to visit the beautiful Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, in Singapore. Read on to find out more about Visiting the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Singapore With Kids: What You Need to Know. In our family-focused travel blog post about visiting the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple — we hope it's informative for you when planning your Singapore trip, with practical tips and things to consider when planning to visit with kids: And if you're interested in Our Story of how we went from living a Depressed and Disconnected life in the UK to living the life of our dreams travelling the world , worldschooling our kids and building our dream home in Bali then I've linked some blog posts above. And if not, Let's jump in to todays Singapore Travel blog: The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Visiting the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple in Singapore With Kids: What You Need to Know Tucked into the heart of Singapore’s bustling Chinatown is a place of calm, culture, and awe: the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple . During our family’s first visit to Singapore , this sacred site left a lasting impression on all of us—adults and kids alike. So much so that myself & Si decided to return the day after to watch the Awakening of The Tooth Ceremony to meditate within the hall (without kids as the first time round we were on full on learning & exploring mode). If you follow us you'll know that as part of our worldschooling subjects we are studying Buddhism, Temples and cultures, and we've been exploring the Best Temples of Chiang Mai and wherever we can embrace the culture of each place. But this adult visit is something we absolutely treasure as a couple and if you get the chance too Mum's & Dad's to take a few hours away from the kids we full recommend. We're not Buddhist btw, but we enjoy the spiritual aspect of the religion and we love learning about all religions and getting involved wherever we can - check out our Hindu Melukat Water Purification if you enjoy doing this kind of thing too) If you're planning to visit with your little ones, here’s everything you need to know to make the most of this memorable experience. Watch our Singapore visit to The Sacred Tooth Relic Temple here (P.S. Skip to 2 Mins 22 Seconds in For the Temple Bit) 🛕 What Is the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple? This majestic four-story temple is a relatively new addition to Singapore’s cultural scene, completed in 2007. With Tang-styled architecture and the building’s design was inspired by the Buddhist Mandala, a Buddhist symbol which represents the universe. Despite the museums modern age, it’s steeped in ancient significance — it’s named after what is believed to be an actual relic of The Buddha, the canine tooth relic of Buddha , from his funeral pyre in Kushinagar, India , collected amongst many other parts and shared around the world in various relic pilgrim sites. The Buddha Tooth Relic itself is housed in a beautiful golden stupa on the top floor. Inside the temple, you’ll find stunning architecture, intricate carvings, rows of golden Buddhas, and rooms full of spiritual artefacts that capture centuries of Buddhist history and devotion. With so much to learn about The Buddha and his disciples. A real learning activity for kids. If you check out the Temple website here you can find a timetable of things going on at the temple to plan your next visit. It's a working temple so you may visit at specific times to see beautiful ceremonies going on should you wish. The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple entrance fee It's absolutely free to enter and enjoy the full temple. Sometimes there are actual ceremonies and chantings happening which is really something beautiful to experience and see. There are many opportunities to donate or leave an offering through the temple and if you feel inclined to do so. The Visit Singapore site has a great section all about the temple here How Long Do You Need There? How long to spend at The Buddha Tooth relic depends on the time you have in Singapore. The whole thing could be done in around 1-2 hours if you were pressed for time and just wanted to get round to see everything. However, this would be quite rushed and leave no time to take in the atmosphere and vast things to see and read throughout the whole museum. There are 5 floors in all and waiting for the elevator can take time too so do factor that into your visit. There are stairs which we took to avoid long elevator queues. We spent around 2.5 hours and could have spent longer, however the kids were getting tired, it was hot and we were keen to get a cold drink. But 2.5 hours is enough time. That being said we would have happily stayed the whole day if it was just the 2 of us with no kids as there is a lot to learn, take in and many floors, with artefact's, artworks to admire, sculptures, statues and buddha collections to learn about. Plus the interior decor is beautiful - we would have liked time to admire that a little more. But kids have a limited attention span so we did what we could with what we had. Our Top Tips - If you are making a day of it there - Make sure you stop off at the Orchid Garden on the top floor as it's meticulously kept and very beautiful. And don't skip the vegan restaurant in the basement. 📍 Where Is It and How to Get There Location : 288 South Bridge Road, Singapore 058840 (Right in the heart of Chinatown) MRT Station : Chinatown Station (Exit A) – Just a 3-minute walk Opening Hours : 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM daily Admission : Free! Donations are welcomed, but not required We were staying close by to China Town and were able to walk to this temple, but if you are not in that area, this Singapore city bus tour stops very close by to allow you to hop on / off whilst combining a visit to the Tooth Relic Temple along with an open roof bus tour of Singapore city - which we LOVED. 👨👩👧👦 Is It Kid-Friendly? Absolutely. While it’s a spiritual and sacred place, it’s also incredibly family-friendly—quietly fascinating for kids and educational without being overwhelming. Our kids (aged 8 and 16) were both engaged, in different ways. There’s so much visual stimulation—from the statues to the colourful paintings—and the stories around Buddhism are a great way to bring some world schooling into your day. Here’s what helped us: Prepping the kids : A quick chat about temple etiquette before arriving helped them know what to expect—quiet voices, respectful behaviour, and no running. Making it a learning moment : We talked about Buddhism, meditation, and relics beforehand. It helped them feel more connected when we actually saw monks meditating beside the relic. We lit incense and held an intention and gave thanks and gratitude upon lighting the incense alongside practicing Buddhists to help them put context around the importance for others and having respect and appreciation for others beliefs. Taking breaks : There are benches and shaded areas nearby, and Chinatown’s food markets are a short walk away for a break or snack. There is also a vegetarian restaurant downstairs in the temple and the food looked AMAZING! But we'd already eaten. What is the Dress Code at The Tooth Relic Temple? There is a dress code for the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, like all temples. Th i s this is a working Buddhist temple there is a dress code and we quickly changed into something more respectful after taking this photo. Elephant pants to cover legs and a shawl or shirt to cover arms and shoulders is suitable. We recommend light weight coverings as it was extremely hot and humid inside many parts of the museum/temple. 🙏 What to See Inside The Tooth Relic Temple The Main Hall : Towering golden statues and rows of miniature Buddhas. Truly breathtaking. The Sacred Relic Chamber : Located on the fourth floor, this is where the actual Buddha tooth relic is enshrined in a golden stupa. It’s a silent space—shoes off, and no photography allowed. Museum Floors : There’s an entire level dedicated to Buddhist artifacts and history—great for older kids and teens interested in world religions or history. Rooftop Garden and Prayer Wheel : A very peaceful, tranquil open-air space with an enormous prayer wheel that you can spin together—our kids loved this part most! 🧘♀️ Tips for a Smooth Visit With Kids Dress respectfully : Shoulders and knees should be covered. If you forget, sarongs and shawls are provided at the entrance. Arrive early : Mornings are less crowded, cooler, and calmer—ideal for families. The temple opens at 7am and this is also the time of the Awakening of The Tooth where you can see the opening and meditate there with practically nobody there. Total peace as the city wakes! Bring water : It gets warm inside, especially for little ones. There’s no air-conditioning in most areas. Plan a follow-up treat : The nearby Chinatown Complex has affordable and delicious food options—perfect for a post-temple meal with kids. 📝 Final Thoughts Visiting the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple turned out to be one of our most meaningful experiences in Singapore. It gave our kids a quiet moment of reflection (yes, really!), and us as parents, a reminder of why we travel in the first place—to connect with the world and all the beautiful traditions within it. It was very busy yet still managed to be a day of peace, calm and inner reflection. Our Tip: Get up and out early for the Waking of the Tooth Ceremony that happens each morning before the temple opens. This wasn't a fancy affair or anything to marvel at. It is literally where the curtain to the tooth is opened and scared prayers are whispered, but myself and Si took a trip out without the kids and really enjoyed this alone time and we also took time to meditate in the hall whilst there after having a very bust few days of intense sightseeing and travel. This was a very special meditation for us and being in close proximity to something that's revered to hold scared energy, felt very special indeed. As meditation teachers, we take any opportunity to meditate in high vibrational energies such as these to enhance our own learning journey and share our experiences with others in our teachings and on our blog. Highly recommended without kids. There were maybe 3 other people that attended this opening on the day we visited so it felt very scared, peaceful and a chance to reconnect with our inner wisdom. Whether you’re spiritual or not, this temple is a peaceful pause in the midst of the city’s energy, and we’d highly recommend adding it to your Singapore itinerary. - The Benefits of Grounding - For Body, Mind & Spirit
Grounding: The First Gentle Step That Can Change Everything on a Spiritual Awakening for the physical body, the mental health body and the spiritual lightbody... In this series I share inner wisdom and tools that help illuminate and awaken peoples truth and ultimately their power - To harness divine energy - to create their own reality - by sharing the things that helped me on my own spiritual awakening, depression and healing journey and co-creation of my dream life building our villa in Bali and our full time travel life and worldschooling journey. When all said and done this blog started as just our life and is now a leading go to wellbeing and mindset blog helping people to raise their vibration and frequency to live better first and foremost but at a deeper level illuminate something within them that's ancient and knowing to help guide people back home to their truth. But let's have fun whilst we're here creating dreams and experiences that we actually want to create. Subscribe to my YouTube Channel for videos for each wisdom/tool plus free meditations and frequencies to raise your vibration instantly. I've pondered for a while where I want to take this blog and my YouTube channel and what really lights me up and where I can best be served. And I've had guidance with this also from spirit and my higher self (I'll share a full breakdown blog on how to connect to your spirit guides soon). I didn't want sensationalism: Headlines Like: "I healed lifelong depression overnight" (which did happen) OR "this is what a spiritual awakening looks like" or "how to manifest your dream life in Bali". Because even though I've done all these things and I'm living this life right now (that's what this blog started off to document) I didn't want to bombard people with all the materialistic sensations because this is people's lives here. They matter. And because this blog and the awakening of humanity during The Age of Aquarius that we've now entered is about truth. To sensationalise would take away from truth. It's about much more than that. The physical stuff is the icing cherry dollop wham bam on the top. You'll get to all that stuff. And also everybody's awakening looks different. Everybody's healing looks so different. And everybody's dreams, desires, wants look different too. When I take my own awakening all the way back to the beginning — before Bali, before peace, before softness came — and manifesting this dream life in Bali when everything logically pointed against it - but everything from the heart or soul level pulled until it became impossible to not go - it didn’t start with a big revelation or all knowingness, or contact from an angel or ET's. It started with tiny, ordinary nudges. Little feelings that pushed us (myself and Si) in the direction of doing something that we'd never done before. And I think that's where I need to start here. Overall it came to nudges that raised our vibration. And in raising our vibration and then thus frequency, this allowed other divine, inner wisdom clarity and truths and incredible gifts and stuff to come in. Things I’d never done before, that started calling me/us with this quiet, intuitive pull. Not in a forceful way or even a knowing 'you must do this' kind of way. But almost like little de ja vu feelings of intuitive nudges to start something or try something. And I think that's how I can help people best. Sharing my experience of lived awakening, where I was quite messy, and not really knowing or understanding what was going on. Those people are my people. The messy awakeners. I got you! And early feelings for me were pulling me towards nature. • I wanted to be barefoot on the earth. Shoes were pissing me off. • I wanted to sit in silence without forcing it. Maybe this was meditation (I didn't know at the time, but it was. I was a monkey mind, non-meditating, entrepreneur type. Very masculine energy and thinking from logic and non of this woo stuff I talk about today) • I craved fruit and simple foods. Less meat, I was actually repulsed by meat. • I didn’t want the news, noise, or stimulation. News felt like poison. • I wanted to be still — properly still — for the first time in my life. And on my own or away from people None of it felt dramatic. Or “spiritual.”It just felt… right. At the time, I didn’t realise it, but these gentle shifts were the first steps in my soft awakening. And this all felt so different to way I'd been living, this very fast stressful life, never having enough money, always struggling to want to even be alive, and fighting every step of the way. That the nudges were surprising to me. But yet felt so right. I'd never even heard of grounding, but had always felt amazing on holiday when barefoot - and this is grounding! If you're on a healing journey, grounding is probably the most simplest, easiest forms of healing that requires virtually nothing from yourself other than turning up and doing the thing . i.e. taking off your shoes and socks and letting your bare feet touch earth in some variety (see further for the different surfaces and a 2 minute grounding ritual to follow). And grounding — the simple act of reconnecting my body to the earth — was the very first practice that opened the door. Not just a holiday one off. Understanding that there was probably more going on than I realised with the simple act of connecting physically in some way to Earth and nature. I set about learning and living each part in the awakening as opposed to fighting and resisting what was being offered to me in wisdom and inner knowing. And just letting it come through to embody it / live it. And now with this blog not just live it but share it to help others on their own healing, awakening and manifestation journey (in that order) because if you heal the trauma, reprogram the subconscious mind and connect to divine source energy you can manifest anything you ever dreamed off. But it starts Here. Today. This post is the beginning of that story, and the beginning of a series on the practices that quietly changed my life to be now normal everyday practices that I can't be without in terms of just feeling better, feeling more connected, in peace, for spiritual development also, grounding is the first thing I do for all multi-dimensional work or energy work. It really is the foundation (ground) to the upper levels of the mind and the sub-conscious. And as electromagnetic beings, this grounding blog will help every single human on this planet in so many ways. I'm a fan can you tell. I'm going to talk about all the many things / symptoms that I experienced as part of my own spiritual awakening. Today we start with grounding — what it is, why it works, and how it can support both your health and your spiritual clarity. 🌼 What Is Grounding? (Simply, for Human's) Check out the grounding video and give it a thumbs up here or read on - however you prefer to take on your own growth - I'll be aiming to add a video wherever I can for the more visual of you - Grounding, sometimes called earthing, is the practice of connecting your body directly to natural surfaces: • grass • soil • sand • stone • water It’s the opposite of rushing, scrolling, consuming, or distracting. It’s the moment your body returns to neutrality. Grounding can look like: • walking barefoot • sitting on the earth • lying in the grass • touching a tree • letting your feet sink into sand • swimming in the ocean • holding smooth stones • standing still and breathing outdoors You can also buy grounding or earthing blankets that ground you whilst indoors etc, but I haven't tried this, this blog is purely about the free and natural ways to ground in nature. People often think grounding is something “spiritual,”but it’s actually profoundly physical above all else. It works because your nervous system recognises natural environments as safe — and it shifts your entire human physiology accordingly. 🌿 Why Grounding Works: Our Nervous System Truth The human body was actually designed to live in nature, not on concrete or behind screens as we found ourselves, living our disconnected fast paced Western rat race life. Always in shoes, and then because England is so cold, I'd slip the shoes off and go straight into slippers. So in all I always wore shoes - which negates any of Earths natural grounding that you could pick up in the day to day rat race. Oh lucky us. When you connect with the earth directly and ground, several things happen: ✨ 1. Your stress response lowers Being barefoot or in nature activates the parasympathetic nervous system — the part responsible for: • rest • digestion • emotional regulation • creativity • clarity • safety This reduces cortisol (the stress hormone that's responsible for so many Western illnesses, weight gain and general miserableness) and calms the mind. It’s why grounding often feels like:“Ah… there I am.” If you have never grounded before, please take your shoes and socks off right now! And go to your nearest natural surface (doesn't matter if it's a pavement, but ideally some soil, grass, natural flooring outdoors) and stand barefoot and take a few deep breaths in, notice what you feel. Notice what your toes feel, the coolness of the floor underneath. Just this noticing is enough - you just grounded. And chances are you felt something.... For me it's a very subtle moment. A thing you could easily miss (and we do) when our minds are racing and you're thinking of what's for tea tonight or what deadline do I have to meet. But a subtle hum that's always there when you are still and take the mind there. Like that first feeling of sand on bare feet as you hit the beach for the first time on holiday. That “Ah… there I am.” realisation. Subtle... but something. So what is that 'something'...? ✨ Well, Your body becomes electrically neutral The Earth has a heartbeat and a vibration (know as the Schumann Resonance) and it holds a natural negative charge. Your body absorbs excess positive ions constantly all day long (from stress, picked up from using screens, and exposure to pollution). Grounding helps rebalance this electrical load to a more neutral state — which is why during and after grounding people feel: • clearer • less inflamed • less tense • more steady • more present This it’s mystical woo btw — it’s bioelectrical bodily regulation. ✨ From there your presence returns Grounding pulls your attention: From the mind → into the body. From thoughts → into sensations. From overwhelm → into the very now moment. This shift changes EVERYTHING. Because the very now moment is also where divine energy resides. And this is magnetic and healing. • anxiety reduces • your breath deepens • your posture softens • your internal noise quiets Helping you to feel safe. Once your body feels safe, your mind becomes clearer. That clarity is the beginning of awakening. When we start to notice a gap between the life we're living and the 'thing' what's always there but maybe we'd not even noticed it. It's the noticing of something. 🌸 The Mental & Emotional Benefits of Grounding Grounding supports emotional health in ways I didn’t expect. If I was prescribed a dose of grounding over depression medication, this would have been far more helpful in my 20+ year battle with depression. Something I could move forward with and practice rather than pop a pill every day. Maybe I could ground and pop a pill. I'm not completely against medication where medication is due. But the sad part is that my medical treatment never involved anything like this recommendation, to empower me to come back to my truth / my true self. And sadly, that's by design. It's not helpful for big pharma who make billions on medications to have humans knowing any of this stuff. And hence the people stay disconnected. The people stay sick. By design. Power is in nature. And my awakening led me to nature through remembrance. Which in turn helped me remember my own power. Here’s what changed for me when I began grounding regularly: 🌿 1. I became less reactive Grounding creates a gap between stimulus and response. Instead of reacting instantly, you feel a moment of: “Wait. Let me breathe. What’s actually happening here?” For example if someone cut me up whilst driving my initial reaction was to see red. I had an awful road rage. Grounding gave my brain the gap of thing happening = a paused reaction. That quite often wasn't as angry or enraged. Same with any situation, some sad news, a slow sales day that would normally make me plunge into fear. Enter a Gap. That gap is life-changing. 🌿 2. I stopped racing myself I used to be in a constant rush — mentally and physically. In fact I likened my brain to feeling like it was crawling with insects. Constantly ticking. It would not switch off. Grounding slowed my internal rhythm. I mentally started to see my feet on the ground as the switch, because once they hit, I felt something. And so I saw that as the switch that I allowed myself to switch off. I started moving at a pace that matched my body, not my stress. Even if it was just for the short while grounding and the after effects afterwards - it showed me another way to live. And I wanted more of that life. Because my real life was frazzled, frantic and I was not at peace. 🌿 3. I felt emotions without being consumed by them Grounding anchors you in the body, not the mind - thought loop. So sadness, anger, or fear or whatever the emotion can move through you, without spiralling or becoming overwhelming. Grounding helps with the regulation of emotion and seeing that emotion from a higher plane. 🌿 4. I felt safe in stillness Stillness used to feel uncomfortable — like I should be doing something. A waste of time in my opinion back then. I was too busy to be still. And too poor to stop working. And too sad to be happy. And too... you get my point. And our Western world encourages this type of mentality - you are almost rewarded for being busy, working hard, punishing and working ourselves to death. But grounding made stillness feel nourishing, restful, home-like. That single shift opened the door to other stillness / mindful activities - for the first time in my life I looked at meditation, had a little more clarity, and my intuition started creeping in. Just from the simple thing of standing barefoot in nature - grounding. 🌙 The Spiritual Benefits of Grounding Grounding can be a very spiritual event if you want it to be. For me now, this is the only reason I ground. I enjoy being connected to Source Energy at all times or as much of my waking life as possible and so I ground to keep that clear connection. This helps me manifest with total ease and feel peace and joy. Who knew this was me now. But I understand not everybody is this way and if you're purely here for the health benefits - then I hope grounding helps you to relax, reduce stress, regulate your CNS and just 'be' for 5 mins. In our fast paced lifestyles this is all good. For spiritual purposes grounding reconnects you with: • your body • your intuition • your presence • your aliveness It helps you establish the different parts that exist of The Self and let's the Spirit part come through. It doesn’t give you powers. It doesn’t open portals. It simply removes noise. Creates that gap where source can flow easily. Once the noise is gone, your natural inner wisdom becomes accessible. It is also a must before astral projection and all energy work where you are working with entities, dimensional beings and attachments. Here’s how grounding supports spirituality: 🌸 You hear your intuition more clearly Not because grounding “activates” intuition — but because it quiets the mental chatter that blocks it. 🌸 2. You reconnect with your inner child Grounding evokes: • curiosity • innocence • wonder • play • openness This reconnects you with who you were before stress hardened you. 🌸 3. You feel part of something bigger If you've ever felt like there's something else. That you're meant for something else, and that there is more to this life - maybe that you're here for a reason and you just don't seem to have all the answers but you know something, then you are already connecting to that inner knowing of ancient and forgotten power that is within us all. And natre can help you hone in on this part of you. Nature dissolves the illusion of separateness. Because the greatest lie humanity was ever told is our separation from the divine, source energy. We believed it. And when we believe something to be true - as part of that divine power - it is true. This is the real power of our own minds and subconscious - only we must be aware and know it to be true as your belief and identity to utilise it's power. And so like a self fulfilling prophecy we make it so. Separation is the ultimate illusion. It's not true. And spending as much time in nature grounding will help you return to this inner knowing of connectedness to All that is. Not through ideology — but through sensation / feeling: warmth, sun, air, soil, breath, the heartbeat of the earth. You can feel this pulse beneath you if you stop to notice it. 🌸 4. You soften into surrender Grounding teaches your body that: you don’t have to grip so tightly. You don’t have to control everything. Life can be trusted. This is what ACIM terms as forgiveness. This is known as surrender in spiritual terms. This is nervous-system regulation in scientific terms. They’re all pointing to the same thing. 💚 My First Grounding Experience (And Why It Stood Out) I remember the first time I grounded intentionally. I didn’t call it grounding because I didn't actually know 'grounding' was a thing — I simply felt the urge to be outside. Go outside barefoot on the grass near our house. It was Spring. We were living at the time in a tiny terrace house that had no garden. It felt like quite a stifling and trapped way of living, but it was a do-er upper house that we'd bought to renovate and sell on as soon as it was finished. I didn't realise at the time but having no access to outdoor space can feel like it's closing us in sometimes and I was exactly at this point. This is why it's really important to get that access to nature. So having lived closed in for a while, I felt a strong pull to just be outdoors, maybe I could go to the green (a communal spot near the house) - this is the internal dialogue of divine intuition (higher self thoughts) that can come through during an awakening. Thoughts that wouldn't normally cross your mind or things that can take you a little by surprise. But if you follow these intuitive thoughts and just do - more often than not, it was the right thing to do. You see, our higher self is willing us to do well and progress. I found myself outdoors with no shoes on grounding on grass. The ground felt cool, soft, alive. And you know, it just felt soooo good. I remember wiggling my toes feeling the sensations. And something in me softened too. It was such a small moment. Yet it felt like something inside me finally said: “You’re safe now. Come home.” I didn’t know it then, but that was the moment my awakening began. So not with fireworks — but with presence. Not with revelation — but with feeling. Not with effort — but with surrender. There was no big flashy moment. Only the knowing that this felt good on a soul level and that I wanted and needed more of it in my life. I'd never really been outdoorsy and being outdoors was never a real 'need' or mine. So this new feeling felt different and going forward became part of my daily routine. If I didn't have my daily grounding in nature for just a small amount of time. I noticed it. I felt it and I felt a strong pull to rectify that. An that's what an awakening is. An inner pull to something that brings you to your nature peace, natural truth and natural closeness to divine source energy. Little breadcrumbs walking us back home. And so if you are wanting to start your own daily grounding routine check out my quick (and easy) guide below. There's nothing to it. Just yourself, nature and you taking that small action to do it and notice the sensations of you doing it. That's it. So Ok, if you've got this far - thanks for reading! We know nature is good right? We know we should be grounding more often? And we realise that modern living is cutting us off from healing and witnessing our truth as divine co-creators with infinite energy running through us. For us. It wants us to win! But if we cannot access the very basic core frequency of the Earth - how are we meant to tap into abundance that we are meant for. And so my mission is to wake as many people up as possible to feel their truth. 🌿 How do I do grounding? Here's a simple technique to Ground (A Simple, Gentle Guide) You can ground anywhere nature exists. Anytime. Whenever you feel called to do so. One of my friends feels pulled to touch trees everywhere we go. I used to find this funny, and a quirk of hers, but in truth she's grounding just not on the floor. Here are the simplest everyday ways to ground: ✨ 1. Barefoot on the Earth Grass, soil, sand, stone — 5–10 minutes is enough. ✨ 2. Hands on a Tree Trees ground deeply into the earth. So touching one with bare hands helps you do the same. Trees are so wise that I can impart their knowledge onto us if you are sensitive to energy. I have a very dear and close friend (same friend mentioned above) who talks to trees. That's her gift. She's able to speak and listen to plants and animals. She can ask it q's and get some lovely replies. It's really quite beautiful walking with her because of the conversations we'll have. I don't receive this through but it really is remarkable what nature is saying to us if we can listen with different ears. ✨ 3. Sit on the Ground Bring your spine in contact with nature. This is deeply regulating for the nervous system. ✨ 4. Lie Down in Grass Let the earth hold your weight. This is profoundly calming. ✨ 5. Swim in Natural Water Salt water is especially grounding and cleansing (more on this practice another time). Lakes and rivers work beautifully too. ✨ 6. Walk Slowly in Nature Feel each step. Let your senses open. ✨ 7. Breathe With the Earth Place a hand on your heart and inhale slowly for a few minutes. This drops your system into safety. There really are many ways to connect with nature. Simple pick what's best and available to you at the time and connect. The key is routine too. If you notice that it felt really good, then why wouldn't you want to do this daily. Establishing a ritual makes a ritual out of it. Natures daily medicine for mind body and soul. 🌱 A Gentle 2-Minute Grounding Ritual Print this off Step outside. Touch the earth — feet, hands, or both. Inhale for 4 counts. Exhale for 6 counts. Notice one sound, one sensation, one breath. Whisper: “Here I am.” That’s grounding. That’s presence. And That’s healing. GRAB MY FREE 5 MINS GROUNDING MEDITATION HERE - Listen to it whilst being in nature and grounding for max results. How Often Should I Ground? All the time – Grounding as a daily practice is one of the best ways to become a more grounded person overall which is only a good thing for health and wellbeing. And creating a habit of renewing your connection to yourself and the natural world around you is the best way to ensure that you're connected. It's not just a one time thing. A powerful way to ensure your ability to cope when you feel anxious, overwhelmed, confused, or disconnected is to establish a grounding routine - where you are consciously allocating a little time each day to the practice. Or if you live barefoot then you'll already know the wonders and will hate wearing shoes for this very reason. When? Right now – even in the cold it is imperative that we start getting grounded. According to Ayurveda, autumn is associated with vata energy. And vata imbalances including anxiety, lack of energy, restlessness, foggyness or forgetfulness, insomnia, headaches. 🌸 Grounding was the first time in years — maybe decades —that my body felt safe enough to let go. And when the body softens, the heart opens. The mind clears. The soul speaks. The awakening begins. Not dramatically or loudly or all at once. But softly, gently, quietly. Like remembering something you didn’t realise you’d forgotten. Grounding was the first thread I followed. Little breadcrumbs of inner wisdom that eventually led me back to myself. If you’re beginning your own gentle awakening, this is a beautiful place to start. Just step outside. Take off your shoes. Touch the earth. And breathe. The rest will unfold naturally in divine timing. Drop me a comment if you enjoyed reading this blog and took some positives from it to implement in your daily life. - How to Make Money From Your Blog - With Advertising Revenue & Affiliate Links
We're currently trialing all the ways that you can make money passively from our blog. We plan to travel full time in 2024 and monetise the blog to see whether we can fully replace our salary through blogging alone. We have multiple streams of passive income and would love to increase earnings via the blog too. This post is a working document, where we'll be adding our findings as we go over 2024/2025. On what works for us and what hasn't. To help you on your own blogging money making journey. So far we added Google Ads to the site which shows up ads across the blog. It's straightforward to set up and implement. The ads are placed across your blog using snippet code - in suitable places - and show up related adverts for readers. You decide where to place the adverts. You'll want to find that happy medium, where you have enough ads displayed to increase the chance of click throughs, but not too many so as to spoil the aesthetics of the site. There's nothing more annoying to readers than ads popping up all over the place. It can make the blog look messy and spammy. Google then pays you for click throughs of these ads. After 2 years of blogging, we now earn passively from our blog. We earn pennies per blog views that display ads on them. As we work on increasing our blog, with increased traffic, ads can be a real earner on your blog. We are starting to see great earnings from the blog. And the pennies per visitor really add up to the hundreds. Our blog earning are not enough to cover a full time salary yet. But it's growing all the time and we think anybody can start earning from their blog. Maximizing Your Blog’s Revenue: Earning Through Advertising with Google AdWords and Mediavine If you're a blogger looking to monetize your content, you've likely considered various methods to turn your passion into profit. Two popular and effective ways to earn through advertising are Google AdWords and Mediavine. Each has its own strengths, and understanding how to leverage both can significantly enhance your blog’s revenue potential. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to earn through advertising with these platforms. Understanding the Basics Google AdWords (Now Google Ads) Google Ads, formerly known as Google AdWords, is a pay-per-click (PPC) advertising platform where advertisers pay to display ads on Google’s search engine results pages and across its Display Network. For bloggers, Google Ads can be used in two main ways: Search Ads: These appear on Google’s search results page when users search for specific keywords. Display Ads: These are banner ads shown across various websites that are part of Google’s Display Network. Mediavine Mediavine is a full-service ad management network that specializes in monetizing content through display ads. Unlike Google Ads, which you manage directly, Mediavine handles ad placement and optimization for you. To join Mediavine, you need to meet certain traffic and content requirements, making it a more exclusive but highly rewarding option. Mediavine typically pays a lot more in ad revenue. We are not eligable to advertise on Mediavine just yet but we are motivated to grow the blog to 50k unique visitors per month because once we are able to join and get accepted. Our ad revenue will spike by up to a 50% increase in earnings which will take the blog earnings to be past an average salary for earnings, which is just crazy to think that you too cold be earning a full time salary for writing about your passions, hobbies and skills. We'll of course keep readers updated about our own journey of getting the blog up to Mediavine's standards. How to Earn Through Google Ads Set Up Google Ads Create a Google Ads Account: Sign up for a Google Ads account at ads.google.com . If you already have a Google account, you can use it to sign in. The first and most obvious affiliate program that we've joined is the Amazon Affiliate Programme. The biggest company in the world. Love them or hate them, whatever your politics are on them. Amazon are fast and convenient. You can pretty much get anything on there and a whole lot more what you wasn't looking for through their amazing shopper suggestions. Tons of product reviews so you are not buying blindly. There's no denying that Amazon are here to stay. And their affiliate program is open for all bloggers. Which is handy if you have a new blog that you are growing. The percentages that they pay in commission are quite small by comparison to separate companies, but their affiliate program allows you to start your journey into the affiliate space. We buy from Amazon all the time and it seems a natural progression to recommend some of the amazing products we buy that help us with our travelling journey. Products we couldn't be without as a family of 4 on the road. You'll come across links throughout the blog where you can click through to look at the product we're talking about and if you bought that product too after clicking through our affiliate link, we get a small commission. All affiliate links have our unique code behind them so Amazon knows where the purchase came from and we get the commission in our account after a certain amount of time. We're still learning and plan to share more as we go. Unlocking Profit: A Comprehensive Guide to Earning Money from Your Blog with Affiliate Marketing If you’re a blogger looking to monetise your content, affiliate marketing is one of the most accessible and effective strategies. It’s a win-win situation: you get to earn money by promoting products or services you believe in, while your audience benefits from your recommendations. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make money from your blog through affiliate marketing. 1. Understand Affiliate Marketing Affiliate marketing involves promoting other people’s products or services and earning a commission for every sale or lead generated through your referral link. This can be in the form of banners, text links, or product reviews. The key is to integrate these promotions naturally into your content. 2. Choose the Right Affiliate Programs To maximize your earnings, you need to choose affiliate programs that align with your blog’s niche and audience interests. Here’s how to select the right ones: Relevance: Ensure the products or services are relevant to your blog’s content and your audience’s needs. Reputation: Promote products from reputable companies with good reviews and customer service. Commission Structure: Look for programs with competitive commission rates and favourable payment terms. Some popular affiliate networks include Amazon Associates, ShareASale, CJ Affiliate, and Rakuten Marketing. 3. Create Quality Content Your content is the foundation of your blog and the primary way you’ll engage your audience. Here’s how to create content that drives affiliate sales: Educational Content: Write informative posts that address your audience’s pain points or questions. Include affiliate links to relevant products or services as solutions. Product Reviews: Share honest reviews and personal experiences with products. Detailed reviews with pros and cons can build trust and drive conversions. Comparisons: Create comparison posts that evaluate different products or services in your niche. Highlighting the best options can encourage readers to make a purchase through your affiliate links. 4. Use Strategic Placement of Affiliate Links The placement of your affiliate links can impact your conversion rates. Consider these strategies: Within Content: Integrate links naturally within your blog posts where they’re contextually relevant. Avoid overloading your content with links, as it can appear spammy. Call-to-Action (CTA): Use compelling CTAs to encourage readers to click on your affiliate links. Phrases like “Check out this product” or “Find out more” can be effective. Dedicated Pages: Create dedicated pages or posts for product recommendations or resources. These can serve as go-to guides for your audience. 5. Optimise for SEO Search engine optimisation (SEO) helps your blog posts rank higher in search results, driving more organic traffic. To optimise for SEO: Keyword Research: Identify keywords related to your niche and incorporate them naturally into your content. Quality Content: Focus on creating high-quality, valuable content that addresses your audience’s needs. Internal Linking: Link to your own relevant posts and pages to keep readers engaged and guide them towards affiliate links. 6. Track and Analyse Performance Monitoring your affiliate marketing performance is crucial to understanding what works and what doesn’t. Use analytics tools provided by affiliate programs or third-party platforms to track: Clicks: How many times your affiliate links are clicked. Conversions: How many sales or leads are generated from your links. Revenue: The amount of commission you’ve earned. Analyse this data regularly to refine your strategy and optimise your content for better results. 7. Build Trust with Your Audience Trust is essential for successful affiliate marketing. Build and maintain trust with your audience by: Being Transparent: Disclose your affiliate relationships. Let your readers know that you may earn a commission if they purchase through your links. Offering Genuine Recommendations: Only promote products or services you genuinely believe in and that you think will benefit your audience. 8. Diversify Your Income Streams While affiliate marketing can be a significant revenue source, consider diversifying your income streams to reduce risk and increase earning potential. Other monetisation options include sponsored posts, selling digital products, or offering online courses. Final thoughts.... Affiliate marketing can be a lucrative way to monetise your blog if done correctly. By selecting relevant affiliate programs, creating valuable content, and strategically placing your links, you can start earning money while providing valuable recommendations to your audience. Remember, success doesn’t happen overnight, so be patient, stay consistent, and continually refine your approach based on performance data. Ready to turn your blog into a revenue-generating machine? - What does it mean to be a Spiritual Punk ? - Spirituality for men, for blokes.
I’m Psy, I’m the mister, the fella, the masculine energy, the Dad in Be Nothing Like . So here’s a bit about me and why I am the SPIRITUAL PUNK. I'm going to talk about why I started the SPIRITUAL PUNK Movement What was life like in Manchester in the eighties and nineties Can a nightclub dancefloor be classed as spiritual ? How fo you know you are having a spiritual awakening ? Can you be spiritual and punk ? Can you actually get spiritual clothing for men Being a man, being spiritual, being a Dad. Means being different things, but all the same. I don’t want to be a typically spiritual type of person, blogger, YouTuber whatever, because I’m not a typical spiritual guy.” I want be a bit different, a bit of a rebel so here’s why I became THE SPIRITUAL PUNK and started this as a bit of a movement, for people that feel the same as me. I’m nearly 50, I am a former (still a bit of a) raver, clubber and I still like to go out and have a dance in a dark room with nothing but a strobe light, I’m a DJ, I’m a Dad and a digital nomad living in Bali . I'm also having a spiritual awakening. To be honest i still don't like saying that as it sounds, I don't know, just a bit, well far out. But that's what's happening and I've come to peace with the fact that it doesn't have ro be such a "thing". It's simply learning more about myself, the universe, frequency, vibration and the fact that we are all connected. So yes, I'm having a spiritual awakening, but I want to do it my way. Now if things like spirituality etc all feel a bit woo woo, a bit hippy dippy then SPIRITUAL PUNK is for you. This is the start of the THE SPIRITUAL PUNK MVMNT. I'm going to be sharing it all on my youtube channel. Subscribe and join the SPIRITUAL PUNK MVMNT here . Find out more the SPIRITUAL PUNK movement on my youtube What was it like growing up in inner city Manchester in the 80's & 90's First up, let’s go back to the beginning. I grew up in North East Manchester in the 80’s and 90’s. I always felt a bit different, I dressed different, I thought different and I just felt like I liked different things to other people my age. As an example, this is how I looked. My dad sent me this picture of me, as a teenager, wearing a bright pink coat, an embroidered patchwork Tibetan hat, some sort of tie dye pants and I’ve got my walkman on listening to music. Now I know this was the early 90’s, but this wasn’t how kids dressed in school. Maybe in the hacienda, or at an illegal rave in a field, but not for school on non uniform days, or hanging out on the streets in the rain, in Manchester. But I did. And this made me look different and in all honesty a bit of a target. I read a book a bit ago by Dave Haslam, on the history of x1. Dave is a DJ, former hacienda resident and author. He writes some amazing books, so they are well worth reading and if you get a chance to hear him DJ. Take it, he’s got such a broad history of musical knowledge and a great selection of tracks. He’s also a fantastic writer and in this book there was a quote that stuck with me. Me, as a rather stand out teenager (circa 1991) A quote that really says a lot about where I grew up. This particular book is called "Manchester - England. The story of a pop cult city" and it talks about Manchester, my home city and all about it’s history, it’s time as an industrial town right through it becoming the city known for the Hacienda, Manchester and becoming an iconic place in music and popular culture. Now in it he is talking about inner city areas and he quotes Jeff Noon - author of Vurt and Pollen and in it he’s talking about growing up in a place called Droylsden, which was literally around the corner from my childhood home in Openshaw and is where I used to go to the shop, or hang out - he talks about how being creative here, made you look like a madman or a homosexual. Now, there’s nothing wrong with people thinking that you are a madman, or queer. A lot of people think I am both and that’s something I’m actually very proud of, but it’s just a little example of how being different back then, growing up made me a target. The streets of Higher Openshaw where I lived. Home sweet home. I'm not trying to pretend that I grew up on seriously mean streets, like some Dickensian character, or mini gangster, but just to illustrate that as someone who was a bit different, they weren't the most forgiving of places to spend your formative years. The streets were actually used as one of the locations for the film East is East and these images were taken from an interesting blog post that I found by artist - John Halley, which you can see more of here . So, this being different, meant I didn’t really have many real friends, I was crap at sport a bit weird and not in any of the cool groups. I was just walking around in my mad clothes getting shouted and being a bit mental. That teaches you early that being different comes with a cost—but also a power. Can a nightclub dancefloor really be a spiritual place ? So I was always a bit of a loner, a bit out there and I didn’t really feel like I belonged or fitted in with a set group, or crowd. This carried on all through school and into college, until I went to a club called golden at Sankeys Soap in Manchester. This was where things made sense. I walked in this nightclub. In the wastelands of Ancoats. Th rough a shuttered door, past a moody doorman. Then I walked to a heavy 4/4 beat, slamming kick drums, flashing lights and a literal wall of heat and moving, dancing bodies. I could not believe it. Everyone was wearing flamboyant clothes, dancing together, smiling, hugging and just generally loving each other and life with loud house music smashing out of the speakers. fdc An old soap factory with banging music & sweat dripping from the ceiling - that changed my life This moment literally changed my life, my outlook, my vibe, my feeling.……. Everything about me. I honestly felt like I'd come home. It’s a massive moment in my life. This was my fiest spiritual experience and one that I will talk about in more detail, in a future post. Now e’s were a part of that time yes, but I’ll talk more about this in the future. So fast forward a bit to now. I still DJ, I’m still a rebel, I have spiky blonde hair, dress a bit mad. But I am a Dad now, I have 3 kids and I live in Bali as a digital nomad, but I’m learning more and more about the spirituality side of things. Frequency, vibration, meditation yoga and all of that, whilst still being me and having a beer and a laugh with it all. I didn’t abandon who I was. I expanded who I was. I’m not a guru, I’m not a monk, I’m not here to preach. I’m just a guy trying to grow, to feel better, to live better and I want to share that with you. How do you know you are having a spiritual awakening ? What are the signs ? So what were the turning points ? Like I said, I’ve always been different. I’ve stop out and I’ve literally been beaten up, a few times actually for looking weird. So this changes you. The main thing that changed me was feeling that there was more to life. I was working in the UK, running a business, struggling with everything, the economy, the people, the weather and more. I am so so happy with my personal life, I have an amazing partner, my kids are so special and as a family we are happy. But I just thought there was more. It felt like life was asking me to change. This got me learning more about spirituality. I learned about the 12 laws of the universe , I learned about frequency, about vibration, about yoga and meditation . When you first start getting feelings of spirituality creeping into you, it can be a bit hard to understand, so I took a deeper look at What are the signs that you might be more spiritual than you think ? in this post. My parter suffered with depression and after losing almost all of our money in crypto we felt a pull to move, to Bali. A place we had never been. Then we started getting signs from the universe. “I’ll tell that whole story in another post, because frankly it was mad. But to cut a long story short, we ended up selling everything in the UK, setting off with the family and one way tickets to explore Bali and south east Asia. Now Bali is a super spiritual place, full of mad energy and lots of things like ley lines passing through and this is something that you can really feel. Along the way I’ve spent time with buddhist monks, learning about meditation yoga and more. Recently even though I’m living well here I was still feeling like I wanted to do something more. So, that’s why I’m starting this. The spiritual punk. What can you expect from The spiritual punk. I want this to be something a bit more than just me spouting off, I want it to be a bit of a collective, a place for like minded souls, the ones that think a bit different, the outsiders to all gather and feel ok to be themselves. I want this to the Spiritual Punk Movement. Why punk and spirituality are actually pretty similar. So why The Punk Side ? I want to bring this ethos together with spirituality, as although they seem so far apart. They are petty similar vibes. Punk represents a bit if rebellion, a bit against the man, a bit Fuck the system. I like that. I also LOVE the aesthetic. The style, ever since I saw the image of Jonny Rotten, spiky orange hair, neon pink Vivienne Westwood DESTROY top, studded belt and leather pants. That is a strong look and one that I have always loved. This is the very definition of "A strong look" Spirituality is about ignoring the news, not following religion. Trusting you, your intuition and being connected to everything. I took a more detailed look at What is Spirituality in this post. So, the two mindsets go pretty hand in hand as a way of life. Now for me personally a lot of the Spiritual content online feels a bit out there, it’s not really aimed at people like me and honestly the majority of it feels female led, so I want to be speaking to the blokes, the men. Bringing a bit of masculine energy, but real masculine energy into the space. So what sort of topics will I be talking about. What is the Spiritual Punk manifesto ? There’s spirituality, obviously, but what it really means. To an everyday person, living a life. How does it feel, how can you learn from it and how can you implement it into your everyday life. So that will lead on to topics like meditation, yoga and living well. I’m into biohacking, exploring biohacking as a way to bring in some ancient practices, with a modern twist that can help you live better, feel better, look better and be on top of your game physically and mentally. This is all part of the The Fitness & Yoga Side — Building a Spiritual Warrior Body. There’s the DJ/music Side — Why Sound, Frequency & Vibration Matter ? I have DJ’d in Ibiza, Berlin, Sankeys. Seriously underground clubs and I’ve literally seen, heard and felt the physical effect of sound on people. When you’ve seen a whole room vibrate together on the same frequency you understand energy in a different way. So I’m going to talk about how frequencies shift emotions, energy, state of mind, Linking this to spiritual concept, kind of like a “Raise your vibration” explained through music. I will also be sharing some of the music, the mixes etc that I like to listen to, maybe catching up on some old 90’s house mixes etc. DJ ing in Space - Ibiza. Such a magical place. If you want a listen to some of my music then have a listen, have a dance to my Soundcloud here. https://soundcloud.com/goodhousevibes/goodhousevibes-show-1 I spent a lot of time in Ibiza. A place known for wild clubbing, but also a magical, almost spiritual like energy going on. I always loved my times here and it used to be the only place that i felt like I wanted to live. The island has changed a lot recently and the vibe has definitely shifted. I did write a post all about my time visiting ibiza, so have a read of that ibiza in the 90's post if you want a teaser of some 90’s house music nostalgia. What about spiritual clothing for men ? As part of the Spiritual Punk, I’m also starting a clothing range. This is something I love. I’m all about being connected and spiritual, but, call me vain……. I like to look good whilst I’m doing it. Now, in all honesty when you look at what is classed as spiritual clothing, it’s a bit crap. It’s naff and it’s not what I want to wear. So you know what, if you want something, go create it. Creating Spiritual clothing for men - That people will actually want to wear So, as an overview it’s going to be clothing with a spiritual vibe, but with punk energy and an edgy streetwear aesthetic. I’m going to be creating some one of one pieces, built on vintage military pieces with hand crafted prints and elements to them, so stay tuned for those. ……. So, that’s what this is all about. Welcome to the Spiritual Punk Movement.” I’m going to be writing regularly on here, adding videos to the YouTube, but I also have all of my own channels, so if you want to join the SPIRITUAL PUNKMVMNT then I’d love to have you along for the journey. - What is Spirituality ? How are we all connected and what is the Quantum Field.
Have you ever felt like something in your life just isn’t clicking anymore? Like the world feels “off” in a way you can’t explain? Or like you’re starting to question things you’ve never questioned before? In this blog post I take a more detailed look at what is spirituality ? If you are in a hurry and want to jump straight to the juicy bits, I look at some thoughts and questions like; What Is Spirituality Not? What Is Spirituality Actually? Are We Really All Energy? What Is the Quantum Field and Why Does It Matter? How Does Energy Actually Work in the Body? How Does Connection Show Up in Everyday Life? What Does Frequency Actually Mean? If so this might be the moment you realise you’re more spiritual than you ever thought. Not in a “crystals and incense” way…in a real, grounded, human way. This is spirituality for people who don’t fit the stereotype. This post is available on my YouTube as a full video, so if you would to watch and find out more about What Spirituality is ? and what it can be, then you can watch below and enjoy, or you can watch on youtube here and sub to my channel for more content like this. Welcome to Spiritual Punk. Welcome to Spiritual Punk. I spoke about this in more detail in my last post and how feelings like this can be a sign that you might actually be a bit more spiritual than you think, or you might not even know it, so if you are feeling like this. Then, it’s fine. You are in the right place. I looked at spirituality, more from a beginners point of view, taking a look at some of the signs that you might be more spiritual than you think, so if you are asking the question; Am I becoming more spiritual then have a read of that post here. Actual footage of how you look when you become spiritual Who Am I and Why Am I Talking About Spirituality? My name’s Psy. Former DJ, raver, dad, living in Bali as a digital nomad, and always been a bit different, in the way I looked, acted and thought and spirituality was the last thing I thought I’d be talking about in my life. In all honesty I thought of it more as a religious type of thing and that always put me off, but now I’m into it more. I realised I’d been living spiritual experiences for years, I just didn’t have the language for it And you might be the same. So I want to talk in a bit more detail about what spirituality is, but I don’t want to do it in a guru way, in an “I’m more spiritual than you” kind of way, because I don’t want this to be like that. I want it to be honest and something that actually makes sense to everyday people. I added a post explaining What is a SPIRITUAL PUNK which you can read here. What Is Spirituality Not? So in this post I want to go a bit deeper and talk about what spirituality is. Now I think it’s important to remember that there’s no formula for this. There’s no rule book, for me spirituality is, like house music. It’s a feeling. Before we decode what spirituality is, let’s think about what it’s NOT: It’s not religion It’s not about being perfect It’s not pretending to be enlightened It’s not escaping reality And it’s definitely not the cliché “hippy in the jungle with a crystal” vibe Real spirituality doesn’t take you out of life……. It kind of helps you through it. What Is Spirituality Actually? Spirituality, I think has a few basic feelings and they don’t even have to be called spirituality as I know just saying that can put people of. I get it. It used to put me off. So, if you take 1 thing from this post today, please, just take one of these thoughts, let them in, think about them and then believe. For me it’s about realising that you are more than what you are told you are. You are not just a body. You are something fucking amazing You are magic You are connected to something else, to everything. You are a ball of massive energy and you matter We are all made of energy And I think if you know this you can open up the possibility to do anything. I think spirituality initially is about just sitting with these, then just knowing them, then you can be ready to go a bit deeper. Are We Really All Energy? So I mentioned that you’re a massive ball of energy and in this space you hear people talk about; “good energy,” “bad energy,” “protecting your energy”… But what does that actually mean? Let’s break it down in a way that actually makes sense. Everything physical is made of atoms and atoms aren’t solid. When you look around the room, everything looks solid: your body, your phone, the floor, whatever. But on a scientific level, none of this is actually solid. Every single thing is made of atoms…and atoms are tiny structures of energy - protons, neutrons, electrons, all moving, spinning, vibrating. Nothing sits still. Nothing is fixed. Everything is in motion. You’re not a solid object. You’re trillions of vibrating energy patterns held together in a shape we call “you.” And the same goes for a mountain… a tree… but not just things you can touch and see, even a thought or a feeling. The structure of an atom The most “solid” things in your life are actually energy behaving as form. So when spiritual teachers say “everything is energy,” they’re not being poetic, they’re being literal. What Is the Quantum Field and Why Does It Matter? Now zoom in even further. We know everything is made of atoms, but when you actually look inside an atom, it’s almost completely empty. 99.999% of an atom is empty space. There’s a tiny nucleus and then electrons orbiting far away…and between them?Almost nothing. But here’s where it gets interesting, that “empty space” isn’t empty at all. It’s a field, a field of vibration, information, and possibility. Scientists call it the quantum field. You might’ve heard of quantum physics. It’s the science that studies the smallest building blocks of reality. Quantum physics shows that nothing is truly solid… everything is energy in motion. And this isn’t just crazy woo woo shit. This is now mainstream science. So what actually is the quantum field? It’s the invisible fabric underneath physical reality. It connects everything to everything else. And this is the point where spirituality and science start saying the same thing: Your consciousness interacts with this field. Your emotions change your energy.Your thoughts change the electromagnetic patterns your body sends out. Your brain, heart, and nervous system are constantly broadcasting signals into this field and receiving information back. The Quantum field - This is actual science You’ve already experienced this, you maybe just didn’t call it “energy.” Why Can You Feel a Room the Moment You Walk Into It? Think about walking into a room where someone’s angry. You feel it instantly, before they say a word. It’s just like the air is different. Or when someone’s genuinely happy, you see it, you feel it, their whole energy affects you. That’s emotion changing the energy of a person…and your body reacting to it. That’s what people mean by “energy.” You can sense things without seeing, hearing, or touching them. Which means: You’re not separate from your environment. You’re influencing it. And it’s influencing you. Why Understanding Energy Changes Everything ? When you understand that everything is energy, three really important things click into place: Thoughts and emotions aren’t “just in your head.”They’re electrical and magnetic and they influence your reality. Your internal state matters more than your circumstances. Change your energy, and your outer world eventually shifts to match it. Connection isn’t metaphorical. You are literally part of a larger universal field. This is why things like meditation work. This is why manifestation isn’t “wishful thinking.”This is why presence feels powerful. When your mind and energy are aligned, you’re connected to the deeper structure of reality itself. How Does Energy Actually Work in the Body? And the same energy isn’t just around you, it’s literally how your body works. Your body is an electrical and electromagnetic system: Your brain fires electrical signals Your nervous system runs on electrical patterns Your heart generates an electromagnetic field Your cells communicate through energy transfer This isn’t spirituality, this is biology, physics, neuroscience. Your emotions have energetic signatures. When you are scared, or worried you literally feel it in your chest. When you are happy you feel open and amazing. Anger makes you feel hot and mad. When your calm and content you feel softer. Every emotional state creates measurable electrical and hormonal changes. Energy = information. Are You a Transmitter and Receiver of Energy? And here’s the big one: You’re a transmitter and receiver. Your heart’s electromagnetic field reaches several feet outside your body. Your brain emits electrical waves measurable from outside your skull. Your nervous system constantly sends and receives information. Every thought, emotion, and intention has a vibration, a literal frequency. So this idea of “being connected to the universe” isn’t about crystals or incense. It’s physics. You live inside a giant energetic web. Everything you do ripples through that web and everything in that web ripples back into you. This is why intuition exists. This is why synchronicities happen. This is why you sense someone’s mood instantly. Because you’re not separate. You’re part of the field. How Does Connection Show Up in Everyday Life? So now we know we are all sending signals out constantly. That others can feel and receive. That leads to the bit about us all being connected and how it can show up in your life. Connection shows up in everyday life, we just kind of overlook it. Here are the ways people already feel this connection without realising: You think of someone seconds before they text you. This isn’t magic - It’s coherence between two nervous systems in the same field. You walk into a room and instantly know the vibe. This is your heart field is reading the energy before your mind does. You feel pulled toward certain places, people, or opportunities. That’s resonance, your frequency matching something outside you. You get goosebumps when something “clicks.” This is your nervous system recognising truth or alignment. You feel drained around certain people and energised around others. This means your field is interacting with theirs. This is everyday spirituality, but hardly anyone calls it that because they think spirituality has to look mystical. It doesn’t. It’s just being aware of the deeper intelligence you’re already wired into. Can Music and the Dancefloor Be a Spiritual Experience? Now here’s one thats super personal to me and to so many others. “If you’ve ever been on a dancefloor, or in a moshpit, or in a field at a festival in a collective of people, living in the moment, singing, dancing, jumping around, just lost in the moment, feeling it to music they love. Just being truly present, congratulations - you’ve felt the universal field.” I felt this when I was DJ ing, or dancing in a club. Can a dancefloor in a sweaty club be a spiritual experience - It can for me ! You’re not just playing music or hearing it. You’re guiding energy and feeling it You’re reading the room and the room is reacting You’re syncing your frequency with hundreds of people and you are all becoming one. You’re tuning in to an invisible language that has nothing to do with words Every great DJ and every clubber knows this moment: That point where the room breathes as one. The drop hits. The entire crowd moves as one. And either, behind the decks or on the dance floor and you can feel the energy before you can see it. That is connection. That is the universe in motion. That is hundreds of heart fields syncing into a single coherent frequency. Scientists call it entrainment: a group of separate systems falling into the same rhythm. But spiritually, that moment is pure alignment. What Does Frequency Actually Mean? So something else you will hear a lot about is vibration. Raise your vibration, give good vibes etc and you will hear vibration and energy spoke about together and vibration leads to frequency. So now we’ve talked about energy, lets look at frequency. Frequency is just the speed your energy is vibrating at. That’s it. Nothing woo-woo. Just movement and just like music, different vibrations create different feelings and different states. Think about a track with a deep, slow, heavy bass, it pulls you inward, it’s dense, it hits low. Then think about an uplifting, fast, bright melody, it lifts you, it opens you, it expands you. Your body works the exact same way. How Does Frequency Shape Your Reality? Low-frequency states: Fear Shame Guilt Stress Anger When you’re in these states, you literally feel it: your chest tightens, your breath shortens, your whole system contracts. Your body becomes denser, moving slower. High-frequency states: Joy Love Gratitude Connection Inspiration Your body responds instantly: you breathe deeper, your posture opens, you feel lighter.Your system speeds up, but in a calm, coherent way. And earlier we talked about how your energy affects other people. This is what you’re transmitting. This is your frequency. People feel your state before you say a word. Your dominant state = your frequency, it shapes your experience. Not because of magic, but because your emotional state literally changes: what you notice, what you ignore, what you’re drawn to, the people you vibe with, the opportunities you recognise, the decisions you make and how you show up in the world Your frequency shapes your reality because your perception shapes your reality. So What Is Spirituality, Really? So that’s a bit of a look at what spirituality is. If this resonated, that you’re more than you’ve been told, that you’re energy, that you’re connected to something bigger, then you’re already on this path. Even if you’ve never called it “spirituality.” You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need crystals or robes. You just need awareness. That quiet pull that says, “there’s more here.” This is raw. Real. Grounded. This is your place. This is Spiritual Punk. I’m going to be writing regularly on here, adding videos to the YouTube, but I also have all of my own channels, so if you want to join the SPIRITUAL PUNK MVMNT then I’d love to have you along for the journey. - What Is Spirituality, for beginners ?
Let's look at why You Could You Be More Spiritual Than You Think? Alright. I want to talk about spirituality, But not in the guru, ultra-woo-woo stuff you might see online. Because I get, that for some people it’s too much, it’s to far out and you might not even feel like you are “spiritual” or you might just feel a bit weird when you think about spirituality. I get that. I felt the same, so I want to talk to you today and break this down a bit. I'm going to answer some of the questions that were going through my mind and some of the questions you might have about spirituality. So, if you are just starting to question things and thinking there's more out there. Read on. Topics like these, which you can jump to quickly if you are short on time; What Are the Signs You Might Be Having a Spiritual Awakening? What If Spirituality Isn’t What You Think It Is? So What Is Spirituality, Really? What Is Intuition vs Logic? Can Music and Raving Be Spiritual Experiences? Could you be having a Spiritual Awakening ? So, what can be the signs that you are spiritual, or that at least, you might be more spiritual than you think. You might just be a feeling a bit different to other people. A bit like somethings not right, your thoughts are different, your views are different, things on the news on TV and in the newspapers, some of the things happening in the world don’t make sense to you anymore. If you think a bit like this then stick around. Because guess what? You might be having a spiritual awakening. I added a full video on this on my youtube channel Why Do I Struggle With the Term “Spiritual Awakening”? Ok, so I want to clear something up first. For some reason I don’t like to say that I’m having a spiritual awakening. I don’t know why, but the phrase “spiritual awakening” kind of grates on me, it sounds a bit out there, a bit pretentious. It could be because it sounds a bit religious. So, how do I describe what’s going on for me and so many others are feeling and experiencing? Well, instead of focussing on the label. I just want to talk about it. A bit about spirituality, what it feels like, coming at it maybe from a more non-spiritual point of view. Aimed more at the men, the lads, the blokes, but not exclusively. This is for anyone, whatever you identify as who feels like they would like a bit of clarity. I like to look at this from the lens of someone that’s still relatively new to this. Not a guru, just a normal person who wants to feel something more. To feel connected. So, if you are feeling these things. Maybe you could be more spiritual than you think. Maybe you are having a spiritual awakening…. Oh shit, I just said it again didn’t I. How they say a Spritual Awakening is "meant" to feel So What Is Spirituality, Really? Now spirituality isn’t about being perfect. It doesn’t have to be such a “thing”. It’s not about chanting on a mountaintop or owning 47 crystals. For me and maybe for you, spirituality is just this simple pull…This curiosity…This feeling that there’s more to life than the everyday grind. More than the crap that you see going on. More than the everyday get up, go to work, go home, go to bed. Rinse and repeat. It’s the sense that there’s something deeper happening inside you… just that there’s something a bit more out there.Even if you don’t have the language for it yet. Could You Be Spiritual and Not Even Know It? A lot of people think spirituality means you need to meditate for hours a day or drink green juice or stop doing anything you like that is “non spiritual”… but honestly, most people start their spiritual journey without realising they’re on one. The key thing for me is, you don’t suddenly have to decide “I’m spiritual” you don’t have to announce it to anyone and everyone. Change your life and be a different person. It’s not like a big awakening where you wake up and decide to run off to tibet and become a monk. You might just be noticing that something feels off in your life. Or that the world around you doesn’t make sense anymore. Maybe you’re starting to question things; the news, society, the way we’re supposed to live. Maybe you’re feeling a bit disconnected from old patterns, old environments, even old friendships. You might just be feeling a bit kind of lost, and a bit like you want a new direction. And you’re wondering if anyone else feels the same. They do. And you’re not weird. You’re waking up. And that’s ok. What Is Intuition vs Logic? Why Does Something Feel “Off”? Your brain is split into 2 sides. The left side is logical, analytical. The right side is more intuition, feeling and creativity. The best way I can explain is when you’re young, you’re a kid, you live mostly in the right side. You play, you want to go to space. You get some boxes, you make a space ship and you go to space. Simple. In your mind you are a spaceman. As you get older, you stop playing, you go to school, you get taught stuff, you go to college, you get a job. You stop playing. You are forced to live by your left brain. Imagine if you were in the office one day and started playing spaceman. People would look at you like you had absolutely lost your shit. But when you are young and you do it, you don’t care, you believe it. You are a spaceman and that pile of cardboard boxes will fly you to the fucking moon. That’s the right side of your brain. So the right side of your brain can come up with things and tell you things, like you are a spaceman. You are in space. But the left side of you’re brain says no you are not, you are 42 years old, you are in the office, stop being an idiot. That’s an extreme example, but this battle is going on. Both sides work together to form an opinion, a thought. This then impacts your actions. You might be feeling something, like a feeling in your gut, telling you something. But then shutting it down, because it doesn’t make sense. This is the fight between your left and right brain. A brain of 2 halves For most of my life, I lived in my logical brain, the left side. The practical, analytical, ‘be sensible’ side, because to function in modern life, you kibd of have to. But I always felt things. Said things that I thought, dressed how I wanted, even though it was seen as crazy. This was the creative, the right side of my brain. But, to fit in, to be “normal” you have to live by the left side. But at the start of my own spiritual journey… I kept getting these feelings in my gut. Like something was wrong. Something wasn’t adding up. I’d watch the news and think,“This doesn’t feel right”. “This is bull shit”. I’d be in a meeting or a situation and feel this pull saying,“You’re not supposed to be here”. “This is boring, go do something different”. That was my intuition. The right side of the brain, that fun loving, creative, expressive, soulful part and it was trying to get my attention. And your intuition does the same.It whispers before it shouts. So if you are hearing things like this. Don’t be afraid to just feel them and listen. Then see where they take you. Can Music and Raving Be Spiritual Experiences? This feeling of being different took me somewhere, so here’s an everyday example. And here’s something I didn’t realise for years…I was spiritual long before I ever meditated. It happened in clubs. In raves. In old warehouses, in Manchester with sweat dripping off the ceilings at 4am on a Sunday in January. The scene of my first spiritual experience - The dancefloor of Sankeys Soap Manchester As a clubber — and later as a DJ — music wasn’t just music. It moved me. A kick drum could shift my whole mood. A breakdown could give me goosebumps. A lyric could unlock something emotional I didn’t even know needed to come out. You know those nights where the whole room is moving as one, when everyone has their hands in the air during a breakdown and bang, the bass kicks in, everyone starts to dance and you literally feel it in your heart, in your whole body....... Literally in your very soul. Where strangers feel like family.Where everything feels free and connected and alive. That’s spirituality. That’s energy. That’s frequency. That’s your soul remembering what it feels like to be free. We just didn’t call it that because we were in a basement instead of a meditation centre. Is Feeling Different From Society Actually a Good Thing? I want to talk about something important… Because if you’re reading this, maybe you’re feeling it too. Maybe you feel different to everyone around you.Your friends, your family, your coworkers. They seem fine with the system, the grind, the small talk. Sure, they moan about it, but they just carry on. Feeling fed up and trudging through shit. And you’re just… not. You’re thinking deeper. You’re craving meaning. You’re questioning things you never questioned before. And you might feel alone. But it doesn’t even have to be this deep, you might just feel a bit off with life. Or like there’s something wrong with you. There isn’t. This is normal. This is part of waking up. Some people go their whole life feeling that nudge and ignoring it. You’re not. Well done you. You are feeling it. Welcome on board. Is It Actually Okay to Be Weird? So look I think one of the most important things to realise about yourself in this type of situation is this: It’s Okay to Be Weird (It's Actually a Superpower) Let me be real for a moment…I’ve always been different. Growing up in Manchester, I dressed like a cross between a hippie and a raver.I thought differently, looked differently, saw the world differently. And society makes you think being different is a problem. But actually that’s where your magic is. Being weird? Being the outsider? Feeling like you don’t quite fit in? That’s the sign you’re supposed to create your own path. Not follow someone else’s. Spiritual Punk is literally built on that idea — you can grow, evolve, expand… and still be unapologetically you. I wrote a full post on me and what it means to be a SPIRITUAL PUNK so, if you want to know more about what is a SPIRITUAL PUNK then have a read here. So, what it does it mean to be spiritual ? Is There One “Right Way” to Be Spiritual? Now here’s something else I want to say. Your Spiritual Journey Is Personal. And here’s the thing a lot of people don’t say…There’s no ‘one way’ to be spiritual. You don’t need to belong to a group. You don’t need to give yourself a label. You don’t need to act a certain way. Your spiritual journey is yours.Private.Personal. Unique. Whether you find yourself through meditation… or music… or nature… or journaling… or raving until sunrise… it’s all valid. What matters is that you’re listening to yourself. I have found that when you speak to someone about spirituality, sometimes it can start to become like a competition. Like people feel the need to THE most spiritual person in the room. To be THE most awakened one. I can't be arsed with that vibe. Just do you, do what feels right. I like to meditate in a morning, have a beer with some tunes on in the evening. This is what I do, I mean I put some incense on whilst I do it, but it’s about being in the moment. That’s fine. It’s about doing what makes you feel good. I know this sounds like i'm trying to do that competition thing when I say this, but ah well, here we go. A buddhist monk once told me, "Life is all about balance." I agree with that. It's one of the best pieces of advice I'ver been given So, if you are feeling like this then you could be more spiritual than you think. So that’s what this channel is about. Spirituality for real people. People who think differently. People who’ve felt the shift but don’t resonate with the typical spiritual stereotypes. I’m building this channel from the beginning for people like me, people like you. Sharing what I’ve learned and for me, this is the exciting bit, sharing what I’m still learning. There’s so much to learn, to know, to experience. So much wisdom to gain and I’m going to share it all. And I’m building a community for anyone who feels a little lost, a little different, a little awake. So if this resonates…If something inside you is going, ‘Yeah… that’s me’… Stick around. I'm going to be diving deeper into the topic of What is Spirituality ? A little deeper in my next post, so stay tuned for that. Subscribe. Join the Spiritual Punk movement. There’s lot’s more content to come. I’m going to be taking a deeper look at what spirituality is ? Diving a bit deeper into the subject. - 5-Minute Grounding Meditation for Beginners
There are so many benefits to grounding that I wrote a whole blog post about it here and did a YouTube video too to really ground in (pardon the pun) of just how easy and powerful grounding can be for a spiritual awakening and our physical health in general. And Purely because as a species the Human race is so far removed from how we should be interacting with our environment to help us reconnect with our divine nature. And grounding is so easy it hurts. We should be doing it because it's too easy to not do. Yet many are not. And We expect to be able to harness our spiritual gifts and get divine communication through and manifest our worldly desires (as Source energy does with ease). And yet the very energy that creates this stuff is not being tapped into from our feet. It's simple basic stuff. Grounding is also paramount for energy work and clearing - and energy workers are grounding all the time when doing clearings. But for the average everyday life stuff grounding daily can re-connect and help us gain clarity and direction in our life and of course there's loads of health benefits to getting barefoot. Here's A really quick daily grounding meditation — a few minutes to return to the present moment, root into your body, and reconnect with the steady, loving energy of the Earth… and your own power. Made for beginners or those that struggle to make time for meditation. Let’s begin today with just 5 minutes. 5 minutes to make a difference. 5 minutes to ground. 5 minutes to just sit and be in the present moment. Let my voice guide you as you settle into the meditation. Scroll straight down to access the 5 min meditation video (I have no ads running in the meditation video (for obvious reasons, I don't want you to get an ad blurting out when you meditate) and so I don't get paid for adding these free meditations. All I ask is that you go to the channel and drop the video a thumbs up and Subscribe. The free meditations I share freely take me a few hours to make and your subscribe is your thanks in exchange for the energy. My time for your like & subscribe (if you liked it of course ;-) If this is your first time meditating or you are new to meditation this is for you. A gentle 5 minute guided meditation that relaxes and anchors you to your presence. If thoughts creep in whilst doing this meditation, that's ok, your awareness of them is all you need at this stage. Notice the thought and gently allow yourself the permission to release the thought and let it go. And bring your attention back to my voice. This is only 5 minutes of your day where you can allow any thoughts space to wait. This is your time to connect and ground to your energy and that of the Earth. I hope you love this meditation. Let me know in the comments. Namaste Fletch x NOTES: This is specifically made for beginners with frequency embedded Solfeggio frequencies to help anybody no matter how little experience or how much they struggle to meditation ease into meditation and allow themselves to ALLOW the time to ease in. We often subconsciously block ourselves as beginners and then give up. This is the 5 minute permission slip that beginners need to allow themselves to slip into their meditation practice. All is needed is to give this meditation just 5 minutes of your attention. Find a quiet place where you won't be distracted. Lie down or sit upright (whichever feels comfortable) and listen to the sounds and my voice. Notice the sensations the music has on your body and let my voice taken you into your body and down through the ground in a gentle non woo woo, no fluff or nonsense way. Feel free to use this meditation anytime any day to ground yourself before beginning your longer meditation.
